OEMs for cooked roms??? anyone good making them? - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

anyone good at making OEMs? I need a couple and can not get them made will pay for someone to make them for me.
I need
Phone alarm
Pocket Breeze 5.4
MemMaid 2.1
Ringo Mobile
Weather Panel
SPB phone suite.

It's really not to difficult making them. There are two ways I found that work best. I use OEMizer and Package Creator 5.4. I've found this thread to be helpful...

Voice dialing soft?

Here I go again with my upgrading issues. I recently upgraded my ROM to PK Black thanks to olipro unlocker, the whole athena project, HeartofDarkness, and ITXDA. THANKS FOR A GREAT ROM and all your help.
My new issue......I need a voice dialer that works. The dialer that was in the shipped ROM of my 7501 was great. Is there a place that I can get thdialer in CAB to re-install to my device? I am currently using VOICE_Tri. It does work but only when the phone is actively on/unlocked. So if my phone is in my pocket and or locked, I cannot dial. The original dialer worked when my phone was locked or not near me. I really want this back. Can anyone suggest a dialer that works that I don't have to buy? Can I strip it from the HTC ROM?
Thanks in advance.

Try this! You might have to purchase this one though!
You're welcome, really.
Do you remember what you used prior to upgrading ?
Heavyweights are:
- Microsoft Voice Command (doesn't need training);
- Cyberon Voice Dial (requires tagging).
Both are commercial products, but since you rightfully own a device that was provided with either, there shouldn't be much problems if you did bit of searching on the forum or googling and found workable archives...

The voice dialer I was using previously was included in the shipped firmware on my 7501. I have no idea who made it or if it was simply part of the ROM. I did try the one offered on mahmood's site and it seems to be working well enough for now. I will use this latest one until I find another. I did have Microsoft's version when I had other devices but I often had trouble using it with a BT device. There was one that I read about that announces your incoming calls and other little neat things, but with all my reading, I forgot its name. So, long story short, I am ok for now, but still always on the prowl for biger, better, faster, smarter, easier etc.
So keep me in mind if something surfaces that is a dowlaoad (pref. free) that I can try.
BTW, do you know how to get PocketCM off of my device?

Looks like it would one to try, but do you know if it is unistallable once it's on. I still trying to get Pocket CM out of my device.
you might have to use a registry delete on that one. some how it installed in your registry...thats why you cant easily remove it. try resco registry. you should be able get in and delete it with that software.
BTW...that link to that Voice dialer...yes it removes once you go into settings and Remove Programs. I dont think however, that it gives you the option to save your settings. But who cares.... Good Luck buddy!

3 questions...

I have 3 quick questions
I'm running DCD's 2.2.6 with 3.27 radio i'd like to upgrade to the latest DCD Rom, but can only find the kitchen, do i have to cook a Rom up myself or will a ROM for Sprint be avaliable?
Second, i use hearing aids and i was curious which version of the ParaAudio file would be best as i need Loud handset/speaker phone option?
Lastly, Is there any programs that will allow me to connect to Yahoo for Chat/Messenger functionalty without using SMS? I downloaded Yahoo 2.0 mobile and it has everything BUT Chat, and i've downloaded eBuddy and JustYak and IM+ for Java but Java on this phone crashes when i go from landscape to portait mode. so i was hoping for some sort of solution outside of Java.
Any help would be great, thanks!
2: No2Chem's nueAudio will allow you to adjust the settings to your liking:

Thanks!
Cool, that tool is amazing and works great, i've probably got my phone WAY to loud at this point but it's great i can finally hear it..
Also off of that link i was given i found this one:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17859
For anyone like myself who is new at this modding thing it's a list of popular applications, in it i found a chat program called "Slick" which connects to all the popular IM's it seems to work really well so far.
But i still am unsure where to obtain DCD's latest ROM's as they aren't in his post with the Kitchen.
Thanks!
As for your Instant Messaging. I use Slick (free) it's not too bad, until you get a phone call and it hangs for a second UNLESS you're using wifi (which I do)

Hope you like it!
wait, so does eBuddy use SMS? I want a prog that uses SMS for chat. I don't have a data plan, but I do have unlimited txt...

Qwest Mogul Upgraded.. now I need..

