this time i m using jiggs rom 8mb page pool it is fantastic and fast than other rom but i m suffering one problem in my atom my background running program is automatically closed i m opening more than one application when i work on another application i find that my previous running application (which is running in background) is closed

this problem causes freeram utility called oxios close apps
if you want to free ram use oxios hibernate instead
but my memory already free more than 13mb this time i m using touch flow 2d in my atom it close automatically in some time and other program also closed
the freeram utility automatically closes background running apps even if you use it once...
and 13mb is not very much (maybe with this memory its standard ability of WM)

and 2nd one is yota phone and contacts it takes 3mb it is running in background in my atom and my free memory is 13.5 mb but i face main problem is that after some time touchflow is automatic close i don't understand this problem because my atom is already 13.5 free memory pls help my seniors
The thing i can think of that would cause that is windows is closing your other programs to make way for the programs you open up such as Yota Contacts. Alternatively it could be because of the amount of CPU resources each program requires... but that's fairly unlikely.

Pls try to help me. I have Athena X7510 and last week I purchased Igo 8. After installing I was not able to run it, but a few forums reading I disabbled HTC Home screen, SPB Shell uninstalled etc. Igo is running but after a 5-6 minutes with Out of memory message crashing. I have 75MB free RAM, no programs is running. I checked during Igo8 running from 75 Mb free ram is used cca 68Mb. Is it OK? Could somebody help me how can I have more free RAM? Is a solution for Igo8 to run with HTC today screen? SPB Shell can be installed with Igo8? Thx a lot yours help.
what versionp date of igo do you have? the latest versions are supposed to be a bit less resource intensive

hi there, and isnt it just a message that say you dont have enough space on device storage? I mean it seems to be not a memory message, but storage. Did you installed the program to the card? and where is stored your maps... igo install defaultly to card... also check your free device storage memory. igo maybe create few temporary files.

Hi !
I' am running Igo8 on my HTC X7500 without any problem. It's very fluid and never crashed my Athena. All the application is installed on the Micro Drive and I should say it's even better than TOMTOM6. Faster fix and better designed.
Have you installed the Manila Dialler?
I found that iGO8 won't run if that Dialler is installed- I had to remove it. Otherwise it works fine, but occasionally needs a soft reset after Opera has been open (even if Quit properly)

I have the following problem:
There is a very useful app called "vbb info", it searches for the best connection using bus/train whatever.. however this app demands almost all of my programm memory.
If I restart my device there is enough space to run it, but after a couple of hours using the prophet the program tells me, that there is not enough memory to continue.
After soft-resetting the device it works again!
I have tried "Hibernate" and "Close- App" so far but it doesn't release enough space to run the app without restarting!
So my question is: Is there another app to free space or is there a way to enlarge the space?

Is there ANY way to increase Device storage on HD 2 (Windows 6.5), and not to hard reset the phone after that? I really love apps, and I've installed pretty much all the neat cabs that I've found among tips and tweaks here (and elsewhere too), and when it was possible - I've installed them on storage card, but some of them doesn't work that way, so I had to install them on Device...And add to that bunch of programs as Freda, BsB, Cookie Home Tab and Editor, SlovoEd Dictionary etc....And, I've already taken care that all of my music, videos and pictures are placed in SD, My documents. But, whatever I do, THERE'S JUST NOT ENOUGH MEMORY ON MY DEVICE STORAGE ((((((((( !!!!!And it's always critical...HELP ((please.....
you need to clear the cache memory of opera , HTC ablum ..... etc ...
Use the Clear temp .... it takes care of all this temp memory ...
I too had same problem .... its so buggin with no storage memory space in the device ...

