Hey guys, with my touch hd, i like using my in-ear headphones although they are far too loud when using the music player tab in manilla. how can i put the volume down?
try searching, there's already a thread about this.
as far as i know, that thread suggests using advanced config to set the music player value low. Setting it to 1 still makes it rather loud for a minimum sound level and so this doesnt really solve my problem.
also, with the audio booster enabled, how do i change the overall volume?
the only way ive been doing this is by creating profiles with various changes to the overall db values (ie subtracting and adding 1 from total, 2, 3 etc.) but this is a long process and id have to do it for every config.
any ideas?

This maybe a bit simplistic and you may have tried it, but why don't you take all the frequencies down to -6 in the Audio Booster? This in theory should drop the overall volume by -6db? The other thing I did was buy high impedence earbuds which where 150ohms, but ear buds are not everyones thing. I don't like "in the ear" phones myself. I have some yuin PK1's....they are superb HiFi.
If the music is too loud, you can edit the registry to fix it:
Local_machine\software\HTC\AudioManger_eng\Config\ music_player_volumn
Change the DWORD to 10 or lower and soft-reset the mobile
(Original value is hexadecimal: 64 or Decimal: 100)
You have just decreased the maximum music player volume in TouchFLO3D
Here is another tip.
If you want the phone to remember the last volume used with headphones, so that the next time you plug them in, they will automatically play at that last volume, you can also do this in the registry. The only problem with this particular tip, is that after every soft-reset, you'll have to enter the changes again in the registry.
But here is how to do that:
Local_machine\software\HTC\VolumeOverlay\SavedHand SetVolume
Change DWORD to 0

How about using your Stylus (or finger) to lower at minimum?
Rgds,
huh?
Why would you edit registry etc?
Whats wrong with the up/down volume keys or as stated the volume icon in taskbar?

In some cases, (and I had this problem), even having the volume at just a couple of bars was pretty darn loud. That meant that it didn't give you much room to play around with a decent volume range. Basically, you knew you never needed the volume louder than just a few bars. If you wanted to rock out - it was fine. But if you wanted to listen to music at a soft volume, it was not that easy. If you turned it down a bar or so, it would drop the volume quite a bit and another bar down meant no more volume. Also, the side buttons drop the volume faster than if you use your stylus. So, that meant that using the buttons sometimes dropped the volume from loud to mute in one press. So, I had to take the stylus out every time to carefully lower the volume just a bar or two. And that gets annoying.
So by making the registry adjustment, you are basically setting your desired max volume to be at the top of the bars. Now you have whole range of bars to slowly drop the volume down when you want to listen to softer music.
Not everyone has this problem. I had it with my stock ROM, but once I started using Dutty's ROMs, I never had a problem with it.
I see, 5 mins out of box Dutty's ROM on my HD
This problem went away since i switched over to kwbr's Topix a while ago. It seems to be a result of some headphones having a higher sensitivity to others, so they interpret the same electrical signal into a louder sound, hence why HTC try to eliminate the problem by giving a set of headphones which are known to be the right sensitivity.
also, once i have the volume all the way i have it, how can i change the volume? when using the audio booster, the volume control no longer works

I don't understand your question.
However, when I use the audio booster, I can still use the volume buttons as usual. Do you have anything else installed that could be interfering with it? For example software to map buttons?
I think you should use WMP to play, easier to adjust the volume
Try using one of these:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/apple-iphone-stereo-handsfree-adapter-p15226.htm
Works well, microphone and answer button work, and has a volume slider so you can tweak volume as required.
Can someone please post the codes for changing the volume on speaker and headphones.
Just finding the volume too low (on headphones) compared to Nokia and LG. Or maybe i'm going deaf.
Was gono ask the same question as well cause I can barely hear when talking to someone, so would appreciate anyways to increase volume. Sorry to highjack your thread, but am sure we are after the same solution.
Here you go, its at the bottom of the page:

Cheers matey so by entering them codes we can then increase the voice call volume?, will the altering not mess anything up?

Your a star.. Thanks man..
just one quick question.. Could this be used to increase overall system volume ??
can anyone confirm if this increases the volume of a call using the headset, not just the phone's internal speaker? i'd assume it controls all output sources, no?

