I've done all search BUT still can not solve out my problem.
I tried to upgrade my current ROM (1.03) to 1.60 BUT when upgrade in process; suddenly it said cannot find the device(XDAII).
At that time I took out the machine from cradle and did soft reset. And put it back to cradle to continue upgrade. And the error message still said it still can not find the device.
When I tried to enter into Bootloader mode and USE ROM on SD to restore my original ROM, BUT I tried the method mentioned in some post;
still cannot go to BOOTLOADER mode. On the screen it always said " Serial on the top.
Could anyone help me please?
I have the same problem..
i even tried with Qtek Rom, MDA rom... still not working.
When I turn on the xda II, it only displaying serial on top and v.1 06 at bottom.
tried to run the xdaII upgrade rom with the error :
ERROR 100 : MODEL ID ERROR 1-N-PH-PH-PH
If I try with QTEK and MDA Rom it just does nothing, or it hangs for a long time..
I have tried many times and still not working..
please anyone..
I have the same problem, people, pls help

mine too , stuck in bootloader with written :
SERIAL V1.06
nothing else ,
what can we do pals ?
no one try to help ????
please ?????
thanks
steve
if you have something written on the screen; such as SERIAL V1.06 then in my opinion you're still okay. do a couple of hard resets, put the unit back on the cradle and double click the upgrade file again. a lot of chaps ran into this same problem but eventually got it going again.
cheers
Thanks Robson..
I did that last nite , but still facing same probs .....
by the way , how to drain my batt ? just take out from the unit for 1 hour ?
and it will automatically drainned ? pls tell me ... thanks before...
Hope this is help...
I have the same problem b4, its frustating to see my XDA become an "expensive brick". After trying everything finally worked. What i did, after u turn on your computer plug in the cradle and also put the XDA into the cradle. Usually the computer didn't recognize it as Pocket PC, so u need to insert the companion CD to ur CDROM. After the computer install the driver, go to folder where ur upgrade file at. Click on HimaUpgradeUt.exe and follow the instruction until finish. DON'T FORGET not to disconnect the power or even take out the XDA headset from the cradle until finish. Good luck guys
After I tried to downgrade my Qtec2020 from WM2005 tot WM2003SE the updated stoped in stage 1.
This is what I found in the RUULog.log file:
19:15:11 Connection with Serial
19:16:31 Begin stage 1
19:17:01 CE Erase retry 1
19:17:31 CE Erase retry 2
19:18:01 CE Erase retry 3
Now I am stucked in bootloader mode and tried softreset, hardreset, special WM2005 hardreset but nothing seems to work. I have only a grey screen with Serial v1.02 on it.
Is there anybody who could help me
I've never performed any downgrades from WM5.0 but I have an idea that could work?
Install WM5.0 again, then perform a Hardreset but this time perform the Registry and Storage format (press power+record+camera+reset pin for about 5 seconds and you should see a menu on the screen, by using the record button to select an option and camera button to change to YES. It should be NO, YES, YES and press ACTION button to save changes). Then unhide the Extended ROM and erase anything in there.
Then perform the downgrade to WM2003SE.
I hope this works for you...
Regards,
Rayan
Thanks for the information but it's not the solution.
I tried to install WM5 again but I get an error 112 during the install.
The RUULog.log file:
20:42:03 Connection with Serial
20:43:26 Begin stage 1
20:43:56 CE Erase retry 1
20:44:26 CE Erase retry 2
20:44:56 CE Erase retry 3
The device is still stuck in bootloader mode. All the reset actions won't work (soft, hard, special)
Have you tried the upgrade/downgrade method using an SD card instead of the cradle/pc?
No I only tried it by USB/PC. I will search the forum for how to do this and give it a try. I will let you know later if this is the solution. Thanks for the information so far.
Regards Marco
I search the forum but can't find any way to do this. Can someone tell me how to flash by SD card
It's in the Wiki, not the forums...

Hi, I was just upgading my XDA 2 os when my laptop froze in the middle of the upgrade! Now it only has the o2 startup screeen it won' turn off or connect to my computer to complete the upgrade. What can I do?
Is my Xda gone for good??
skud try aggain
you can put it back in bootloader mode and try aggain
this time on a destop you know power problem in laptop
you will not want a power failure in the middle of an upgrade
hope thats helped
Stuck on Bootloader
I experienced the same thing too.
Just detached battery from your device for about 10 minutes (I pressumed, may need more time)... then do the downgrade again.
in your PC task manager ''end process'' the ff:
''wcescomm.exe''
''WCESMgr.exe''
''rapimgr.exe''
now connect again the device and start the reflash...it works for me.
hope this wl help you...
No joy I'm afraid. How can I get it back in bootloader mode when I can't get past the O2 startup screen. Putting in an sd card Doesn't do anything either it is completely dead except for the annoiying but colorful O2 Logo.
Ok, it just turned itself off so I am after turning it back on andnow all I have is a white screen! What is going on? The laptop crashed when it was at 65% in the upgrade proces.
I'll give this taskmanager thing a go and get back to ya.
Thanks for all the help btw!
I have placed a ROM.nb1 on my SD card, but I get a eror with the XDA OS Image Tool. It looks that I can't find any way to get out of the bootloader mode whatever reset I tried. The battery was out for almost 12 hours but this also makes no difference. Is there a other way to flash by SD card or is there a way to reset/upgrade the bootloader mode. I think the bootloader mode hangs or is corrupt.
Regards Marco
I've tried that now and it still won't connect and still the same white screen! Any othere suggestions? Is there anything I can download which would force a connection or install something onto my XDA or does anyone know how I can get past this blank screen and maybe get to the settings window?
This must have happened other people anyone managed to fix this?
:!: :!:
hey power kite! It seems we got similar problems but your a bit ahead in getting it fixed. Can you tell me where you got the Rom.nb1 file so I can give this XDA tool thing a go?
What kinda power kite you got BTW?
Here is the link where I get the NB1 file

Hurray I'm back in business!!! Talk about relief! Its upgrading as we speak!
Now just to watch it like a hawk and not let this crappy laptop crash again!
Thanks everyone!
Give that link a look Power kite.

