I just got my Atrix yesterday, I seem to have the issue where it wont successfully log in to google talk which also means that I cant download apps. I've tried making a new account which also failed to work. Are there any ideas out there for how I could fix it?

I had the same problem and figured out that it was Droid Wall keeping Gtalk from connecting. Make sure Talk can access the network freely.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
Real solution

After cloning a samsung gio s5660 through a CWM backup I started experiencing the same issue. Heres What REALLY happens.
Google authenticates you in their services trought unique "keys" which are automatically generated upon system installation / factory reset, so if you clone your device or install a rom which has these "keys" pre-installed, obviously, your rom will only autheticate you in google servers if your phone is the only one using the service at that given time... Upon failure, your phone assumes to be the one who's wrong, and google servers won't autheticate you until you either tell your phone he is not wrong (by deleting the data from play store, which resets its status and errors) or you change the "keys". SO, what can we learn from this? deleting the play store data IS a temporary solution, and won't solve a thing. Let's delete the duplicated keys shall we?
Navigate with your favourite folder explorer on your android (I use X-plore, you can tell me anything, there's nothing better) to the following directory:
- "(root)/data/data/com.google.android.gsf"
Now you have two real options, either you may delete the all folder, which was the perfect solution for me, since my rom is prepared to re-create it upon phone restart and new keys will be generated, OR, you might want to just delete the contents of app_sslcache inside com.google.android.gsf whish are THE KEYS I HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS ALL TIME, YEEEIHHHH and reboot your phone...
Needless to say, take a nandroid backup before you do any of this...
Thank me later
For those who remember me from symbian s60v3 phones, yes, it is me, I'm back, and I've moved to the droid world, it's much better indeed
Let me just say, I have no idea why this thread was moved or resurrected. Whoever did so was about a year and a half too late. Please close/delete this thread.

no need for big letters mate
maybe do a full wipe and try opening another account from the market that may work.
I assume you have a gmail address and have used it on the device to log in?
When you log into your Android Market account via your PC, using this gmail address, what do you see in My Market Account/Settings?
You should see a list of devices there under My Devices and a list including headers like
NICKNAME VISIBILITY MAKER MODEL CARRIER LAST USED, etc.
Sorry for using big letters. My intention was to get a quick attention.
Yes I used my gmail account thru my Device many times.
But under My devices, it shows "There are no Android devices associated with this account."
whether I should use some special application to associate my device.?
What version of Android Market do you have on your phone?
What ROM? Carrier?
Have you tried signing out, recovering your password and signing back in?

I suggest you simply do a factory restore, that will wipe most stuff on your phone but I guess it doesn't matter since it is a new phone.
Then make sure you enter correct gmail-account when requested after the factory restore (probably what got wrong the first time).
(settings->privacy->factory data reset)
I tried signing out, recovering your password and signing back in method before but it doesn't work.
Regarding ROM and carrier , I have no idea how to identify those things from my device.
Please advice me how to get those information.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Hello!
After com.android.phone crashed (I believe it was it, maybe also something else crashed as well) the whole contact list is gone, phonebook is empty.
I did not have a google backup or any other backup. I tried to install several "recovery" apps (like this), and they do show most of the contacts as available (not deleted, shows no deleted contacts), but only it names, not phone number, so they are useless.
I'll try to root my phone and see if there is a data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts db as suggested here, but, frankly, I don't know what to do with it even if it is - it's not just plain text anyway, is it?
Well, I'd appreciate any advice, thanks.
The phone is Sony Xperia M Dual (C2005).
Hi everyone!
I've bought a new phone and I was trying to get in this device the whatsapp messages from the older phone, without sucess...
I've the same whatsapp version on both phones. On the older phone I've done a backup both locally (internal storage) and to my google drive account.
I've placed the whatsapp databases and media from my old phone into the same folder on the new one.
After installing whatsapp, on the part that asks for recovering messages, it recognizes the database and media on the internal storage but everytime I've tried, it blocks on 41% and then an error appears. After that, it tries to import from gdrive but it also fails...
Can anyone help me please? I didn't want to put in trash all those messages
Any idea? I don't know what to do have the messages even having 4 backup files and the backup on the gdrive... And with so many attemps, I had to wait 24h to get the verification code. I don't know how times I'll be able to try to reinstall whatsapp since each one of the attemps, the time to receive the verification code doubles :/
Hey,
i am owner of an Cube iPlay10
It comes with stock Android 6.
No Contacts app pre Installed.
Tried to Install Google Contacts App (and other) but i cannot save any contact.
Eventough i have poeple added in my google account, its not syncing them to the tablet.
I have no system application called "contact storage" installed. Either there is no way to install it as an apk afterwards, or i need root!?!
And that will be another problem i guess...
Can you guys help me out?
I have done a video of it on YT for better understanding...
https://youtu.be/7z8CVLxNVBw
Sorry for bad english, i am not a native speaker.
Regards
Did you ever solve the issue? I also have an Iplay10 and I am facing the same problem...
Nope! Wanet to root it to store contacts storage.apk to /app and bricked it i guess!
You bricked it? During the rooting or afterwards when you moved contacts to the system app folder? Mind explaining more how it happened?
I rooted mine by using Magisk, it works fine but I'd really like to get contacts working...
I bricked it while using flash tool. Now its not responding. Only when pluged to the Computer, the PC recognizes a device. Thats all.
Try to find a apk called contacts storage in marshmallow version 6.0 and lut it in system/app folder. Reboot and it should install this apk. This app is missing in system apps so iplay cannot save your contacts.
If it still responds when plugged to computer, you should probably be able to reflash official rom and root it. I followed exactly the steps in that video to root mine:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcxOFz7CR-I
The video creator has links for all the files, and even the official rom.
Would you happen to have a link to that contacts storage app? Did you hear this from someone else who has an Iplay10 and solved the issue?
i did it with help of this exact video.
smtg went wrong i guess
i have complete rom, preloader all the stuff with scatter file and everything checked in sp flash tool, but when i connect the phone, only a bing appears. SP Flash tool is showing no response. when i unplug the tablet, then sp brings the usual error.
i will oen up a new thread i guess.
try oneof these and tell me if it worked out for you.
https://android-apk.org/com.android.providers.contacts/
(lookout for marshmallow 6)
i have heard it from german android forum, and wanted to do just like that, but then bricked!
I found 2 in that list that were marked as Marshmallow compatible, but both failed upon install. They seem to be signed by specific manufacturers like samsung, etc... and given that they gave an error message upon normal install, I was reluctant to stick them into the system app folder. I don't have a pc handy to reflash or recover so I'm a little paranoid about bootloops/bricks...
Please let me know if you recover your tablet from that brick.