1 RCV config
2 EAR config <----- Earphone
3 SPK config <----- Speaker
4 BTH config

I don't think so .... I have tried many combinations and nothing seems to work. It all resets back to default anyway when the phone is rebooted. Previous older Symbian models saved the settings (i8910) but the Android handsets have a different subsystem.
I guess we must wait for a custom kernel and some Supercurio voodoo mods.

Hey guys,
Running into an issue trying to increase the volume.
After i do these steps
Dialer *#*#197328640#*#*

I get stuck on a screen saying

Anyone have any ideas? My phone is unlocked and rooted.
Cheers

Even with the 'menu blocked ' continue using key input option and you should be through. Hope this helps.

Hi there
Recently upgraded my galaxy ace to gingerbread using Kies, loved the upgrade except for one thing. The sound levels coming out of the speaker are greatly increased and distorted at the highest volumes. this applies to the startup sound, ringtones and mp3 playback.
in order to get a decent volume which doesn't distort when using the phone over an external speaker system (car or home stereo) i had to turn the device volume down and the stereo volume up so loud that when data comes to the phone the noise is unacceptable.
I have since bricked my phone through unrelated stupidity and received a replacement which has Froyo. I would like to upgrade to gingerbread, but not if the sound is messed up like before.
has anyone else experienced these sound level issues after upgrading? and is there a way to avoid them or at least rectify them?
thanks in advance

Thanks Guys
I'm thinking it must be a ROM thing and not something adjustable with an app, mainly because the start up jingle was at least twice as loud.
been doing various google searches and finally came up with a link (which I'm not allowed to post yet) which shows how to use service mode to change volume levels, So I'll probably give it a go and try this if it reoccurs.
I'll let you know how i get on
A) Enter service mode by typing below code on your dialer :
*#*#197328640#*#*
click the following:
[5] AUDIO
[1] NB (VOICE CALL)
Choose Handset, headset, Speaker (which ever you want higher volume)
[1] VOLUME
[1] SRC Speech RX Volume
Change default values and lower the values any number of your choosing, here is an example:
[0]0_lvl : 68
[1]1_lvl : 72
[2]2_lvl : 76
[3]3_lvl : 80
[4]4_lvl : 84
[5]5_lvl : 88 Higher these values of u want louder xD volume improvement.
Can also edit the values from:
[2]DST I2S1 TX Volume
[3]SRC I2S1 RX Volume: 100
[4]DST Speech TX Volume: 94
Just select a normal lvl if anything is wrong, hope it help you

thanks for that, thats pretty much the information I found on google with the exception of the values you've given, so thanks for that.
Since posting, I've successfully upgraded to gingerbread with no volume issues. I have checked the service menu regardless and strangely the audio menu isn't accessible now , when it was beforehand.
Thanks again
Hi all
I'm trying to change the in/out call volume levels for speaker, earphones and mic on my xiaomi mi2s running CM11.I know that i have to change settings in "snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3" file but i can't figure out which ones, e.g for speaker i found a section device called "speaker" but which is the right setting RX3 RX4 or both??I've found few info here and there for various devices but there are some differences, so i would be grateful if someone could help with my questions, which are:
1)For everything related to speaker or earphone volume i must change the RX digital volumes?A specific one or all like RX3 RX4 etc. ?
2)For mic volume i should edit DEC volume values under mic related Tx devices?
3)How do i disable second mic for noise cancelation?
Also if anyone knows what all these RXs TXs and DECs represent pls share your knowledge.A lot people dealing with this problem on various devices but there isn't much info around.
Thanks for your time.
Anyone...?
Hi,
Does anybody here have the knowledge of editing mixerpath.xml for inceasing in-call volume and mic gain and increasing call CLARITY ???
I see that there are multiple mixerpath xmls in system/vendor/etc and also there are multiple "volumes" default value for all is 84.
I wen ahead and cahnged all 84 to 92 but i think thats not how it works.,
Some value is for top mic sensivity for noise cancellation and one is for real bottom mic sensitivity and one if for speaker voilume and one for earpiece volume.
If somebody with the knowledge can be kind enough to let me know what values are what?
TIA
I am months same question to this, a unique way to get and change the custom kernel that has the volume control configurable via the application kernel manager. I wanted to do the same manually in the file mixer xml as well, but it seems that nobody got it, or hides how to do it.