99% !!!!!!!
Great that it worked for you.
I did procedure 1, 2 and 3 but I'm still stuck in bootloader mode. Every upgrade WM2005, WM2003SE wich I have flashed before give me an error 112. I have flashed my SD card but I don't get any instructions on my screen.
Is it possible to install the bootloader again or upgrade it. I think my problem is the bootloader.
PLZ HELP ME !!WAT EVER I RESET OR HARD RESET THE MAIN O2 SCREEN CAN SEE AFTER THAT IT WAS WHITE COLOUR SCREEN ONLI ???
I have a similar situation here. Since Nov 18th, my Xda II refused to boot.
The display gets stuck at the boot screen, with no backlight and no radio LED on.
Today I managed to cold boot it to the "USB Serial 1.2" screen and WinXP managed to detect the USB device, thus I went on and flash the ROM via the PC. The ROM flashing process completed, but as I reset the device to continue, it was the same screen again. It won't proceed and always get stuck at the boot screen.
I wonder if this is really a hardware problem? It has barely just turned 2 years old!
I wonder if the screen's backlight & radio/charge LED are activated & controlled by the OS (WM2003SE)? And if I managed to flash the ROM, does it mean the ROM chip is still functioning? And could it be I have a faulty RAM that caused this?
The service centre wanted to slap me a bill of RM1,560 (approx US$410) to change the mainboard. Now I am in a dilemma whether to repair or to get a new device (Xda Exec, Universal or even Atom). But of course, first priority would be to try to salvage this Xda II.
my problem fix ready !!now my XDA11 is working fine !!the solution is to re-run the nbk or radio rom file !!!download the step 1 to fix yr problem !!here is the post link :

Guys, dont worry. You have to be patient.
I had the same problem and following O2 Support suggestion
I returned it to their service center .
Now forty (40) days later I a still waiting for something that had a max turnaround of five working days.
take battery out - start update utility and stop at screen before it starts to install.
put battery in and connect to pc and then click continue
worked for me a while ago... i was just listing steps from my memory so i couldve written something wrong there
The steps are not clear  Do you take battery out and connect atom to pc before starting update utiliy?
you take the battery out so the atom shuts down completely
and then you turn it on/plug it in and immediately run the rom upgrade
if you want to solve this problem use anther pc to upgrade your O2 ATtom
because the problem in your PC not pocket ( A atom) .
i had the same problem before i solve it when i change pc
I tried on three different laptops and it still did the same...would not finish flashing radio rom and now stuck in utility update black screen...any other ways to repair this problem?
ok had this happen to me a few times, seriously cant tell u what worked but keep trying to do soft boot and boot loader, and battery removal and reboot the computer, then try update again...
Each time it happened to me i had to try and try and after a while (maybe its a time thing) it worked amazingly enuff.......i was told to take it back to store, but perserverance won out!!.....
i figured if i have to take it back i have nothing to lose so i tried all the solutions and eventually it responds........
Good luck..
I hope this helps.
I've been fighting with my Atom for a few days and found a fairly reliable solution for the failure to complete the upgrade. I take out my SD card remove the Battery and the SIM, replace the battery and the unit goes into Update Utility. I then connect it to my PC and the USB connected appears on the Atom screen.
I am then able to run the upgrade utility at which point my Atom was previously running. In my case the upgrade that was released in February Xda-Atom-ENG-20060123.exe, this runs through without issue and my Atom is installed cleanly again.
Running a subsequent upgrade, it hangs again in the Update Utility again, but I can restore to the previous version successfully and have done repeatedly.

Hello neilB. Could u, or anybody, tell me where I could find ROM such as yours? I wanna try it to my Atom. Perhaps, God helps me, I could "cure" my Atom which is stuck at "Update Utility" and when I flash its ROM, never pass stage 5.
Thanx in advance. i really appreciate it.

Hi all.
I have been using HD2 for while not.. few days back it started to overheat and freeze. so I tried to update radio drivers. Radio driver installation goes up to 96% and then freeze (2.15.50.14 and 2.14.50.*). If I just let it boot it get stuck just before the red text shows (radio drivers versions and so on) it also makes 6 or 7 vibration as it gets stuck..
I have can go to bootload mode with no problems.. but not further.. i have tried few radios with no luck..
Phone has HSPL 2.08, Energy rom latest, and it use to have 2.07.50.27_2
Its T-mobile USA model.
any ideas.. what do I do.. what do 7 vibration represent? Is main board busted?
Did you use MAGLDR (and Android for that matter)?
If yes, chances are high that your device is bricked, unfortunately.
According to another forum, a technician found some high probability that MAGLDR could cause a permanent memory damage if used with Android. He was not able to fix it even with his special tools - the clear sign for that problem is the 7-times vibration when turning on the device.
Sorry, mate. Looks bad. Maybe try to send it to a service center?

Try chilling the phone in plastic bag in fridge, have. Nbh ready to flash from SD as soon as u take it out, , if it works, then its definitely a thermal problem.
