Im looking into dcds rom and it mentions that you have to choose the version of the radio you want to use. How exactly do you apply it to the rom or phone???
you can flash radio just the way you flash os.. same tool but different nbh file.
It can be included in os file as well but does not have to be.

Hello all,
I've used shell tools to update my G4 to WM6 Underground and I was wondering if I could flash my radio rom to 2.19 and still maintain the WM6? I've tried loading the radio only rom via Shell tools but the radio rom stays at 2.25.11. When I use the canned update utility with the radio rom it doesn't load since it's an older edtion. Can anyone please advise? BTW, love WM6. Battery life has doubled and OS feels more responsive.
Thanks,
Fabe
to flash the radio rom i used the wizard love update utility downoad from here if you dont have http://rapidshare.com/users/EXGZ7Tthe copy and paste the nk.nb file for the radio rom into the final dir overwrite and then flash i have just this second done it and updated my radio rom to the 2.61.11 by doing that
Thanks for the response. So is the 2.61 the more desirable radio rom than the 2.19?
I just tried to flash a new radio rom to my 8525 via this link:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ExtractedRadioRoms
Choosing the 1.50.00.00 radio rom, downloaded files to my desktop. Instructions on the link above say to just extract and flash, but when I do, I'm prompted that I'll be overwriting Schap's O/S Rom!
Attaching image that I'm getting right before file flashes. This doesn't make sense to me that it would prompt me if I want to overwrite Schap's file. Please advise if I am going to brick my device if I flash this given the message I'm getting.
Thanks,
Linda
Will be fine, you won't overwrite the os, it will just update the radio rom. Just make sure you have Hard SPL 7 installed and please, use the sd method to flash the radio rom. If anything goes wrong with the flash, you WILL end up with a brick...
Thanks! The fact that the message was telling me I was about to overwrite Schap's OS had me very concerned. Yes, I have HardSPL loaded.
Hello all.
Im going to install the mrbang rom or mcr to my Hero, but I need to update the radio to 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 and atm Ive got 6.35.06.18.
Should i just name it update.zip and use recovery image to flash?
Will I ever need to downgrade?
Thanks!
OK, I've tried to look some more around
Im now certain that I will flash it like with any ROM. But Im still unsecure what the radio is really doing and how risky it is? Ill download this file:
http://www.romraid.com/paul/hero/update-hero-radio-63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26-signed.zip
From the Modaco page.
ATM I am running HTC Generic 2.73.405.66 pre-rooted and using RA-hero 1.6.2.
My hero is GSM no branded european model.
Going to install Villain, MCR or MrBang ROM
Hope for some answers, once again thank you
EDIT: .. I just did it, and successfully updated radio for my device. No problems there.
same pb here too!
trying to reflash radio hopin' it's gonna work again!
Hi, you can flash any Radio so long as it is for your type of phone i.e. GSM (in europe) and most likely CMDA if your in the usa.
Just flash it like a rom, and be prepared to wait a good few minutes on first reboot.
Also as another note the EU in the radio name does not mean Europe it is just some HTC internal coding and can just be ignored .
hello. i downloaded same radio but couldn't flash it. since i'm old wm user, can you please write down here how i can flash this radio. i unzipped the file but seems different...
The easiest way to flash things on android is to install a "custom recovery menu" from there your phone flashes the file straight from the zip, you don't need to unzip anything.
install a custom recovery image from here

if you already have this, then its a simple matter of flashing the radio like and rom

doesnt matter. the only difference is that if you have a ..51.. radio on when you flash that rom, (or any other rom that requires a ..50.. radio) and you flash the rom first, the phone wont boot until you flash the radio.
But it WILL enter bootloader and let you flash, so its not a problem, it just scares people a little.
Once you HAVE a 50 radio, if you flash a different rom, it WILL boot without needing to change the radio.

yes, but not both in the same folder, one .nbh file and one customruu per folder.
hi
My friend has an HD2 with Nand Android on it and he wants to flash back to windows mobile
So here are my questions:
Should I perform a task7(If I remember correctly,task 7 wipes away everything on the phone,right?) ?
what is the most stable official winmoblie rom for it?and what HSPL and Radio versions does it want and where can I download it?
If I just install that official rom (with the RUU it gives me),Won't it do all the things I want?(like flash the required hspl and radio and wipe away all android related things? If not how should I remove android ?
thanks in advance
First thing to do is determine if a TMOUS (red/green end & call keys) HD2 or standard EU HD2 (all buttons are white icon) as flashing wrong ROMs to TMOUS version results in a bricked device.
You probably best going for latest WWE version if standard HD2 & if TMOUS version go to HD2 wiki as have link for TMOUS ROMs
You can dump the nbh file from within the exe direct to sd card for flashing but not the best option really as likely to run into CID issues as HSPL will be removed when flash via SD method & could cause more problems than it worth.
I would do via PC & usb cable & install best match HSPL for ROM you choose then install ROM via exe & RUU flasher. The radio will also be flashed with what packaged with ROM you have chosen.
Once flashed I always recommend doing hard reset to make sure all is loaded correctly from newly flashed ROM & reduce likely first flash/setup glitches.
If after super stable bug free WM6.5 I would also consider looking at custom ROMs from NRG & the standard looking but much improved CleanEX Standard V1.02
