Hi all.
Really need some help here. I'm trying to flash ROM with Medkit wm 6.1 but I'm falling over at the first hurdle - I am not able to enter bootloader mode.
I've tried these key combos:
camera+reset - release reset and keep camera button held
camera+vrecord+reset - released reset and kept other buttons held
power+reset - this flashes the rom but with standard factory ROM
and pretty much every other possible key combo
As I understand it it's cameria+reset that is supposed to be the correct way of getting into bootloader mode.
BTW, I'm using a FAT formatted 256MB SD card and have copied the AL1.dio and boot directory int the root dir of the card (as per medkit's instructions)
Oh, and my Atom is an MWG Life.
Where am I going wrong?
Any help would be much appreciated.

actually the right way for your atom life is Record (hold) + reset -> realease reset, it'll enter bootloader mode

Did that as well, still cant seem to enter bootloader. It will just perform a normal reset. Does this mean my bootloader is corrupted?
got it already. I actually need to keep holding the record button while releasing the reset button. else it will just does a normal reset

i have tried install chiense wm5 3.5.2 akuu and now my boot loader dont workin first says usb error and i tried try instal new one boot loader with memory stick but now bootloader totaly crashed no workin no cant see colores screen

1. take out yr battery from yr atom for about 1 minute
2. press the camera button and the reset
3. load the AKU 3.3.3 or the original O2 atom software

dude thx for info but it didint work i did take out battery sim card and memory card 12 hour still cant enter boot load only a black screen comin and goin
Try the following:
For those of you who have downloaded and flashed using SD Card method who ended up in a brick! ITEX recovers his Atom by following procedure:
1. remove SD Card
2. remove battery
3. hold camera button and reset (stylus) button
4. replace battery while still holding the buttons
This will bring you back to bootloader mode.

Your bootloader was destroyed and you can only send your device to service.
1) your devices can boot up and use well?
2) did you mean that even if you try to hard reset your devices, it wont goes to boot loader mode?
3) PC cannot detect your hardware when you goes to boot loader mode / WM5 mode?
Did u try copying aku 3.3.3 image file in memory card and try boot loading?..
no i didnt try because my boat loader no workin cam+reset and volume+rec+reset dont working i cant load anything

dude its only resetting phone taking factoty settings no i didint i am readin now
when i remove battery and wait a while and put it back orange led ligthing one time its mean my brick not fail totaly ?

what mean hard reset
ok i got what hard reset i did hard reset but still no goin boot loadin i tried all methods
It's NOT hard Reset.
1) Remove the battery for at least 1 min.
2) Take back the battery in
3) Press the Camera Button following with the pin hole(reset button)
My 8525 is stuck trying to update at 11%.....any help?
Looks like your Radio ROM may have been stuffed.
About the ONLY thing you can try is to re-install the SHIPPED STOCK ROM. WM06 updates will also be OK as they have the same CID but DON"T try any other stock rom.
Also, make sure Hard SPL is installed and try the sd card method. May have more success than with the PC.
1. Format sd card (2Gb or less) FAT32.
2. Copy .nbh file of the rom you want onto sd card and rename to hermimg.nbh .Insert back into Hermes.
3 Put Hermes into bootloader - hold power, OK button above flywheel and reset with stylus, hold ALL buttons in until you get to ttri-colour screen. If you have done everything right, follow the prompts.
If this doesn't work then you no longer have a phone. Will work as a PDA but NOT a phone ever again....

ultramag69 has explained how to upgrade it, just reset the phone then enter bootloader again by doing as he said

Sorry and thanks for tryin it, obviously gotta try something else. Of course you can get out of that, just put phone in bootloader, (power + camera + reset) you can flash from there using Micro SD method or plugging into computer and flashing via Rom Update Utility (RUU). Again thanks for testing this.
Gave this a shot but it doesn't boot for me. I get to the black-on-black windows logo with HTC underneath, and it just hangs there. Not sure if I am supposed to wait for something or not.
Hopefully there's a way to revert back or flash another ROM if it is bust

I can't seem to get to bootloader mode anymore either. Holding power+camera and resetting just soft-resets. I can still hardreset, but it doesn't help anything
Never mind false alarm... my first forced bootloader and I was using the wrong power button (I tried the face button, not the side button, whoops!)

TWO WEEK AGO MY ATOM WAS DEAD
IAM HAVE BEEN TRY TO HARD RESET ALSO MN1 BOOT LOADER ( POWER BUTTON+CAMERA BUTTON). BUT DOESN'T WORK.
SO TODAY IAM TRY TO FLASH BOOT LOADER FROM JTAG PORT, AFTER FINISH FLASH PROGRAMED MY ATOM STILL DEAD.

