Maybe you can try some PC tools to backup your contacts.
Outlook is one way, but it's not a good one
Try using Sprite Backup
Try using "Jeyo Mobile Companion 2.1" for backup contacs/sms/call history etc..
try sim card using the sim card manager.

Hi,
I've read on this board that database structures are different in WM5 & WM6. The question then is, how to backup pim data from WM5 and restore to WM6, after upgradation?
Thanks.
Hi,
Use pimbackup! or use sync to backup contacs, appointments, tasks!
Thanks eddyve.. so that means, pimbackup would restore pim data across wm5 & wm6?

yes......
I guess you don't have outlook to sync to? =)
Hello everybody,
I've installed all roms of WM6 and i can't open the contacts windows, someone have also this problem ?!?
Thank's for all ;-)
You have to go to settings -> system and "clear storage"
(you will lost all your data).
now you can syncronize your contacts.
You cannot backup your contacts with backup programs and then restore them, altough I think that it works with PIM Backup. Try only to sync them with you PC.

Sounds like you forgot to hard-reset after the final flash.
need file pim beckup cos i lost all my contacts thx
you mean PIM backup?
If your contacts are lost how to you want to restore them without a backup of your contacts?
PIM backup will create a backup file of your contacts and restore them. But only if you have first created a backup......
Anyway, here's the link to pim backup:

Next time you could use google to find what you are looking for:

Edit: According to your previous post here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1372850&postcount=1
you formated your pc and you don't have backup files so I guess there's no chance to restore anything
thx

yes i lost and in future dont like to lost again thx
Before I updated to 2.1 I saved all my sms messages to the sd card using the option in messaging. In 2.1 there doesn't seem to be any way of restoring them
Uh oh. I never used the built in backup.
It's a little too late for you, but for others, before upgrading, download "SMS Backup & Restore (by Ritesh Sahu)" on the Market (free) and backup.
It creates an XML (text) file that is easily read/edited/restored.
It saves onto your SD card at /sdcard/SMSBackupRestore/yyymmddhhmmss.xml
Upgrade to 2.1, then reinstall SMS Backup & Restore and restore that XML file.