Hey all,
Thanks to you guys, I was able to upgrade my Qwest Mogul by installing (in order);
titan_SPL_2.40-olipro.exe
3.35.651.2 Official Sprint ROM
DCD_3.0.1_Qwest.exe
So far, everything appears to work.. I haven't (yet?) encountered any GPS, Bluetooth, Contacts or WiFi issues as I've been reading about, and hope it continues working properly.
I'm now looking to restore/achieve the following;
1.) I want the stock games back
2.) Which GPS launcher is best to use with TomTom Navigator 6 so I don't have to open Google Maps every time?
3.) How can I fully customize the Today screen and the window borders? I thought there was a way when using a custom ROM.. so far, I've found only the stock skins..
TIA
-mak
for the stock games run a search in the forum for it, i dont use them so i have no idea where they are.
the rom should have included "quickgps" i think it is which should initiate gps for your tomtom.
Today screen is going to be the same, you can't do much to it unless you install WAD/WA, spb mobile shell, etc. Check the dev/hacking section of this site for themes/skins/etc
Glad to hear it all went well. If you really want you can try the kitchen next, you can choose the "entertainment" option for the games, but i'd read up on kitchens quite a bit before messing around with them.
What exactly are the kitchens for? I've got one of them on my desktop and didn't know what to do with it..

I just added a section to the wiki on Kitchens, check it out and let me know if it answers some of your questions.
add link to that wiki
kitchens are used for "cooking" a custom rom.

Making TF3D themes

Hey guys..
I've been trying to play around for a while to make some TF3D themes, but i am completley new to WM devices and HTC's. Just like everything else, when i get something new i want to modify it. i want to break it by running code blessed by the greatest programmer ever, me.. jk.. completley..
Anyway.. i've been googling, searched xda, search ppc, and some other sites on tutorials on creating touchflo 3d themes and windows mobile themes. I got past the WM theme part, but i'm stuck with TF3d.
I've never seen these types of CAB files before. What software do you use to compile them and wheres the starting point to make a theme? Any help would be more than appreciated. I've skinned everything from Brew phones to internet tablets, gnome, kde and flux, xp and media center extenders.. If someone could point me in the right direction to get my feet off the ground i'll be able to pull myself up the rest of the way.
Thanks!
lot of us

a lot of us who do change things do not like to use cab files. Sometimes they are not able to be rolled back. Than a hard reset is in order. i would say to make themes concentrate on manila files. You can edit them with manila editor by dman. search that on the forum. Then make your tf3d icons 128x128 for hero icons and 64x64 for tray icons. Check out some of my themes.
A program you will also need is Total Commander-to move the manila files.
check my threads http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=452958

Make a custom kitchen?

