i recently had the chance to play with my friends phone. he has the new samsung sch-i760 which is a pretty good phone. it is also windows mobile, i really liked the setup they had. does anyone know if we could put that on our titan?
What are you looking for? The clock? Then yes it's around.
What else if anything?
I found the clock cab, but it only does miltary time. Does anyone happen to have one with the option to do AM/PM, it doesn't have to display it.... I had a i760 for about a week before I left VZW and went back to Sprint. Loved the phone, hated the data plan pricing....
I've attached the cab I have to this post. I hope it helps.
yea, the clock is what i was looking for. i also have sprint since the sero plan is amazingly cheap for the data plan. i appreciate the help, and if someone does have the clock with the AM/PM function, please update, thanks a lot

you can goto the options and change the 24hr to the regular 12 hour format
just click and hold on the clock and options will pop up, the 12 hour selection is in there
Thanks for the info. I was looking to change it under the Today settings.

Hey, All-
First post!
I finally had the guts to click "engage" on my Star Trek phone and installed the WM6 Rom...
To Whom It May Concern: Bad to the bone! Thank you so much for doing what the big boys wouldn't for a phone I only got 4 months ago and am under contract for for another year and a half.
I only did the upgrade yesterday and I'm still getting the hang of it. With the Smart Toolkit, SMS Bubbles and WM6, I feel like my phone has finally hit it's stride.
Here's where I'm kind of stuck- I've always kept my BT set for a 4 second Auto Answer and now under the Profiles, I no longer have an entry to edit. Any idea's or am I just so tripped out by the new GUI that I don't see the answer right in front of my face?
Peace,
hawke
EDIT: I also am having trouble using the Contact List in the Smart Toolkit Start pane- in either of the three search modes, a few clicks into it, the phone freezes and I need to pull the battery to reboot. If I access the regular list before starting STK, the regular Contact list will work via the Task button. Anybody else have issues like this? I'd love to hear from folks who've been using this cool add-on and know the finer points.
Well I [finally] got my Touch Pro yesterday at Verizon. Pissed at the RAM issue, I was hoping mine wouldn't be as noticeable (the lag).
I've been messing around with it, installing stuff, etc.. I've got a few questions though.
How can I disable the Wake On New SMS? The registry key isn't there and it's really bothering me.
I'd like to know how I can tweak it to run faster and less laggy, also. Considering the Wake on sms reg key wasn't on my VZW stock ROM, I didn't feel like bothering to look for other stuff because I didn't think it would be there.
Also, is there an extended battery for the VZW TP??
My battery did not last that long. It was down to around 20% after 15 hours (With slightly heavy use in the morning). Is there a battery that [preferably] doesn't need an extended back cover?
And how many of you would recommend returning mine and getting/hacking the Sprint one to work with Verizon? Is it a hard process? Doesn't seem it. i'm debating doing that, because this lag and stuff is just bull****.
Thanks in advance
I dont own a touch pro, but generally when windows doesn't have a reg key it'll default to some predetermined setting. So, my advice is to try creating the key and setting the sms setting you want. You have nothing to lose. If it doesnt work just delete the key you made.
Yeah I guess I'll try that later. Not really sure how.
I'm leaning towards getting the sprint one and switching it over to VZW.
Anyone know where/how I can get it for the, like, $300 I've seen? Or do I need to pay full $5xx for it?
Been reading this tutorial (link) on how to do it. People recommend using Live Search Cashback to get it in the $300s. Anyone have and info on what that actually is? Sorry for the noob-ish question, but I've never heard of Live Search Cashback before, lol.
Google is your friend.
I'm guessing this is what they refer to. http://search.live.com/cashback
Sweet! Thanks, I can't believe I never noticed this before. I'm sure I'll be using this a LOT now. Lol.
Well, thanks for that part.
Anyone have any feedback on using the sprint over vzw on vzw's network?
*edit*
Oh my God. The sprint has a white-ish silvery back and chrome sides.
NO WAY. NO.
That just completely turned my thoughts around on this.
Unless, can you switch out the faceplate for one with black instead of chrome and get a replacement black battery cover?
So one of the features I was really excited about was the new feature in the HTC One car app that allows the phone to read your text messages and allow you to respond without looking at your phone while driving. When I powered on my phone I was surprised to see that the HTC car app is not there! It seems that ATT had HTC remove this app because ATT installed their own app in its place that does nothing but send a automatic text to people while your driving.
Since i bought mine off contract, I am going to return it and buy the unlocked version directly from HTC. I figure that HTC will be more likely to push updates faster then those going through ATT first. Very dissappointed that ATT decided to eliminate apps from HTC in favor of their own crappy apps.
Also dissappointed to see that HTC did not bring back the mail widget in sense 5. I really liked that widget. But at least they finally allow for unique notifications for each mail account. So I guess its a tradeoff I am fine with. I am also noticing that the LTE signal on this phone is not as strong as the HTC One X Plus or the iPhone 5.
Decisions, decisions, decisions.
Signal is because they aren't using the same builds. iPhone has a patented antennae band on the outside, while the One + is using a polycarbonate body that doesn't have any signal issues. Aluminum chassis are widely known to have signal issues because of contact problems and placement. They did their best to resolve it with the addition of the plastic edge and plastic bands on the back of the device to bypass the signal issues that typically plague metal phones.
Furthermore, ATT has really ****ty spectrum for building penetration. Since they lost their entire allocation of 700mhz spectrum to Tmobile in the failed merger, their 1700mhz spectrum does not penetrate buildings as well, which has an entirely adverse affect on the metal body already having signal drawbacks.
I'll see how mine works when I get it in a few hours.

