I tried to flash my dutch touchdual with an english rom, but I forgot to use the HARDSPL and now the phone is bricked in the tricolor bootloader. I could probable flash it with the original dutch rom, but I don't have it, maybe someone with a duch rom can dump it, I will try to fix it for reflashing. Thanks in advance

When I got stuck in the bootloader (tri-color) mode, I had used MTTY and typed "boot".
This will get your device past the bootloader screen. If the device starts to restart automatically, it'll probably end up in bootlaoder again. You can use the "boot" command again and your device should startup normally.
After this you can reinstall sspl en stuff.
Remember when using MTTY to turnoff the usb connection of active sync.
You can download MTTY from here

solved?

If you had read carefully, you would have known that that rom didn't brick his device.
He HAD that ROM but then decided to flash an older ROM which didn't contain the G4 IPL/SPL, thus bricking his device by flashing G3 IPL/SPL.
another question..

Officiall ROM of your provider is safe to flash in normal way...
Fro example I have CID locked G4 MDA Vario from T-Mobile CZ so I can flash T-Mobile CZ ROM without any problems in a normal way (without SoftSPL, shelltools etc. - just normally).
In fact I do this before every flashing of a custom WM6 ROM

Whe I tried to use SoftSPL-V0.1 RUU didn't want to connect my phone... SO I've disconnected phone and restarted PC (screen was still white). Then RUU "saw" my phne and my phone seamed to be upgraded.... Instalation was complete and there was a bootloader on the screen with information about IPL/SPL - but IPL was different then SPL. ahh, why am I even defending what I said..
BTW,
Why try flashing a stock ROM with sSPL?
you can flash an original stock rom to your cid-locked device without sSPL.
Sad but true, if you flash a G4 unsafe rom thats it, your device is bricked. Equinoxe made a perfect softspl in my opinion and if other users dont take the time to read what he says and bricks their device its on their head, not his.
okay..
so i thought it was the first ROM that he installed that bricked his device..
because hardreset, soft reset and bootloader not working anymore..
well anyway, do you mean to say it would be safe to flash
that ROM (the latest from t-mobile) to my t-mobile?
does it not contain IPL/SPL?
how will i check it so that it wont brick my device? thanks.

you can use Typho5, http://www.savefile.com/files/1066484
Please follow these steps to the dot.
1. Extract typo 5 to root. "c:\typho5\
2. Copy the nk.nbf file of your os to c:\typho5\
3. Go to command prompt and type "cd\" "cd typho5" "typho5 -x nk.nbf
4. You will see the info in the command prompt regarding the os you want to flash. Please delete all files afterwards except typho5.exe and nk.nbf.
Please tell us your ipl/spl first. Softspl is G4 only.

IPL/SPL 1.01 is not a G4 ,its a G3 phone, its not flashing wm6 coz its CID locked. As long as it gets into Bootloaders mode (RGB) screen, its safe.Don't flash with Shell Tool.Just download the official carrier's rom and flash it in Bootloaders mode,it'll recover back, than get it SIM/CID unlocked and then upgrade to any wm6 rom.
Now i've reached some success.I'v downloaded ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe and used it with wizard love but i just reboots after a minute of clouds(((What i need to do?find a original rom and flash it?

hi been told i can fix this with mtty and one got a link to a download and do i need to do anything to the raphel to get it into serial mode
Dear all,
I am facing a problem here.
Had a hardware problem with the built in microphone and had to revert back to stock rom/splash screen/Original SPL in that order.
Had no problems reverting the ROM and the original screen back (just a couple of flashes), BUT when I tried to revert back the stock SPL here http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=110582&d=1220406410
I renamed the file to RAPHIMG.nbh, copied it to the root of the SD Card and entered bootloader mode and this is what it displays:
RAPH100
SPL-1.90.0000 (Which means a successful flash)
!!! AND THEN THIS !!!
"Upgrade ROM code error"
"Please try again"
This message is located in the last part of the green stripe in the tri color screen (bootloader)
It is then followed by the grey screen automatically which you are supposed to press volume key to start a flash process BUT it just HANGS at Loading...
unabling you to flash anything.
It's actually a friend's phone too so I guess you understand how hard it is....
Any help is appreciated
Thanks in advance
Possible image might be corrupt on sd card, grey screen is shown when it's trying to read sd, have you tried with sd removed? if you get to 2nd tricolor screen with sd removed i would use usb flash to restore it to working order..

You cannot flash an SPL from the bootloader. You need to use SSPL. The directions can be found in the HardSPL thread.

Hey man, thx for stopping by..
If I understand correctly, SSPL runs through the device which is stuck at bootloader currently... or am I hopefully wrong??
If you're at the tricolor screen and it reads serial, that should be fine.. plug in usb and it should switch to usb.. then flash a stock carrier rom through usb.. that should get you up and running and you can then run sspl and flash your spl

You need the right Stock Rom to flash and in my case in the middleeast, the Stock Rom is so far only available in at HTC.
I had to take the phone to HTC Service Center and they flashed the correct Stock Rom and charged me as they did it out of warranty.

