I have successfully ran iGO 8.3 on the Titan using DCD 3.3.4 with no lag, freezing or memory time outs. This might not be big news, but I know there are people out there who love the easy, clean cut interface, and 3D capabilities of the iGO 8 but unfortunately can't take advantage of that due to the memory issues. I use to have iGo 8,but memory issues would not let it run. Always froze on loading. But with this new 8.3 and DCD 3.3.4, no problems.
I run it with no home plugins, just BAFS GPS to tune GPS before launching iGO.
So, go ahead guys and give it a try
Any help you can post or pm me
good to know. thanks

It does happen and you can solve that by Editing the way you store addresses in contacts. iGo has a format that it follows. I looking for how it does it now on google. Will let you know once I get something
it's import fine with 8.0 though not 8.3. Please let me know if you find anything.
Is the voice navigation working as well ?
Is 8.0 to 8.3.1 a single file update? If so could someone attach? I've downloaded the Nav n Go update manager and it wont connect to my phone?!?
Yes it does

I don't know really. I just replaced the entire 8.0 with 8.3 by creating another iGO folder. So I can't really tell. But if it is ok by the admin, I can post the files.
Well, I installed the updated iGo software but unfortunately the new 8.3 doesnt work with the old maps for the USA, so i'm out of luck. It doesn't even look like they make US maps anymore.
Blah!
Igo never made US maps, they OEM'd their app to MIO and MIO was responsible for getting the maps for the US. The pirates/hackers took the maps from the MIO GPS's and converted them to be Igo compliant.

You got Mail
fvultee yiu got mail
Hope that helps
Another update. Apparently it's not iGo 8.3 that makes it faster, it's the new DCD ROM. I installed 3.3.4 and my old iGo 8 works great now! No lag, and I can switch between apps now while iGo is running.
Strange

I tried using iGo 8 with 3.3.4 , and It still freezes on start up. No idea whats wrong, but once I replace it with the 8.3, it work just great.
Yah, mine will always freeze on "Starting" unless I prime the GPS first.
How did ya get it to find satellites?
I have the agps setup installed and working for google maps but unable to get IGO to find its connections to satellites using the program. Can someone tell me what changes they made so that the program could work on the xv6800? I have been working on this for a week now without any luck.
Thanks.

hello I'm French. I have the same problem with my new 8.3, my last contacts were geocoded in Igo8.3 when I copied my 8.0s' old "save" directory to replace the 8.3s' one.
But all new contacts I've created in my phone are not geocoded...
I'm sad, I think I need help...
lol
So, if you have two memory cards, this is what I consign you to do :
instal an old version of Igo 8.0 on the smallest card you have, and geocod all your contacts, then copy the directory named "save" in the other card where there's Igo 8.3.
you all know that the install is exactly the same, no difference between 8.0 and 8.3 for the phone installation. I'm not sure my English is good enough to be understood, but I've tried.
I still need help...

iGO 8.3 and US
I am running iGo 8.3.2 on a Vogue with Navteq Q2 NA maps and POIs. Works wonderfully for me.

A problem, for my important one, is that it occupies much memory.
It is to say..., in my single country exist maps for GARMIN XT and if I install MANILA DIALER does not load GARMIN to me XT by lack of memory, if I install plugins in the TODAY does not load the GARMIN to me by lack of memory...
Thanks!!!!!!!!!
I also have this issue with garmin mobile xt. This is not an issue with garmin only - i have it with all applications with high memory usage. Opera, netfront, album and garmin mobile xt have these issues for me.
I used before spb mobile shell on today screen / WM6 stock and I'm started applications from there - this causes lot of troubles for me now with AP4. It will work in first few attempts, but after few close/opens it seams like memory gets corrupted and any application from this affected list will not start at all. They are stuck but other small applications are working fine. Same issue with starting from HTC home and resco today plugin.
I tried multiple hard-resets, software configs and figured out only one solution for now. I have just simple default today's plugins and qickmenu. If I start applications from quickmenu everything appears to be fine - all can be started at once, no visible problems for now. As soon I use application start from today screen - applications will not start correctly, no error message, nothing. It just does not start - for example opera, loading popup will be shown forever.
I'm also tried with hard-reseted rom without any application installed. Same effect with opera - it will not start after few application started.
Do you have issues with other applications or just garmin mobile?
I also find that memory usage in base rom is too high. A lot of apps just refuse to start. Opera only works less than half the time, even if nothing else is running. Tom Tom only work 7 out 10 times. Movies tend to stutter after a few minutes. I have shut off vueflo, touchflo, removed some items in windows/startup and still device is not very usable. ALso, changed some registry tweaks with sktools, and schaps config, better but still issues.
I had a lot of high hopes for AP4, but am finding it not very useful for running applications. Opera is useless now. Who cares if it is a newer version if it hardly ever works. Actually, I found the Pre-Reease version worked better. I mean if you can't use today pluggins, kinda of makes the device crippled. Oh well, I guess back to using my kasier, until something is changed to make the device better.

