Anybody help me, please!
After I tried to use i-mate ROM 1.72, I realised it had some big bugz that causes when U use/install some kinda' applications it freezes totally and when you want reset your device the XDA2 doesn't boot the system, and you just see the bootimage and booting stops. It happens accidentally not depends on you at first sight.
Ok, I thought, I restore the system after a hard reset from my SDCard with XBackup. But after restore (XBackup said: "restore is complete") that freezing happend again. Just the bootimage, not more.
That's why I downgraded the ROM to O2_1.60 and tried to restore my backup file on SDcard created by XBackup. It worked, but it has another problem: after restore process xda2 can't see the 'Storage' and 'Extended_ROM' folders although after hard reset it seemed.
In the registry (\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Storage Manager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC & TRUEFFS_DOC2) everything is normal and values the same than before the hard reset.
So, anybody has an idea what's happend and how can I get to visible this two folders ('Storage' and 'Extended_ROM')?

Can you put it here or give me a link or an ftp site where I can download it? I've been searching for it for 3 days and I can't find it anywhere on the net

Welcome to the club... I have the same problem and NO ONE knows whats wrong... I used Sprite Backup...
I gave up and trying to live without that freacking 16 MB Storage
My current rom is Qtek 1.72
And rom 1.60 won't help it...

I have the same problem. After upgrading to 1.66 my "Storage" disappeared. How do I get it back?

I spend hours on searching a solution for this in the registry... The only solution is to perform a new hard-reset en re-install everything manually...

Me fixed mine flash that rome which you had during backup, mine was "T-Mobile 1.6.06 rom" and then restore your data.. everything back to normal :wink:
Hey guys.. after like 2 months i still havent figured out what to do after following thousands of guides..
I've tried rooting my hero but it stucks on downloading .boot.img = FAILED (remote:no access) or sth like that.. i have followed every step in like 20+ guides?and i always get the same error no matter what i do.. also the one-click flash rooting fails because from what i've been told i have an updated kernel (or how its called) version and it is fixed :/
any info u might want i am open to tell you (like my kernel version etc) i just dont know what u need to "solve" my problem ;d just ask!
i just want to root it so i can have apps on my sd, bluetooth and nothing else

so i somehow managed to downgrade my hero, flash it through recovery and i can access the new menu from home + power button but it still says am not rooted... any ideas?:/
You have achieved major hurdles.
To get root you have to flash rooted rom like Mocado's. I have v2.8 which I think has everything I wanted. You can have your own choice>>>

after all the good progress i've had..
i managed to root it, partition my SD and when i tried to move my apps it, midway, it asked me to restart my device..so i did.. and now all my apps are gone, factory reset has been made, contacts are lost, messages are lost..almost EVERYTHING is lost apart from application shortucts-.- :S i have made a backup but i dont know how to use it (lol-.-) pls reply

You flashed Amons recovery... With it you can format and partition sd card, and flash rom of your choice.
Yes you loose everything when flashing rom. You could have copied your contact on sim or sd, same for applications. You can reinstall but a word of advice,
Do your wipes first, I mean to ensure smooth running of rom. Hope it helps.

how can i do a backup for my contacts and messages? i have the .img files ;/
when i fastboot it says remote: not allow
also htc sync doesnt work now
and when i restore from recovery boot it says nandroid mobile sh failed run via console ;/

Re- restoring contacts, I dont know any easy way but all your sim contacts can be copied. All phone contacts will have been wiped ,that swhat happenes when we install new os.
i thought it was the other way around and i copied everything on my mobile.. lol..
anw doesnt matter ;d just had 40 contacts anw ;d
can i restore messages, application saves and application folders at least? btw my phone aint working on htc sync now ROMS are still on btw

Just one thing. Refrain from using foul languages as this forum is open to all ages of members and it will also reflect bad on you.
Install something like Astro, open it ,click menu and go from there to back up all your installed apps.

also thats what i mean, all my apps and their saves/settings are on backup.imgs :/ my hero is like a brand new one with modaco installed and nothing else... and htc sync doesnt load it, although i can use mass storage
Back up images are actually of rom itself. Sorry I dont know how to reinstate sms messages. This questiones was asked by a friend about his iPhone and again I couldnt answer as I never owned iPhone.