I've found Cleartemp, installed it, and cleared junk...gain about 7MB of space :/ :S (OMG, I'm going to kill myself)...and just found out that the international HD2 (the one I have) has only 448MB of RAM, and 512 ROM, that can't be increased ... While USA Version has 576MB of RAM, and 1GB ROM which is much more cheerful..And what's the point of my SD 16 GB (with 6 GB of free space), when my phone isn't working properly with critically low Device memory...Now, that's sad ....

don't get depressed, you can install most of the apps to the storage card (and keep in device memory only the system ones, as e.g. cookies home tab etc.), then search xda forums for tweaks to move internet explorer and opera cache files to storage card, use clearttemp from time to time (or invest in MemMaid), and you should not lack memory any more

you should install cleanram as it helps free some ram...also get cleartemp as it'll show you what's eating your space up like googlemap and youtube caches so you can delete them easily...and finally don't forget to soft reset
the next tip helps MOST
one more very important thing which saves a LOT of space if you're on stock rom or your cooked rom doesnt have it(highly unlikely) is moving the album cache...read the thread here and look out for 4tune's cab
you should also read tboy200's thread and look at tips 65 and 67

Since last Friday I've been experiencing strange issues with the phone memory. I'm on WB's 6c and Facebook inside Xperia ver.2 installed. I used to have about ~100mb free phone's memory. When it comes to sync the FB, Skype, Google etc. accounts' data running in the background (upper tray circle icon consists of two arrows) it fills my phone's memory with unknown?? data. I've got every avab app moved to SD. I'd like to ask you guys how it could be sorted?? I did try to remove some more apps from sd and (partly) phone's memory to get some more free space there. However, the story starts again... It (sync) recognizes any free mb on the phone and then starts to sync the data (??unknown?? unnecessary sh**) until it reaches out of phone's memory and stops [at last, thanks, eventually]. So silly I have no idea how to prevent this and gain any more free phone memory!!??
P.S. In addition: during synchronizing my x10 seems to be too laggy for me to stay calm -.-

I use 200MB swap file and 98 swappiness setting in Urukconfig.But it use RAM in most time and seldom use swap.Is this because the Swap file is in internal storage but not in a fast SD card ?I`ve got a micro SDHC (class10) 4GB and I want to format it into 2parts.One is used as swap partition.The other one is a FAT or NTFS filesystem.But I don`t know What is the name of the 2 parts in /dev.One more question,can swap partition be a EXT3 or EXT4?

What did u use to "measure" the free memory? How does it affect u?
In general u have to know that android does not have the windows like "free memory" as it tries to keep as much apps in "background" as possible. To load em faster at next startup.
Many programs have the strange behaviour to have several listeners to startup every once a while or they even load at startup. You can check this with "Autorun Maganger"
With "Task Manager" you can see what apps are currently running. You will be surprised what apps are loaded right after startup - even u never started em
Anyway having "low" memory at runtime isn't to bad normaly - as android will kill unused apps to free memory if needed. Just if the value is permanent under about 35MB the system will get sluggish.
Regarding your swap: "I use 200MB swap file and 98 swappiness"
Sounds heavily wrong to me. As the CPU will be permanently use for swapping apps and will slow down your device meanwhile...
The problem of android and swap is that active processes (like widgets, services, the running program) can't be swapped. Swap just gets u the ability to hold inactive apps in memory to load up faster at next startup. (if u want to know more about it read about the "life cycle" of android apps on google) But since they are on a VERY slow memory compared to RAM the reload process actualy isn't that much faster...
Try reading the Tweak guide in my signature to learn more about memory management.
Before, I got the same issue like this so I used Autorun Manager to manage some auto startup and backround running apps but It didnt work. Now I find an other solution. That is TiTan Backup Pro. I use TiTan to freeze some apps that always appear in backruond running apps like Market, Fring, Textfree...
Although It takes more time but It may save the battery and ram. Dont worry about the next time when u need to use these freezed apps because every times u freeze an app, u can defrost it immediately. So that app will not run at backround until u run that app again.
That the way Im using to save battery and ram

Yeah thats what i use to do - but u have to check with autorun manager before to know wich apps to "frost"
