Stable GPS and Nothing More - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

I would like to upgrade my ROM to use GPS, but most of the ROMS here seem to have a lot of other "upgrades", some of which can cause functioanlity and stability issues. While these kinks get worked out, I was wondering what the most stable ROM is (for Verizon) which would give me GPS functionality. What's the most stable way (without all the new addons) that would give me GPS (for the verizon 6800)?

[Q] What is the most stable JB ROM with working GPS?

I searched through some threads and I couldn’t find a definitive answer on this that was recent.
I am currently running ICS Euphoria on my phone, but I recently started having issues with my phone missing calls intermittently. What happens is I will get a voicemail from a call that never came to my phone (no ring, no missed call). Since it has been awhile since ICS was released, I figured this would be a good time to upgrade to JB.
I’m looking for a slim, fast, and functional version. Don’t care about customization, just need a good daily driver. Specifically I’m looking for a ROM with decent GPS (as good as it can be on the vibrant anyway).
What do you guys recommend?
Slim bean, I know the final jb41 build had solid gps, not sure about jb42 beta builds. CM10 stable also hassolid gps.

Slim Bean seems to come highly recommended, but when I looked at it originally the big complaint was no GPS, maybe that has changed?
I have stayed away from CM roms since they seem to be more on the bloated side of things, but offer lots of customization. Really what I'm interested in is a fairly vanilla experience that runs fast and doesn't eat battery like crazy.
There are some flashable files that will help gps, yagf2, experia gps files and gps wrapper. IMO, slim is your best bet.
What you don't know could fill a book.
You can look at the thread I started here with the same Q and my experience: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040685
Bottom line (for me so far) is that NONE will have a working GPS,
and if you do get a gps it will eat your battery with all the Kernel Wakelocks caused by the gps.
Again, this is MY experience, I know others have better exp, would appereciate if you could update what you found...
BTW, on Bionix (Froyo) my GPS worked OK, so I don't think it is my device, but who knows...
Interesting points guys. I have had a few different roms on this phone, and the best gps so far has been ICS euphoria.
I think I'll give slimbean a try. I still need to do the little hardware mod for the GPS as well. Hopefully this will net me somewhat reliable GPS.
I have a copy of PA 2.54-360 with ICS GPS files that jrongi1 sent me. If you would like it you can PM me.
The GPS worked great for me!
And I still got love for the streets..
Gps is tricky with our phones. Each is different it seems. I have an orriginal T959 so I did the harware fix. The hardware fix combined with my use of angrygps.apk. I use "supl.sonyericsson.com" port 7275 in both gps.conf and angrygps.
I dont have DS issues with 4.1 or 4.2 roms. never had.
I installed cm10 and kept the gps.conf that came with it, it looks working OK, not the best signal but that might be phone fault.
Its IMPORTANT to use port 7275 in the supl server and not 7276 as some other posts suggests, the 7276 port was the reason for the kernel wake locks and GPS drain...

RemICS-JB v1.0(Team Remics) has good GPS. Doesn't lock as fast at first. Then after few seconds it kick ass. Great rom may I say.

[Q] Can anyone recommend me a "stable" rom?

coming from 4.3, I've been going from rom to rom this week in search of a truly stable kitkat TW rom. I won't lie the roms were great in every way but each of them had a major flaw that caused me to switch (constant crashing, gps not working, wifi not working). I've tried dn3, r3ds, trents, and possibly more I don't even remember. yes I've tried agni. And trust me each time I did extensive thread-searching to troubleshoot my issues to no avail which is why I'm getting frustrated. I'm not asking for much. I just want a rom with a working gps, working wifi, and stability. And by stability I mean not just labeled "stable" but doesn't reboot five times a day and won't shut down in the middle of the night to fail to wake me in the morning. I also need s note 3. I don't even care about anything else, seriously. Has anyone had luck finding a rom with the aforementioned criteria? Thanks.
edit: never mind, finally found one.
R3d its the best.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 GPS fails on Lolipop based ROMs

Greetings all,
newbie to XDA so please bear with me.
I have been looking over posts for a while and still noticed the same issues with the Sprint Glaxay Note 3 and custom Roms.
So, can someone please tell me the process that works for getting you GPS to work and stable netowr (LTE/WiFi).
I noticed any Rom with a KitKat base works fine, however, when you move into a lolipop based Rom
or CM12, GPS and Network fail.
I use TRWP and have found no solution in getting the GPS to work.
What am I doing worng?
Thanks all,
I found this solution for the mobile data issue:
forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/development/baseband-modem-nh7-odin-flashable-t2882926
I'm still trying to find a fix for the GPS issue myself. GPS will somewhat work sporadically but it won't get a solid Lock like it's supposed to
Thanks, I found the priest rom works flawlessly and GPS is working with stronger signal.
I also found less wifi and sprint network issues.
KitKat killer worked as well but had issues on sms and others were it would freeze up. Connectivity issues as well.
Priest is the best I have found and can't say enough good things about it, wish it was easier to find and updated to the 5.1 base, other than that, it solved my problem.

Bluetooth headset issues with lineage os

I have following problems with my bt headsets: the connection gets small interferences very often (when I connect the same headset to my laptop there are almost never interferences and it works stable on larger distance) . The most annoying part is the sound stops working on calls (still works on media) and than I have to restart the phone to get it working again. Didn't have this issue when I had stock rom. Is there a fix for this problem? do other roms do it better?
Yes, other ROMs do better but this is such a relative term. Every ROM has its perfections and imperfections. It is up to you to decide which one to stick with. What I mean is, flash ROMs until you find the one. Most importantly, you should know that Lineage 14.1 is currently in 'nightly' mode meaning that there will be bugs here and there and for that reason frequent updates are dispatched. What you need is a stable ROM. There are many ROMs which are stable and you should try them out.
Here is the list of 'STABLE' ROMs you could try:

GPS HAL Transplant between ROMs

The general question:
If, for a given device, the gps is broken in the last official stock ROM available for that device, but working properly in a custom ROM w/ a newer version of Android, is there any way to backport/copy/etc the relevant files to the older stock ROM?
The specifics (posting here, though, since I think it has MUCH broader implications to anyone with an older device w/ now useless GPS due to the 2019 Week Rollover Bug):
XT926 on Stock 4.1.2 (same problem in 4.4.2), gps rarely gets a position fix, even though 8 or more satellites have strong signal (in GPS Status & Toolbox)
If I flash cm-12.1-20160822-NIGHTLY-xt926, the GPS works PERFECTLY.
I have to believe there's a way to 'migrate' the CM12 fix back to 4.1.2, and that this would be more generally applicable across devices/ROMS?
Thanks for any expertise on this.