you say the pre release worked better. so that makes me wonder if the reason for the memory problems isnt the new manila sip. i think i need to do a beta of a potential 4.1 and try to get the rom right this time. few more issues need to be fixed and i'll have a public 4.1 beta available.

Sorry Pre-release version is not available.
As pawel stated, he is working on another version that may use less memory.
After reading over my post, it seems a bit harsh. I did not mean for it to come across that way. A lot of work went into AP4 and sounds like more will come from the team.
Pawel, I see dutty commented on the AP4 and that he was going to try it out. Ever think about trying to get him to collaborate with the AP4 team. He is a great rom builder and seems to put out Roms (always better) every couple of weeks with the latest wm versions for the kaiser.

@dutty: welcome, some suggestion for AP4.1?
@Pawel
I am testing AP4, at system's startup, 63.52 Mb free (100.83 Total) with Memmaid only
Having Memmaid, Mail, PocketCM(2.1), Resco 2007, Today Agenda, HTC HOME VGA and Audio Manager active 43.36 Mb free
Adding windows media, opera (default page), tom tom 6, I still have 37 Mb free
Adding large pages to opera (www.repubblica.it, big page, and xda developers in a second tab), Internet Explorer (www.repubblica.it ), I have 22Mb free, more than some TyTN!
From the "plain AP4" I tweaked the system for speed, (many tools can to the same, including Schaps advanced config), removed HTC home using HTC_HOME_VGA
I can't believe in a real low memory problem! I confirm the feeling about the system seems "to hang" sometime when many applications are opened, waiting 10-15 seconds everything is working again and is still responsive.
May be the problems reported are buffer problem, a cache problem..., low resources problem, instead of a simple low memory.
I've closed memmaid and it seems to freeze for a while , tapping on upper's bar application tab nothing happens (Yes, I forgot, I am using wtask and quickmenu too) , but after 8-10 sec is working again and is fast!
Windows error messages are liers sometime (many...) !

Low resources, badly written SW (Manila Dialer, Today's Plugins or Garmin XT), many other explanations. Don't trust in windows errors codes, from Vista to CE, they are only a trace!
Hi,
tested tt7 on my Ameo
all work file with new maps as well..
Attached pic..
That is good news, thanks!
Do you have the program available for download or is it already available on TomTom's website?
I heard that it is just a cosmetic overhaul of version 6 and that the 6.75 maps will also work with it. Can you confirm?
Thanks again.
Cheers,
Please don't post TT7 warez links here.
Feel free to discuss but avoid posting downloads...

I can confirm the following:
- You can download a v7 map of a city of your choice at zero cost as a taster
- MapShare is there!
- Reports itself as v7450
- Compatible with at v7 maps, v6 not tested, why would you want a map THAT old?
- Works with TomTom Home 2 (but TTH2 reports that an invalid version is installed at the moment)

The download is a taster version stripped from the diamond rom. It is currently or was posted in the kaiser software section. And in that section they allow the taster version, but discussions of downloading maps other than from TOM TOM are not allowed.
No TT6 maps do not work, the free one city maps work great. And some have purchased maps for the tomtom 720 from TomTom and they work on the kaiser. See that forum for more discussion too.
I loved the speed limit warning and the ability to update the map by yourself (however see my comment below on some problems enounterd in this regards). I also love the voice warning for red light camera, speed camera, as well as school zones (very critical feature in Australia).
I was testing out the ability to enter missing road speed limit. It let me do it. However, whatever changes I recorded does not seem to be saved. If I travel the same stretch of road again, or plan a route covering the changed road, the simulation showned only the speed of travel but showed blank for the speed limit.
Anyone has success updating speed limit?
BTW, you can move the application out of your internal memory to any place you want. In my case, I moved the application to \Microdrive\Program Files\Navigator. This would save you lots of device memory.

