i could hack Radio rom from Cinglar,and make Flashable file.
2 of them,,Version 1.10 and 1.16 were tested on my VarioII.
i tried to upload them onto xda-FTP many times but fialed.
so i uploaded to my FTP for you guys.
instruction of upgrade also there.

How did you manage to cook the type 2 radio rom??
Is Ma_Upgrade_NoID working with the hermes bootloader?? AFAIK the bootloader lacks wdata command... (replaced by 'wdatah')
Is it that you need only rwdata but not wdata to flash radio?
An explanation of the process to create the working nbf out of the extracted .nb files would be very useful!

I am receiving country id error : 120 while attempting to upgrade the radio from Cingular 1.31 ( radio 1.13). Even when i ran the upgrade second time device seems to go into radio update screen but just sits there and doing nothing.
then the radio updare error comes up. following the soft reset I have checked device information and radio version is still: 1.13
device is HTC TyTN, originally shipped with Italian ROM.
any ideas?
@superduper: I guess you need a 1.04 bootloader to perform the radio only rom upgrade from Asukal, but your current rom has bootloader 1.06
Let's see if anyone else with Cingular 1.31 rom can do the radio only upgrade or has the same problem you reported...
@Asukal: please give us details on how you did to extract the "radio_.nbf" from shipped Hermimg Cingular NBH file
this is super excellent. Now all we need is a rom image update then we can make our own aku 3.2 version.

Is it any better?
So, a question for those of you who've done the upgrade - does it make any difference you can notice? Just wondering if it's worth doing the upgrade at the moment, or waiting for new HTC rom when it finally appears.
Tried this on a Orange M3100 with the 1.31 Cingular ROM, but it doesn work. Just sites at 0% and then you eventually get an error. Seems like you need bootloader 1.04 for this to work...
are there any improvements using these new radio roms? also, what's the difference between 1.10 and 1.16?

I wasn't having any radio problems previously, and so far, I haven't seen any issues with 1.16, either.
Bluetooth works fine, UMTS/GSM calls work fine, WLAN works fine, and UMTS data works fine...
If I see any strange behaviors, I'll be sure to point them out...

Just tried the procedure on mine.
Hardware = Dopod 838Pro
ROM = imate
Upgraded to radio version 1.16, the procedure worked fine! Except that after the flashing was complete the PC displayed "upgrade failed" but after a soft reset of the PDA, it worked.

I can see some improvement that I can see more wireless bar on my title bar after I upgrade radio ROM.
Thsi is cingular ROM, so I don't know somebody who lives outside US can see this improvement, but I can see it in my rural US state.
In addition, as you said, I can see OS runs smoothly than my original ROM.
I was usually stuck when I run "menu" or "button" applet in control panet. But after I upgrade to Radio 1.16, I don't have it.
I don't know why, but it is real.

then tried 1.16 again, finally he could flash 1.16.

I tried the mtty thing and nothing happened. What must i do right now?
And something! If every program checks the model ID when upgrading the flash, how did SPL 3.65 upgrade didn't checked it!

I solved it by Flashing X7510 ROM which is ok to my SPL version. And then i re-flashed SPL Downgrader then it became ATHE400 to ATHE100 SPL 1.20 now I'm back to X7500 world

this was because SPL 3.65 is only intended for x7510, and so I edited it to only accept ATHE400 roms. anyway I see you fixed the issue and don't drink that much in future
Did some searching on this forum on updating an i-mate smartflip and not having much luck figuring out which ROM for US English to use and how to load.
I tried loading ruu_star100_4.1.502.5_02.79.30_cws_ship but I get error 294 Invalid Vendor ID which is not too surprising as I believe this is Cingular's ROM.
So I installed the registry editor and set the three policy values as documented and then executed SDA_ApplicationUnlock and again ruu_star100_4.1.502.5_02.79.30_cws_ship.
Still get the same error regarding invalid vendor.
Sure would appreciate advice on the best or current ROM to replace what is on the i-mate Smartflip and steps I need to execute to get ROM to load.

Yep I been thru the post of current ROMs and I have the i-mate ROM listed in that post on my phone, that is how it came in the package. Since I am not impressed with i-mate ROM I tried to replace it with the Cingular 3125 ROM thinking is runs better.
Just trying to figure out how to load either the Cingular or Qteck ROM.

CID unlock your device, you wont be impressed with the other roms either. Get one of the wm6 roms.

I mad a big Mistake, I flashed my room with the Radio NBH file, My room v. 1.25 , IPL-V1.00
ATHE100, SPL-V1.07.0000. I download the new Radio 1.57 NBH file and use the ROMUpdateUtility.exe wich I got it from the Temp files came from upgrading the room to 6.5. coz I did not know how to upgrade the radio.
The proccess began and after few seconds the device stope responding except that I can but it in bootloader status. I think the Room is dameged and I need a way to recover the system again and upgrade it to the leatest ver.
Please if someone can Help.

Sorry to hear this.
You should have read a bit more first as you would have realised that you can't flash a radio without unlocking.
Using the unlocker would have changed the SPL to 1.2 and allowed you to flash the radio.
Have you tried doing a hard reset first?
You can only flash the original branded ROM for your machine now if you can find it.
Have a look in the wiki for original shipped roms.
I have a feeling the SPL1.07 was a dutch or german ROM that is very hard to find.

Hello all. I am starting this thread to be sure of what i will be doing with my HTC HD2. I spent around 3hours reading everything i could find on the topic, but with all those different builds, SPL, HSPL 1 2 3, and Roms, i am a bit lost now.
My problem is easy. I have a dutch HD2. I would like to have english rom. I dont care really about custom rom, i just would need an english rom, ideally official WWE latest rom.
My HD2 came from factory, and i probably did the mistake of updating right away. (i was hoping that the future and updated roms would allow for an easy language change.. but to my dismay, no...why is it so hard to change to english, OMG ). Right now, here is the status of my HD2
RAM: 512
Manila version 2.5.20181527.0
Rom: 3.14.404.2 (04666) NLD
I read that to be able to flash any rom (i would like to flash the latest WWE rom from HTC website) i was to install HSPL 2. But to install HSPL 2, your system needs to be:

Second, if install works (i will try in a couple of hours), i can then install HSPL without having to boot from SD card, right? That was the old method.
But it says: In HSPL2 you can select which version of SPL you want to install in the device.

I have checked many threads today, i think you are mistaken. Translating what myself? And there is only 1 language included in the rom build, and not several languages unfortunately. If this was the case i think there would be around 50% less questions on forums. Why did HTC lock 1 language on 1 os.. In a country like belgium, where we have 3 national languages, you can imagine the problem
Also, i do not with to tweak with registry values to change manila language, which would make me lose certain sounds.

first flash that nld rom over usb, then when it restarts the phone quickly enter bootloader, (pull the battery if you have to, no need to let windows set up)
then wilst in bootloader, run hspl2, in the dropdown choose 1.42.hspl or 1.66.hspl (one of those is likely already. selected)
flash the wwe rom over usb.
done.
