Is there any wm6 flavour which supports a wpa2 protocol? I ma having problems with my SMC security settings. I can only set it to wep (which is not supported with my mac, and a mix of wpa/wpa2 which is found by my prophet but can not connect to it, even doing it the manual way.
THANKS
i am using shadow "my edition" 2 and have wpa2 encryption at home. working together perfectly
Thanks for the answer. I am now using a 6.1 by mastsogo which works great and wpa works flawlesly. I downgraded radio to 2.19 version.

Is a well known problem since WM5 AKU 3.0, DUN disappeared (Dial Up Network, using WM as remote modem, via Activesync or BT)
Any TOM TOM Go and TOM TOM One, (not used by ATHENA users, we have our GPS) need IT to be connected with the PDA. In some cases DUN could be usefull also for Athena users, but it was removed from latest WM5 and WM6 Rom (the majority of Nokia and Sony smartphones have it)
Now someone here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1351044&postcount=21 posted the .cab to restore it on a TyTN.
Sleuth put it on his new rom, I've tested on my X7500 (HTC WM6 rom) and I am having some config problem on the USB side...
My be it could be interesting also for some ATHENA user
tried on my touch and tried to dial from my athena with *99# and didnt work..
Maybe I'm missing something, but why don't you set up a modem in Settings > Connections > Connections > Tasks > Add a new modem connection? Just need an APN, user name and password, which vary depending on your ISP (I have AT&T). Modem string and *99# no longer necessary.
If you want to use your Athena as a modem for your laptop, either through a USB or Bluetooth connection, just use Internet Sharing under Programs.
im trying to share between ppc to ppc ...
hy,
I cannot connect athena100 to tomtom go910.
I upgrades WM5 to WM6, I installes BT_DUN, tries several ways, but it doesn't work, I always got a message of DUN-connection problem;
I managed perfectly well on touch, but I have no succes with atnena100;
could you help me?
I'd say use wmwifirouter for this. It will work perfectly for internet sharing with about anything around you over usb BT or wifi
Thank you Astain, but I need a DUN-connection because TomTom does not use ICS.
Do you have a solution for that?
I have tested diferent wm 6.1 versions with radio 1.57 and I am having some strange problems with communications (seventime lotus notes push mail) due problems with the radio and on the other side the symbol of the communication type Gprs (G, 3G, HSDPA) only appears times. I think is due the band selection. I have been trying to change from Auto to the other option but no way, time it words (symbol and comunication when on gprs) and times not.
I think is due rom-radio are not really designed for Europe networks.
Does anybody found a solution?
You already tried AP4 and 5 beta. Network Wizard from this ROM is the best.
I found the AP rom give me better band switching than others.
Maybe problem is in radio 1.57 and not rom issue.
What about using radio 1.50 ?
Yesterday I installed the WM6.5 Build 23047. I works perfect accept mij wifi-connection with my conceptronics.
Normally I use WPA2, but that doesnt seem to work on the WM65. So I configured the Conceptronic to WPA-PSK, but still WM65 won't connect.
The connection itself becomes visable, but stays 'unavailable' whatever settings I change on the WM65 for this connection.
Can someone please help me?? (Yes, I tried WeFI, but hee see no spot at all)
Thanks for your reaction

Hi everyone,
I've been using Dioxda's optimized WM6.1 ROMs lately, but so far I've had no luck with WPA2 - I can select WPA and WPA-PSK, and can connect to WPA2 networks with a simple passkey just fine, but the more complicated network at my university is causing problems... I need a ROM in which you can actually select WPA2 as the encryption mode when setting up a new WiFi network.
Any tips for a ROM that's fast (lots of free RAM) and has good WPA2 support?
-edit- Tried a few WM6.5 ROMs, and none of them are allowing WPA2 properly ... Does nobody use WPA2?

WPA2 driver don't work good on WM6.5. Try My litle green or other WM6.1 ROMs posted here.
Ah, and here I thought newer = better support
I've found the DLL file someone posted for 6.0/6.1 a few pages back and will try it out later today - if that doesn't work I'll try your little green
Thanks for the tip.

All the ROMs I've tried connected to my home WPA2-PSK network just fine as well, just didn't show WPA2 as an encryption mode. The problem was the network at my uni, which is WPA2-AES encrypted with an additional required certificate and separate credentials for each user. Needs a special TTLS-security suite etc., and requires the user to be able to select WPA2-AES as the encryption type.
Solved it with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=469666
Worked fine with the dioxda2 WM6.1 ROM I was using. Downloading my E-Mails over the Uni Wi-Fi right now

Thanks for the tip, managed to get it working on my ROM of choice though ...
The best ROM I'd found during last two years is Manila Neon by Varunavincent - it really keeps WPA2-PSK AES connection to the router.
The next (a little slower) is another his ROM with WPA2 support (do not remember its name - 2 builds earlier, before Manila Blue).
Hi!
I use Loox 720 with WM 2003SE. I know there isn't any WM5.0 or higher ROM available which is compatible with WPA2-PSK encryption for this device. So is anywhere software or a little trick to make WPA2 working on WM2003SE?
The program like WiFi Monster would be adequate if it was for WM2k3. Hitchhiker doesn't have WPA2, only WPA...
Thanks in advance!
*bump*
I have a 720 too and I am also interested in this!!!
The included Wlan stack is pretty unusable - cannot connect to most WPA/WPA2 access points. Only WEP works quite well.
If you have your own AP try to connect in WEP mode - should be no problem, try also WPA - should work. I have problems only with WPA2... It is a pity, this is very useful device, but with old OS.