anyone getting, 'out of memory' fault ?
I got that a couple of times. Not too often. I install mine on microdrive.
Anybody having a problem installing? I click on the cab and then it asks me where I want to install it, I choose microdrive and then it spins...and spins...and spins...but the progress bar never moves forward.
The device operates - I can use other programs etc. but the install won't progress and there's no way to cancel except soft resetting and then everything's fine.

You must first install into device memory, then move it out later. The spinning seems to go on and on, but be very patient because it will eventually install. I made the same mistake as you in the begining thinking that nothing is happening and I kept soft reseting. Just let it spin for longer and take a long coffee break then come back.

Only by trying out will you find out, I think. Perhaps you could first back up your device and try out the latest irus Ultra Vanilla
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=402654
The AP4 has the auto-rotate and TouchFlo, both of which consumes lots of resources. It may or may not be the cause of your inability to install. Others with AP4 might be able to share their experience here. However, there is no harm trying, is there?

Scott (scrosler) gave me permission to branch off development of his M2D Round 4 Reloaded ROM, since he'd officially abandoned his Titan development. He's having too much fun with his new Touch Pro ROM cooking.
STABLE BRANCH 1.3.4 [02/20/2009]
These first releases of what I'm calling Titan Reloaded is pretty similar to his loaded ROM and just includes some minor updates and tweaks, which are detailed on the download page here:
http://www.pdamag.com/roms/
Instructions and caveats here:
http://www.pdamag.com/rom-install-instructions/
Titan Reloaded 1.3.4 is out and contains tons of changes, check them out!
Thanks to xda-developers and members scrosler, dcd1182, and no2chem.
I'm starting this thread to support the users of this branch. Thank you for trying it.
FAQ
Q: When I switch to lanscape mode, or open the keyboard, why doesn't M2D switch to landscape?
A: Lanscape mode isn't supported in M2D, and I can't add it, since I didn't write it and don't have the source.
Q: Why doesn't the flash on the camera work?
A: The version 5 camera is installed by default as it seems to take better pictures, and it doesn't support flash. If you want the flash back, download the kitchen instead of the standard ROM and customize your ROM before flashing it with the version 4 camera. I challenge you to show me a picture that came out better with the puny "flash" on this camera, though.
Q: Why doesn't the "ok" hardware button open the start menu?
A: I haven't figured that out myself. It seems that M2D takes control of that hardware button and I can't fix it. Try using the start menu hardware button instead.
Q: I'm having a problem with the stable branch, how do I get help?
A: There are no known issues. First try doing a hard reset after flashing (hold both softkeys, the hardware buttons with dots on them in while pressing in the reset button with your stylus. Then press the hardware R and space keys when prompted.) Then try to reproduce your problem without installing any custom software in the kitchen or after flashing. If you can reproduce it, please provide the steps to reproduce in the forum and ask for assistance.

BETA BRANCH 1.4b2 [02/20/2009]
Also check out the 1.4 beta 2 which upgrades 2DManila (including footprints), HTC Album, and HTC Audio Manager from a new HTC release. Also included the previously missing Audio Booster. Upgraded Youtube with working finger scroll. Now using default theme, which can still be changed from M2DC. Also installed the Volume Control. The carrier cabs have been upgraded and are now installed under My Documents by default. No more app bundle installed. I haven't tested those apps with the new Manila. I also upgraded the sys files to new OS version.
Because it may not be obvious, to non-software developers. The beta ROM probably has bugs. I need feedback to fix them. Please don't run it if you don't find it fun beta testing. If you want stable, please go with 1.3.4 for now.
http://www.pdamag.com/downloads/TitanReloaded_1.4b2.rar
There are a lot of known issues with the beta at this time:
1. In call volume adjustment doesn't work (some report this works though?)
2. Custom cities in weather tab may not work?
3. If your phone gets stuck on vibrate, go into Start->Settings->Phone-> and Change to Ring.
Update 09/04/2012 - Kitchen is available for beta.
Thanks!
cant wait for the kitchen since i need SIP change and Data backup in my phone at all times. thanks for keeping this going for us xv6800 users
bitserve: thanks for keeping the Titan ROMs alive.
bitserve, thanks for your work. it's good to see what started (which is freaking awesome, by the way!!), will continue. happy holidays to you all.
What are the two issues and quickfixes?
From bitserve's site:
TitanReloaded 1.0 Known Issues [12/16/2008]
* Location tab search doesn’t open GoogleMaps. A quick fix is to copy \Program Files\GoogleMaps\GoogleMaps.exe to \Windows
* Internet tab doesn’t open Internet Explorer. A quick fix is to set [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila2D\InternetWidget]