Okay, firstly dont put everything in caps.. its EXTREMELY annoying. Secondly, the device turns on correct? if it does then just try flashing from either your PC through Activesync OR via a memory card with a ROM on it. Consider using a stable ROM from either a ROM Chef or the O2/MWG website.

for your information my PDA totaly malfuction. that no respon when iam press power buton+camera buttonto go to MN1 boot loader .
only red lamp on when the PDA connect with charger battery.
Hmm okay.. so that means it still charges. You should try charging it for an extended period of time and then turning the device on. If the device comes up with the Manufacturer logo then you should just soft reset it and hold down your bootloader combination and go from there. However, if it doesnt even come up with the Manufacturer logo then you should consider getting it repaired.
Hii...i was do to charge my PDA also iam test with volt meter that battery is full power 4,2 volt dc.
So i try to push power button than my PDA doesn't start till now....

I've been through that condition, last night actually when I pressed the wrong button (Power Button) when the MN1 bootloader looked for diskimg.nb0.
My device was near to death. I couldn't find the MN1 bootloader on my device's screen when I pressed the CAMERA+RESET(stylus). It remains dead until :
-I search the solution on http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=ATOM_BRICK, I could see my device running its MN1 Bootloader
and looked for the ROM (diskimg.nb0) again and continued the ROM installation process
How to get the diskimg.nb0 please read this page :

Maybe atom pure had the same step with atom exec when we try to solve the Brick Problem.

yesterday 09 jan 10 it's happened same to me.
my case is downgrade from h3llow0rd1 6.1 to PD4v!et 19971 by m3dk!d.
then atom hang up.. dead! no screen, cann't boot or ON.. but still can charging
This tr!ck may be this could help u..
1. charging, look red lamp is on
2. then try replace battery, then put back on. it will blink (button call and end call will blinK)
3. with stylus try reset with pressing record button
4. if your lucky then it will show you boot loader screen
Now my atom is back again using Hell0w0rd R0M ... (^_^)

Entering BootLoader Mode:
1.Remove Battery
2.Press Camera button and hold it while insert the battery.
3.Press Reset with stylus (keep holding camera button)
If you're lucky, you'll be directed to bootloader mode.
try to push the power & camera button together while inserting the battery and then enter the bootloader mode camera+reset button.
My Atom Life (was) dead, too
..but only for awhile
this happened when I tried to flash this Bajok ROM.
I'm not new to flashing, but that kinda make me 'a little' careless this time.
I transferred the .dio file using active sync explorer while doing other stuff with my laptop.. soon after, I see that the file transfer is done, cause the window is closed. As usual, I do the rec button + reset ritual and flashed away..
I again continued my other works and got mesmerized in it for a moment or two.
Half an hour later I realized that my atom has been showing bootscreen for quite some time..
My first failed flash! Well, I thought, this is it...
Just to make sure, I pulled out the battery, put it back again and reboot.. still the same stuckness... Then, I figured that since this was caused by ROm flashing failure, why dont check the .dio file? So I did. I pulled out the memory card, put it in a card reader and explore it.. I notice that the .dio file is only 18 megs.. whatta..? The original .dio is like 70 megs, so it must had been transferred it incomplete.
So with high hope, I retrasferred the file, this time completely.
I inserted again the battery and repeated the rec button + reset ritual..
Boot loader appeared and flashed away like a charm!
I have no Idea what to do it look like Memory Clear and SPL come up for a split second then it just goes to boot screen and hangs up with Radio Info I have tried to boot from SD also any Ideas? I was using Ski's Max Thanks

It seems that it is stuck in bootloader. Try to flash a stock rom and see if it solves the issue. Remove any sd card you may have in there. More than likely, you flashed a rom for another device or your phone ran out of battery during the your last flash.

It will not even get out of the Steam Rom Boot screen so usb will not work and and a SD load will not either I think I'm done

Try to put it in the tri-colored screen (bootloader), connect the device to the computer (the writing on the screen will change from "Serial" to "USB", then try to flash. Good luck!
Same happened to me.. This is what I did
Same thing happened to me from using Ski's Rom with Max Dusk.. The rom would freeze and I would have to reset multiple times then one day it wouldn't do anything
This is what I did
1. hold down the Power, Vol Down, and the Enter key (which is the middle of the scroll circle)
2. hold these down until it asks you to press one of the vol buttons (I think it was up) to revert back to the last rom that was loaded this will Hard Reset the last loaded rom
3. after doing the Hard Reset, get an SD card and make sure it is 32 bit formatted so that you can Hard SPL using the SD card
4. after it is unlocked, copy your stock carrier rom onto your SD card and call it RAPHIMG.NBH (the phone will use this rom to flash when in tricolor mode)
5. Put your phone into tri-color mode by holding Power, Vol Down, and the reset button underneath
6. follow instructions on screen and dont reset until the screen says it is complete
you now have a reflashable phone or at least one that works
sorry details are sketchy, and I can't link the original threads right now, but this worked for me