First off, I need to thank everyone on this site for the wealth of information that is contained here. I took my stock XV6800 and walked through several tutorials and I've put on 4 different ROM's in 2 days, all of them with the GPS functioning like a champ and everything on the phone running swimmingly.
A special thanks to mr-free for his prompt responses and dcd for his excellent guides.
Anyway, I've already used two kitchens so far to make custom roms (Titan Kitchen 6.5 Beta 4, and Titan Reloaded 1.3.2). Both create very usable ROM's but there's aspects of each that I like better than the others. Since Kitchen 6.5 uses WM 6.5, I'd like to start with that one, but there are several OEM packages that I would like to add to it from Titan Reloaded, as well as a couple of other ones that I've found from the web.
And so I'm not flamed, I have searched and found the following information about Alex's Cooking Kits helpful, but still not completely sufficient to answering my questions:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser ROM Kitchen Tutorial
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Alex's Cooking Kits
And on to the questions:
1) Is it possible to just copy the folders from the OEM folder of the Titan Reloaded 1.3.2 kitchen into the OEM folder of the 6.5 Beta 4 Kitchen and have them show up in the "BuildOS" menu?
2) Are the instructions in Alex's Cooking Kits applicable to the Titan? Its geared towards the Kaiser, and I couldn't find anything that would lead me to believe it is compatible with the Titan. If not, is there a "Cooking Kit" suitable for the Titan?
I'm not to the point where I'm capable of creating my own OEM packages, but I'm gunning for that too eventually. No questions on that though...yet.
The only question I can help with is your first. The OEM packages from Titan Reloaded 1.3.2 should be able to be copied into pretty much any kitchen.
Note that the Manila_2d_Scott OEM from Titan Reloaded kind of depends on the SYS\dcd_UCAutorun package, as it installs the first M2D theme from CAB at boot. This may be fixed in later versions by making a seperate config.txt for m2d. That way the OEM package will be more portable.
Note that the Youtube package from Titan Reloaded also requires the YTFIX package, but those will hopefully be merged in later versions.
Other than that, you just need to watch out for conflicting packages. Usually buildos will give you errors if this happens, so you'll know.
Awesome, that's really helpful.
Actually m2d is not something I was planning on keeping anyway. I'm moving from a Samsung i760 (dreadfully unhackable) but in an attempt to make it more usable, I actually paid for SPB Mobile Shell, and SPB Phone Suite. I've gotten quite addicted to using them and I don't find m2d to be a sufficient replacement for primarily the lack of ring profiles. Ring/Vib/Silent just isn't enough for me. (And PhoneAlarm doesn't have what I need either.)
What I was looking to move though was:
Adobe Reader 2.5
YouTube (with the YTFIX, now, obviously)
HTC Album
Tweak_Volume_Higher
no2chem_nueExtROM
There aren't any dependencies there that I need to be aware of, are there?
I couldn't find Google Maps in the OEM folder from Titan Reloaded but its no big deal, I can download it I guess.
I guess I should have mentioned that to use the no2chem_nueExtROM package, you'll need to add these lines to the bottom of ROM\XIP\boot.rgu.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ EXT_FLASHDRV]
"DefaultFileSystem"="FATFS"
"Name"=""
"PartitionDriver"=""
"MountHidden"=dword:0
"Folder"="Extended_ROM"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\ EXT_FLASHDRV\FATFS]
"FormatTFAT"=dword:1
"EnableWriteBack"=dword:1
"EnableCache"=dword:0
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\ EXT_FLASHDRV]
"DriverPath"="Drivers\\BuiltIn\\EXT_FLASHDRV"
"LoadFlags"=dword:1
"Order"=dword:12
"Bootphase"=dword:2
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\EXT_FLASHDRV]
"Profile"="EXT_FLASHDRV"
"Index"= dword:1
"Dll"="OEM_FLASHDRV.dll"
"Prefix"="DSK"
"Order"=dword:13
"IClass"=multi_sz:"{A4E7EDDA-E575-4252-9D6B-4195D48BB865}"
It's possible that this is what's causing some people problems with Titan Reloaded 1.3.2 though. If you've already used Titan Reloaded 1.3.2, you probably don't have to worry about this. It might not even be the cause though. Most people are having no problems with it.
Also, based on someone's post in the 6.5 ROM thread, you'll likely want to remove this file from the kitchen before adding in an adobe reader package:
SYS\OEMAPPS\ppc_adobereaderle.exe
Titan Reloaded installs GoogleMaps from CAB during customizations. Since Google is likely to upgrade the app often, I'd recommend that you just download it and install like you said.
Those are the only caveats I can think of for the packages that you mentioned.

x2 .. I find that loading programs as CABs or during customizations
is a damm cool and a better idea then loading it all in the ROM,
just having that options to remove something is a very good feeling lol
FYI: I got the ok from s10onn2o to upload a clean built 6.5 beta ROM
not kitchen .. the ROM is what I use .. got a few things fix and a few more stuff
cleaned up.. also has some basic missing apps, WM Office 6.1 + notes, Adobe,
sweet TF2D dialer, etc.. etc..

Heh, I've got a little more patience than "Give it to me now!" but yes, this does sound very nice. The omission of Office was also something that was really bugging me about 6.5.
In the meantime I ended up playing around with PPCkitchen and WOW are there a lot of packages. Too many actually. It takes me 15 minutes to go through them all. The build I'm running today is pretty good, but I still wish I was running WM6.5. I'm sure I'll come across your ROM once you've got it uploaded. XDA is rapidly becoming one of my favorite sites (and not to mention a huge time sink!!)
Anyone can add office to 6.5. Just get the oem from BuildOS and put it in the oem folder for beta 4,
Wow, its that easy huh?
I think I'll just do that then! This place rules!