I just flashed it on my Mogul(useless Qwest phone) and I liked it, so I flashed it on my XV6800 and it's awesome. Keep up the good work.

Wish I had a Titan so I could te.... On second thought. I will just say Good Job and thanks for keeping the Titan scene going!
Im not giving up my TP for anything ;c)
I just started looking again at the different ROM's out there since I had a few days to try and update things again on my phone.
I flashed this yesterday and have noticed a few things. I will list some of them.
The interface is very nice. The app shortcuts are easily added to the application page. Colors are customizable and are easily seen.
My phone seems to react very slowly to the bluetooth and the music app would not even open. Not sure why? There needs to be a regedit app installed. The quick access menu that I've been used to is gone, would be nice to see the Contacts and some of the others that are in the "start" menu that are used frequently still show up there. The used applications are cleared when the phone is shut off and restarted, so when you try to get to a previously used app, you need to go back through the menu selections to find it again. A GPS app would be nice as well. I couldn't get the Google Maps to find any satellites though. I know the phone with Verizon can be a little finicky for GPS at times. Although I did have it working a while back with a different install and was great.
The camera and photo viewer are SWEET. They work very well. I may have to try a different build and see how that works for the time being, but will be back when there are a few other mod's to this one. It looks very promising.
Also, my kids grabbed my phone and were disappointed that there weren't any games other than the default MS ones.
A couple more things I noticed, are that the battery indicator did have colors to it (very nice), although the number of bars didn't change and I ran it to nothing thinking I was also getting incredible battery life. Theclock seemed to lock up and not update.
I recently changed from a Hermes to the 6800 and have been looking for the perfect ROM (for me). I have to tell you I found it. This is the first ROM I have tried that everything works and is set up for my needs. Thank you & looking forward to your next update.
This is sweet..I have some questions
How do I get the OK button (side) working on the home page? Basically to open the start menu like in the OEM roms?
Also I have the callhistory.exe file how to I get the Voice button to open it?
Another thing is how to I make the scroll bar on the side wider?

The dialer display cuts off some numbers and the right hand scroll bar in the folders acts funny. also the Screen align does not work.
(I installed everything in the rom pack) Maybe I should of done one at a time.
What you guys think?

Do you mean that your bluetooth was slower than with the stock ROM? The Audio Manager works fine for me from both the tab and from start->programs. What changes have you made, or third party apps have you installed?
There needs to be a regedit app installed.

Well, I'm not sure it needs to be in the ROM. However, as I get further away from scott's original ROM, I'll be installing some freeware apps that I use regularly that I consider must haves. One will have a registry editor.

I doubt that I'll ever add quick menu to this ROM, but I'll start offering a kitchen soon. I actually like the startclean app. I don't turn my phone off very often. When I do, it's because I want to clear everything.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=251164
You can remove start clean from Windows\Start Up. You'll also be able to disable this in the kitchen.
A GPS app would be nice as well. I couldn't get the Google Maps to find any satellites though.

GoogleMaps is installed. I don't know of any other free ones that work better. Although maybe I'm unclear on what you mean GPS app? Make sure that you have GPS on under services under phone-> options. I usually am able to get a sattelite fine. What radio are you using?
Also, my kids grabbed my phone and were disappointed that there weren't any games other than the default MS ones.

Is there a must have game other than solitaire?
A couple more things I noticed, are that the battery indicator did have colors to it (very nice), although the number of bars didn't change and I ran it to nothing thinking I was also getting incredible battery life. Theclock seemed to lock up and not update.