If you use a launcher, Car mode magically appears.
I like Blinkfeed, but that and a couple other things may force me to use Nova.

What launcher can I use that will still keep the standard sense? I guess I can use a launcher that also brings back a email widget like the HTC sense one since its been removed in sense 5. Any suggestions?

Damn....I was just asking around in the forums about the Car Mode and if it's on the AT&T version. I was thinking about picking it up since the developer edition is backordered.
I saw a Sprint version last night and it DOES have that car mode installed. It's very nice and a lot of functionality.

Not sure if there is one. I'll be doing more investigating to see how I can fix more of the AT&T 'helpers.'
For example, to delete that annoying 'Device Help' bookmark that you can't delete in Chrome, go into Internet and delete it there.

What? I was under the impression that a portion in certain areas are being shared... I dont believe that AT&T gave up all their 700MHz spectrum to TMO.
Would really be nice to be able to use the Car app. It's on the list under Settings > Apps > All, but everything is greyed out. It would be nice if we could get this to work without a custom launcher. I'd like to try it out on my way to work.

I use apps that let you add a shortcut to any app (include those hidden by the launcher.. The only thing is you still won't see the app listed in the normal app list in Sense 5, but it will be accessible from the home screens, so for me that's good enough.

I just used QuickShortcutMaker. It'll let you search for applications or actions and make shortcuts for them. Search "Car".
it won't put it in the app drawer but it will put an icon on your homescreen.
apps to create shortcuts to Car app

I am using Power Toggles, which is typically used for turning things like wifi/bt/gps on & off, but also lets you use app shortcut as one of the toggle button. Another one I think will work is Desktop VisualizeR which lets you create custom icons. There many others that will have similar function other than the ones I mentioned, but these are the ones I have tried myself.
Are there any other apps you guys have found are missing/hidden on the AT&T version?
I believe since AT&T has that 'DONT TEXT AND DRIVE' thing and they implemented their own AT&T Drive App - This may be why it was not included in our version.
Thanks for the tip. I loaded the shortcutmaker and found the car app and made the shortcut. Worked perfectly.

Hello good folks, was hopping somebody can help me here.
I have been using htc phones for years, I mean like 10 years almost.
long story short, just got a One max and I'm having an issue with the smilies when receiving text messages. For some reason when the wife sends me smilies in text, they don't show up as the image/smilies, they show up as just text, so that I'm clear, for example if you sent me this smile , it would show up as the text "", is there a setting some where I'm missing?
I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with the htc one, I came from the htc rezound (old as heck) and I have more features on that phone then I do on this one
I thank you all for your time and help.