Sorry about my last post... I misread your issue.
If you flashed the stock 1.90 SPL from the HardSPL thread, then you will need to ask Olipro (or cmonex) which WWE ROM it originated from. That ROM is the ONLY one your phone will accept.
The steps in reverting SPL for warranty / return state to always do the ROM first so that you do not run into this problem. I had the same issue when I was testing a US 3G Diamond I bought from Best Buy (to become acclimated to TF3D prior to the Fuze's release). I restored the SPL first, and then couldn't get Dutty's ROM off the phone, because I could not locate a downloadable version of the WWE ROM that phone came with. [Luckily, Best Buy Mobile's employees in KOP, PA aren't too clever, and I was able to convince them that the phone came that way. ]

Hmm, then I need to know from which ROM the SPL originated and then flash it.
Thing is, some of the shipped roms available at wiki are just nbh files..
I tried flashing with the wrapper exe and the RaphaelCustomRUU.exe and still all roms I've downloaded don't seem to work.
It's a RAPH100 untied to a network.

SPL has nothing to do with the Invalid Vendor ID Error, It is the CID. In another word you can flash SPL 1.95 and still can not flash the AT Rom 1.95.502.5 because the CID is different.

ViperBJK's QMAT features GoldCard generator for current HTC devices that can force RUU to bypass CID check.
Do you know what is the CID of your device?

The CID is determind by the SPL.
Look up the error code posted... everything points to HardSPL. Back in my Wizard days, HardSPL did not exist, and we just did a CID unlocking. This is not the case with newer devices.
All ROMs are not created equal. Each WWE ROM checks for specific information within the SPL, and if it doesn't find what it's expecting, fail...

Where can I know that?
@NotATreoFan && Shafez,
I remember from TyTNII day when Shafez suggested extracting 3.29 and 28 SPLs from the newer shipped 6.1's for a better responsive device.
We could extract and build with htc rom tool if I remember the name of the tool correctly.
Do we have a tool as such compatible with TP? (agreeing with NotATreoFan here)
@Shafez,
Since you think it is not SPL and it is a CID issue, what can I do about it?
Sending it to SVC for repair out of warranty is an option but I'd like to leave it as my last.
Did they provide the ROM or they flashed it for you?
Were u able to make raw files out of it for future use or any1 else has it?
Thx guys and keep the help coming

Since you cannot get past the bootloader, your only option is to find the WWE ROM that matches the SPL you flashed. Even though the HTC ROM Tool "signs" the NBH file, it still won't fool the stock bootloader... if it did, we wouldn't need HardSPL.
Hello.
Okay so I had HSPL 1.42 on my phone.
I extracted the 'RUU_signed.nbh' of the official 3.14 stock ROM from the .exe file that HTC provided.
I changed it's name to 'LEOIMG.nbh' and placed it on the root of my SD card.
I then tried flashing the new ROM by entering the bootloader.
For some reason (power was NOT lost) the ROM upgrade failed half way through.
Now when I try and boot the phone normally, it displays a grey screen with an alert symbol saying 'Software update failed. Please try again'
It then takes me to the bootloader screen
The SPL version has changed from HSPL 1.42 to SPL-3.03.0000
Below these details it displays the message 'Upgrade ROM code error. Please try again'
Due to the SPL version being 3.03, I am unable to install any HSPL version onto it again.
When I try to flash the official ROM 3.14 again via the official RUU (via laptop) it fails
What do I do? IS MY PHONE BRICKED?!
i think your hd2 is not bricked just without os and i think you are going to wait for the new hspl
Okay
Thanks for your reply
I seem to remember somewhere that I might be able to solve it somehow by using a friend's HD2...hmmm...not sure though
EDIT: I managed to finally download the 1.48 stock ROM. When I try to change to this ROM via the RUU it reaches 1% and then fails.

i already know what will happen . the 3.14 rom cant work correctly (in another word works like ****) with SPLs other than 3.03. so if i install it since theres an HSPL on it the SPL version wont change to 3.03 . to change its spl , you should install the rom once more from the sd card which will freeze in the middle of the update and the result is a f'd ROM and SPL 3.03 .
since theres no HSPL support on 3.03 , theres no comeback and you will be f'd until a new HSPL is released
btw what SPL version does the 1.66 official update install?

I found this on another thread, I think this is basically my problem. Joy.
I had the same problem. You have to install the original shipped rom, for example of you have a vodafone branded device, you have to install the original vodafone-rom via RUU.

My device is unbranded, but when I put the serial number in to HTC's update download page thing it says it is unsuitable, so I used someone elses unbranded S/N and used that instead, maybe that's why it happened? Is there a solution?
For reference - This is what is displayed when I try to flash back to an old stock ROM via SD Card (Volume Down and Power putton)

You mean by extracting the .nbh file from a stock ROM? I tried that and I seem to remember that it failed
mh..i'm nearly 100% sure, that it has to work...
was it really YOUR stock rom? sure that your phone wasnt branded?

Well I got my phone second hand from CeX (English shop)
It had the unbranded stock ROM on it, and no physical branding on the phone like the T-Mobile name. But when I put in my S/N to the unbranded update thingy it said the download wasn't suitable for my device so I used someone elses S/N
so it seems that they flashed the stock rom, but your phone is originally branded.
if i was you, i would call them and ask or i would use my own S/N and check all downloads on htc.com. then you'll see of an o2, tmo, vdf or whatever is downloadable.
the one, which is downloadable with your s/n, should be flashed via sd.

Okay, it's a Vodafone device, so what do I need to do? Extract the vodafone .nbh file from the ROM and then flash it via SD?
you're right!