I tested this by letting my battery running all the way down, before I released the ROM. I didn't have any problems. Also no problems with the clock. What changes have you made, or third party apps have you installed?

How do I get the OK button (side) working on the home page? Basically to open the start menu like in the OEM roms?

I just had to test and was surprised to find that worked from the today screen. My phone has a start button, which I always used for this. It looks like TouchFlo takes control of the OK button. Sorry. I'd recommend using the start button on your phone, if you have one. I'll fix it if I can.
Also I have the callhistory.exe file how to I get the Voice button to open it?

This worked on the stock ROM? From the today screen, this seems to open the voice memo recorder for me. You might try a hardware button configuration program.
Another thing is how to I make the scroll bar on the side wider?
Click to collapse
I believe that scott made the scroll bar narrower, because this ROM was mostly supposed to be navigatable by finger. I would recommend using the scroll wheel or the dpad when possible. I actually prefer to have more screen than more scroll bar. However, here are the registry tweaks:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE]
"cyHScr"=dword:13
"cxVScr"=dword:13
"cyVScr"=dword:13
"cxHScr"=dword:13
You'll be able to disable the narrow scroll bar in the kitchen. You can also install a 12 pixel scroll bar from the included ROM pack, under Apps.

Well, in my version, the Task Manager is already installed in the ROM. I wouldn't recommend installing the cab for it. Truthfully, the only other cab that I've tested is the Opal Style Comm Manager, which works fine. I don't care for the other apps.
You should definitely install them one at a time. I'm not sure how to even install multiple cabs at one time. You likely only want to install one carrier cab, also. My screen align works fine.
Great work. Looking forward eagerly to the next release, and the kitchen.
I have a problem. When I set up my gmail on my phone it won't receive messages. It always worked on DCD and I don't understand why it would just up and quit working. I haven't tried any other emails though because they changed the system at work from groupwise to exchange and I don't know the new servers since I am on break til the 5th. Has anyone been able to set up email on their phones? I feel so disconnected.
When is the next update going to be released? It is after the holidays.
Happy New Year!
I'm getting the same issue as Elizle. Pocket Outlook is having trouble connecting with the incoming mail server. Connecting to Gmail IMAP using FlexMail seems to work, but I'm not accustomed to its interface. I miss the integration with M2D.

I use mail all the time. I check both my home e-mail and my work e-mail with this ROM. I haven't had any problems. Using IMAP for both though. Haven't tested POP3.

This weekend. Likely Sunday night. I just finished a web development project and have this weekend to work on whatever I want, and I've been wanting to work on this. Thanks for your patience.

It's weird that you're both having problems with gmail. I guess I'll have to get a gmail account and see if I can figure out the problem. If anything, I would expect this ROM to work better, as I included "Windows Mobile 6.1 Hotfix for Sending POP and IMAP E-mail (KB958639)". I'll let you know what I find. Thanks for the feedback.
Long time lurker, not a frequent poster here. I just tried flashing my first custom rom and now i'm hooked. I flashed Titan Reloaded 1.3.4 and am using radio 3.42.50. Also, I'm on verizon. When i scroll across to tabs in touchflo, everything works fine except for two items.
If I stop on messages, the screen locks and at least so far the only way out is a soft reset.
Also, if i use the location tab, i can't get the maps softkey to launch google maps. It worked originally, but i've updated google maps and can't find where to change that call.
Thanks for any help
Refer to the creator of the rom. They might have a fix for it.

The Messaging tab is buggy in that version of Manila 2d. Uninstall M2d Marks Theme from remove programs and install a newer version of M2d from development and hacking thread.
The google maps issue is you are missing the startup file "GoogleMapsM2d.exe" which needs to be ran at startup for the location tab to work. You can get that file from the 1.34 kitchen. In the Manila 2d folder in OEM's.
what GPS map+navigation do you use in order to make it work offline?.
has anyone tried this /or will this work on our player?:

I use Sygic Aura. Works like a charm.

thanks, i will try it.
but it's not free, hope i could get an Asia Map
Yes I know. It is expensive but I have had a good experience with it ever since my iPhone 3G days. I have the pan European version and I have used it across 5 countries with good results.
Navigon is a good choice too, sometimes it is more precise but Sygic has 3D map, even 3D monuments and buildings in some cities. Only thing missin is a "talk an drive" function to dictate destinations. This I have found only in some very specialized or local applications.