What phone does she have? I've noticed that sometimes it depends on who is texting. As per the more features on the rezound you are gravely mistaken... Having owned both phones that's like saying dial-up is better than Fios... If the texting issue is that big of a deal probably best to leave android because you can find a more catered experience elsewhere...

she has the samsung note 3.
Of course the one max is newer and it has a newer operating system and etc however some good features are missing.
on rezound I have the home screen in the middle and then 3 other screens on each side I can swipe to, for a total of 7 home screens.
On one max without the feed screen you have a total of 5 screens, home in the middle and 2 on each side.
on rezound I can go around the home screens in a circle, on the one max once you go one way you have to back track to get to the opposite side.
on the rezound I have a "people widget" that shows the person and then right next to it the latest text/mail communications of that person, this was a great widget that allowed me to look at each of my favorites and allow me to see their communication by just a glance, One max does not have that anymore it just has the default people widget that just shows the person, you can't see test or anything right there.
I can go with a few more useful/time saving features that are not there, like the lock screen and its apps for example and there is lots more.
So when I say it was better I mean it in that sense, maybe you can do the things I mentioned and I just can't figure it out but I'm 99% sure you can't.
Yes the One max has some good abilities over the rezound like the size for example, and other things, but some of the things I mentioned make no sense to me why they are gone making One max not as easy to use as rezound when it came to some features.
Ok so you are saying that it depends on what kind of a phone I'm getting text from? I'm not good in that area and like to say it does not matter, but if you know for a fact it does, then I guess it does. Thank you for your response and time.

After re-reading my post I think I came across as arrogant. I apologize for that. With most of what you said is true though most didn't want them but they work for you and that works for you. In this specific case you might be better to go back to the rezound. They eliminated most of those features for a reason to them and I don't think they'd bring them back. Certain roms do include the unlimited scrolling for homescreens though that's about it. I'm not a big eye candy person myself. Considering how modern her phone is that sounds really weird. Do you use normal texts or hangouts? You both want to try hangouts and see if that works for you.

Thanks cstrife999,
we use normal texts and I was able to figure it out.
here is what it was:
on her note 3 she has 2 different sections for smilies, there is the default one we are all used to ( the one under the menu options under "insert smilies"), and then there is another section for smilies that has all the ones we have on the max, this other one you get to by holding the voice key down till you get a menu for 5 objects one being the second set of smilies.
Now the default ones are just the basic ones and only droid smilies, these are the ones that appear as text no matter what, however once we go to the second set of smilies as mentioned above all the smilies showed up on the texts as smilies.
Problems solved.
I like to thank you all for your time/help and responses.:highfive:
I've been on XDA, mostly as a forum watcher and learner than actually posting stuff, so I'll try to keep this short. I hope I'm posting this is the right area. If not, I do apologize.
Long story short, I had to send my G Watch back after 3 months due to massive battery drain. I couldn't go more than 4 hours and it would be dead, and that is with the lowest screen settings and stuff. So after a week LG sent me a new one. After looking at it, I stumbled upon a hidden menu, that seemed like a dev menu. I contacted a friend who is far more in the know than me and told him. We both came to the conclusion that LG accidentally sent me what might be a Internal Dev G Watch????
So I was going to put it up if anyone wanted to trade something of good value for it. I don't necessary need this since I have a 360. I just wanted to offer it up to someone who develops before I call LG and say I want a consumer version.I have other photos of the menus if anyone is interested.
I'm curious. What features does the dev menu has ?

The first pic shows some of the Dev Menu, but there also looks to have a menu to control the battery, there is a BT Test, Charging Test,Battery monitor (ETC) that shows a whole slew of battery stats, just a bunch of Testing menu type stuff. It doesn't have the original watch faces, it has newer ones. Maybe this is what they will be pushing out???
do you know how to activate this menu?

It was a bottom swipe up on the right side. At least how that is how I found it.
