[Q] Unlocking an O2 Mozart help

I have just got myself a new HTC 7 Mozart and it is locked to O2 UK
I tried various locations including eBay to get an unlock code for it and none seem to be able to get a code for my IMEI.
I got myself a Rebel Sim II with the programmer and programmed the sim to the 1.3 beta and still no joy, just won't come up with service, just has the circle with the line through it in top left.
Any ideas how I can get this phone unlocked as I want to use it with my Virgin mobile sim.
where did you purchase the handset from? contract..
https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset Unlocking Form
It is brand new on a contract with O2.
Ill try that link and see what they say.
Thanks
I recently purchase HTC Mozart on Pay n Go and filled the form for unlocking. when did you hear about unlocking after sumbitting that form?
I got my reply from O2 and they unlocked it without any problems.
Got my code after 5 days of submitting the form.
Thanks chetzy
Apparently for people with a contract on O2 they will do it for free, just as long as you honour your contract term.
Pay and go customers they may only do it after 1 year after you have registered the phone or it may possibly cost £15 which they will take from your credit which you will need to have available on your sim. If you didn't buy the phone direct from O2 they may not do it.
Thanks for the update. I bought it from O2 store and the store people assured me that it will be unlocked within 28 days and £15 will be deducted from your pay go balance. so let's see. thanks again.

[Q] How to Sim Unlock HTC Mozart

Hey guys my Mozart is locked to a carrier Orange Austria.
Does anyone know a website were I can buy the Unlock code, as my carrier charges me 110 Euros......
Or maybe is there even a free version
Thanks in advance!
Hey mate, i got mine unlocked via ebay for about £14 approx $21 AUD. Just send him your imei number and a few hours later he'll send you back the unlock code and instructions.
Has anyone tried simunlocking.com? it's the cheapest i found but i would like to know if it's safe before i try to unlock mine.
Thanks everyone!

Use any 3rd party site, the codes for Orange Austria from HTC work. It does not work for any other Austrian network.
But the cheapest way for you would be to find a local store (should not cost you more than 10-15 EUR) , if you don't find any try any of the numerous unlocking sites that are there.
I got mine done here, it cost £15.65 via PayPal and after conversion from USD ($) but the code arrived in 10 Mins. I think it was a fair price, great service and the local stores are charging about the same.

is there a free way to sim unlock a legend
Which carrier are you with? Do they provide a free unlocking service?
Vodafone here in Australia do, after 6 months or so of having a phone on a contract, straight away if you have bought it outright. So I am led to beleive.
Here in sweden we have to pay for it.
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
I give you free of cost unlocking code Plz pm me ur htc imei no

Ya..It's not safe ..Most of the free codes are generated by some algorithms. It may or may not work ..You have only limited unlocking attempts. If you enter wrong codes many times, your mobile get hard locked. So better you purchase the unlocking service from http://www.mobile-unlocker.com/ .This will help you to unlock your mobile easily..

Just for my benefit, if it's based on an algorithm then why do these unlock sites require the carrier you are currently locked to, when it was purchased and if the first attempt fails which shop it was purchased from?
My feeling is that it's more based on knowing someone who has access to the database of IMEI vs unlock codes.

[Q] sim free - how to get it?

hi...
well.. i got the amaze 4G from ebay.. and i live in israel..
normally i buy the sim-free unlock code , of in case of the sensation, there i a way to do it yourself..
i search for a websites that do this service and the priceses are outrages..
i finely found in ebay in 4$, there are alot of sellers who give that service.
i send him the imei number and after a day he responded to me that no unlock code has been found to my imei. and refunded my 4$.
i have 2 Q
1) should i be wroried about that man? what can he do with the imei?
2) can you give me a relyble site that i can finely unlock my amaze?
ps
i have tryed calling t-mobile, and with no luck, they only give the unlock code to those who registar in their systems.
thank you
I got my unlock code from here
http://www.cellunlocker.net/htc-unlock.php
It cost $20 USD. I got the code from them a few hours after i paid.
As for your imei, he can clone your phone and make calls that will be billed to you. But i doubt that is his intention.
thank you...

SIM FREE

I bought a new XPERIA S and I want to make it SIM FREE how could I do it??
I don't think there is a free way to do it, unless you can ask your provider for the unlock code, what I think it is not likely.
Anyway...as I did, go to:
www.htccode.com
...and pay 50$ and you'll get the code in 4 days more or less. Then just insert a not allowed SIM and the phone will ask for the code. Insert it correctly and your phone is sim unlocked.
Also, you can start thinking about Samsung...Faster, smoother, better and less "Applelich" in terms of restrictions and difficulties for their users.