You could try this FREE one on the Market called NavFree. It's crowd sourced so keeps being updated and the maps are downloaded to your device so no internet connection is needed in normal use.

Worth a try.

How well does the GPS do in terms of lock times when fully standalone (no data whatsoever)?

No U.S support!
I haven't downloaded it yet, are you sure about US support? On their web site says they use Openstreet http://www.openstreetmap.org/ and they seem to support "the world".
for some reason there is no download option for U.S, they even have Mexico and Canada, no u.s.
@geonahta / all
on which country did you use the sygic?.
is your device rooted?
also do you use the sygic without wifi connection.?
need more info/help, coz my device wont lock to gps satellite in my place Manila, PH (without the wifi conn)
thanks much.
I used Sygic in UK, France, Spain, Poland, Ukraine, and Greece. European maps are 3 GB size, so there is no need of wifi after that. If the version you are buying has the country covered then I don't see why I would not work. Read the info before downloading. Some versions don't offer detailed road maps for all regions / villages etc.
PS: The algorithms of search, POI, and route are working on your phone. Again, no need of wifi.
update!
Got it working! its great.. thanks everyone.
Sygic + Mapdroyd
on non-rooted device...
hope to use google maps navigation soon on non-rooted
===============================================
is your samsung yp-g70/wifi5.0 rooted?..
thanks for your followup, im still isolating the problems.
hope i could make this work soon.
Hello, after installing the ndrive I can't open the the app!Why is that? How did you install Sygic?
I installed Sygic and does seem to have US maps. I downloaded Texas (256mb!) and so far looks like it will work. I think half the reason the download is so large is it looks like it uses Ivona voices and downloads most of them. English Emma is great! Will try out the NAV on my way home tonight. Looks like it's only a 7 day trial.
I just used my wifi connection, took about 10 minutes to download 256mb.
edit: What does Sygic cost, just the cost of the map you download? Do you buy maps of the Sygic site (in Euros?), $20 for USA seems OK if it's a one tiime charge (and if it works as well as Google Nav).
NavFree
You wrong man, they do have U.S. maps. It is called NavFree USA . I have downloaded it; however, I got it from the Samsung App Store since I cannot find it in the Android Market.
I dont know if this has been mentioned before but in the samsung apps you will find a free offline gps for it.
Used Sygic on my home tonight. Works well, now I need a car charger that works (my Optimus one doesn't charge it). Sygic has a lot of nice features, speed limit sign, est time you'll arrive at destination, very good voices...
Guess I'll have to look at that Samsung thing too...
edit: Pulling Navfree USA Map now... at 1gb and only halfway loaded! No one state option which really sux. But it's free!
edit2... my free memory went from 3.8gb free to 400mb free and it's still not all there... not looking good.

Based on info in this thread, I also installed from Samsung Apps, and am downloading the USA maps. Our downloads must be "fighting" each other, because it's been almost 20 minutes now, and that slider/progress bar is barely budging ... Hopefully, it'll be moveable to SD??

I left the download to run overnight, and it's finished this morning. App seems to be working ok. It looks like it put itself on the (external) SD card, about 84MB?
I haven't tried it for navigation yet, but it's showing my location approx. correctly.
I don't know how long it took for the download of the US map, but probably at least several hours. Then again, I have a TomTom that also takes several hours to update, so this seems typical.
Jim
First time I downloaded Navfree from Samsung apps, only gave me option to download "USA". After 2gb+ of data it still wouldn't load. I uninstalled and installed Navfree USA from the Market https://market.android.com/details?...EwMiwiY29tLm5hdmZyZWUuYW5kcm9pZC5PU00uVVNBIl0.. It gave option to just download Texas. First try it said fail, second try it started and only took about 10 minutes. Files are in Android/data folder, 312mb. App is real glitchy but does work. Won't find a street number, unless you have wifi and search for it in Google, then it will locate it. Contact addresses don't work "next release".
I also have Sygic on my 5.0. It works much better, used 675mb (for Texas), but I don't think I'll buy it since Navfree is free, and hopefully they'll work out the bugs. The voices and UI on Sygic are much better.
Wish Google would let you download full maps!