just wanna know what to do now so i get a partition on my SD.. i have a 2gb card which was partitioned before but i restored it.. i want 2 things
1) howto partition it for automatic saving apps on SD! and not having to move them everytime
2) how to make HTC sync works -.- i think i "broke" it:S i reinstalled it 4 times so far..nothing..
1) Format and partition feature s in your recovery. Format the whole card as fat32 and next make partition but again you will loose everything on card! After that you will need to mount your sd card ( option in recovery) so that you can put copy back everything on it. But why do you want to do it if everything is working?
2) Do you see ADB in system properties? If yes, drivers are installed correctly.
It is worth browsing Dream forums as Dream was first Android phone hence more to read and almost all can be related to Magic and Hero units operational practices except rooting and flashing bits.

atm i am looking for another application to connect to my hero to install other apks :/ currently i have apps2sd on hero although and i was wondering if all i have to do is Copy apps to SD and thats all? (whats dalvik cache that asks me to copy btw?)

1) i've read that modaco doesnt work with HTC sync anymore sometimes.. so i was wondering if there is anyway i can install apk without htc sync?
(tried with adb had 2 different errors)

This is regarding the folder SDCARD on SGT10.1.
Is it safe to delete all data that reside under folder /sdcard? Reason is its too messy in there.
I am going to flash rom/kernel very soon so this is perfect time to clean up and start from scratch.
I dont want to take any backup, just want to rebuild the tablet with clean ROM installation.
Any advice/tips appreciated.

If it's external you could do it as it is of your own (if you haven't got important stuff in there). The internal one you must not delete, because I guess it could delete some important files and might cause some problems
i achieved this by going back to stock rom - flashed it with odin and used pit file for recreating the partition so now all wiped and it is now like brand new tablet.

My Prime has been rooted for months now, and I've flashed dozens of ROMS without any issues at all.
Suddenly, after flashing my most recent ROM (CyanogenMOD 9 RC2) I am unable to write to, or delete files and folders from internal storage/sdcard/
I have tried flashing a different ROM, fix permissions from within Clockwork Recovery, Factory Reset, deleting with Root Explorer (selecting Mount R/W) but nothing has yet worked. As a result my Prime is borderline useless.
I am able to create new folders and files within internal storage/sdcard/ and delete them. It is just the existing files that I am having the issues with.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Google hasn't been a great deal of help!

I'm trying a last resort thing . I have Andrawook P2.1 and i was thinking of wiping my data completely in the Aroma installation if it worked i'll hit you with a PM .
Make sure u have the rom u want installed and back up all files and apps
Power down, boot up by holding power and volume down.
When u see more tested display let go of both.
Wait till u see the three icons
Press volume down till u get to the first icon
It will wipe the data on your internal sd without touching ur rom
After reboot and restore!

My friend's TF201 has this problem but never had it back when he had rooted stock (.28, I believe). We decided to unlock, did nvflash, flashed TWRP, and then flashed EOS #43 with no problems. But suddenly we can't write to his internal storage whether it's by moving files or creating a folder. We tried deleting the sample photos in the pictures folder that Asus put there and we can't seem to delete them. When we tried taking a screenshot, the error in the title appears. It seems to me like something is blocking us from writing to the internal storage because it's "in use"... whatever that means.
I've tried Googling this topic and it's mentioned in a few forums but no one has a solid solution. The very few times it's been mentioned, people talk about relocking the device and then unlocking again. As far as I know we can't relock out TF201s.
Has anyone had this problem before? Or does anyone have any idea what this is all about and how we can fix this?

Problem solved! The /data partition was broken so we had to do a complete full wipe. Thanks to everyone in #asus-transformer for the help!
I have found a solution. You have to format the /sdcard inside recovery. I also formatted the external sdcard, but I don't think that was the problem. I hope this helps.

I'm sorry. My TF201 has been bricked for a long time now and I don't recall what we did to fix my friend's TF201.

To solve the problem Make sure the saving directory is created.
create folder ..in SdCard/pictures/Screenshots
