I am using the wi-fi tether app, would like to use WPA2-PSK, if I select device profile "Auto" it only gives me WEP. I tried changing the device profile to other devices which has the WPA2-PSK option, but unfortunately it fails with error (obviously), does anyone know of a app that supports WPA2-PSK for Atrix. I understand the stock firmware has that, but want to avoid the stock one if possible.
I have a new 32Gb HP touchpad but I am unable to get it to connect to my home network when I have my WPA-encrypted security on.
The Touchpad sees my network and can connect to it when I have no security enabled, but as soon as I have WPA security enabled, it cannot sign in even though it can see, and attempts to connect, to the network.
All my other devices (phones, laptops, etc) can connect without a problem.
I have tried changing my WPA password (which only consists of alpha and numeric characters), but the Touchpad still refuses to connect.
My router is a Netgear WG834N, and the Touchpad is on system version 3.0.2.
Any help to resolve this issue would be appreciated.
this is outside the community but it offers much discussion on the subject.
seems the hp touchpad is finicky.
AES over TKIP and more . good read

I heard that changing your WPA authentication from AES + TKIP to just AES should do the trick.

You should be doing this anyway as tkip is worthless for security. Long passwords too. I only use wpa2 aes with a 26 character password and the tp connects without any issues.

I can confirm that my Touchpad works on WPA2 using AES. I haven't tried TKIP or any others in a while.
i just got my Touchpad (32gb) today and I cant get it to connect to my wireless network which is WEP.
I've finally managed to get it working on my Netgear DG834N router - but only be selecting "b&g" mode and then selecting WPA-PSK [TKIP] security. WPA2-PSK [AES} or a mixture of modes doesn't seem to work for some reason.

Fwiw. I have Wrt610n v2 and Netgear 3500l. I run g only on the Netgear, and a 2.4ghz n, and 5Ghz N network on the cicso. All wpa2 and aes. No multiple protocols, no mixed modes because any mixing causes problems with some devices as well as asking the network to go to the lowest speed and protocol to accommodate the slowest dumbest device. My cellphones, my HDTVs my bluray player, my laptops, my pcs and my touchpad all work fine. Everything does at least g networking, so if you're in the same position you drop B protocols. The network will be able to connect faster in both rate of speed and connection. Passwords for aes should be in multiples of 8 minus 1, upto 63 (not 64 unless you're using hex). Though the lower end should be 15 characters for good security.

I cannot connect to my school's WiFi anymore and it's really frustrating. WiFi is critical when I'm at school because there is little to no wireless network signals. It used to work on an older ROM so something WiFi related on my phone changed, as I'm the only Android student with this problem. Does anyone know how to fix it?
My school is using the following type of WiFi:
EAP type: PEAP
Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPv2

My Rezound has issues connecting to my WI-Fi network at work. It's an 802.11g network using WPA/WPA2 encryption. My Rezound seems to be the only device that I can't get to work on it. When I enter the password to the network, it does connect and obtain an IP. However, it then has no internet connectivity. It works fine on my WI-Fi at home though. Any ideas?
Also, I updated the firmware on my router also, and didn't help.
How can I create a home wifi with WEP encryption? Do I need to buy new one?My router is too old to provide good service.Do you have any ideas of good router? My friend recomment this software to me" My WIFI Router ". How do you think about this software?
