ive been currently trying to flash new touch HD rom downloaded from Xda-dev
i tried to use softSPL method provided in this thread

however... when i try to run either hardSPL or softSPL (tried both and on 3 PCs) in all 3 cases i get all the time the same error
cecopy.exe application error
problems with initiation error 0xc0000142 click OK to close the application
just regular windows error :/
the hell whats the problem ive been googling for few hours for solution to this error and all i could find was some bullshitting about administrator rights (lol i have one acc on my pc )
what can i do :? ehhh
reinstalled windows :/ fresh installation
drivers + active sync .... still the same :/
any ideas ?

Hello,
I tried to upgrade my SPV M1000 to WM5. I followed the procedure and ran the device in bootloader mode. I put the device on the cradle and it displayed USB and V1.06. Ok sounded good.
I started then the HimaUpgradeUt.exe program on the PC. The problem is HimaUpgradeUt.exe didn't find the mobile device at all. After maybe 1 minute looking to it displayed an error 101 message.
I tried different things : install ActiveSync 3.8, 4.2, 4.5 (no change)
I tried to connect the device with mty and it worked !
I tried to run HimaUpgradeUt.exe with the SPV running WM2003 and it found the device. I didn't try to upgrade in this mode anyway.
Any help is very welcome.
is your machine with win vista also?
as you said that you tryed to install ActiveSync 3.8, 4.2, 4.5, guess its WinXP. if its 2000/WinXP/win2003 then use only 4.2 version of ActiveSync. don't know why but i can only have sucess with that version. check for any security software that may block COM. with ActiveSync-Pocketpc.
that HimaUpgradeUt.exe you use is for your model? as im not an expert on this matter, don't know if your precise phone is a himalaya, maybe thats the prob. ehehhe then maybe not as im not aware of all the brands this peace of tech can became!
do right click on my computer and select manage, goto device manager and see for a mobile entry there, while your pocket is connected in serial/usb boot mode. there must be a windows ce device there for this to happen, and you should, not a must, but try to shut activesynch down while doing this detection with HimaUpgradeUt
Yes I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2. I installed activesync 4.2 again and disabled the firewall. I can see windows detecting the device when I put it on the cradle. But there is still the 101 error message when I try to run the update.
Vista and upgrade
Firstly thanks to marcjero for guiding me to this thread...
secondly... I had no probs at all, syncing my device with vista's WMDC(Windows mobile device center), apparently I tried to flash my device... and yes its an i-mate XDA II, currently running on C_ShekharAKU3.5.R40.P24_public_ROM and want to update to the latest one... apparently, connected my device to my system in bootloader mode... and well since then my system has a prob detecting my device... and I cannot even sync now... when i try to run HimaUpgrade, get the same 101 error code... :-(
any ideas how to get this thing working again?
PS: its seriously frustrating for me
use the "HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe " instead the "HimaUpgradeUt.exe"
download it HERE!
install the latest Active Sync...version 4.5
Syncing in Vista is no problem but as i said from other thread...i tried but not working...you cannot flash the device except in winxp...

The prob is that now a normal sync does not work either... so I cannot synchronize my device with my system at all :-(, any ideas at all... on how to get it to work?

what OS you are using while flashing and synching? xp? vista?

Hello @ all. I'm new here and my English is not that good that it should be, so please excuse my mistakes.
I have got a problem I want to install a new ROM on my PDA Phone (XDA Wiza200 G4). I started with this HardSPL. The winwo popped up i pressed "Check DOC", than i got an white screen on my Phone. After this the Tutorial is starting, when I agree to all the questions, the prog should install this SoftSPL, right? But then i am always getting an ERROR, Vista says that this prog is not working normal, and vista is searching for an solution. At the end Vista is closing the Prog and all the Installation is ****.
I am hoping you can understand my Problem and give me an solutuon. Thanks
WinXP is highly recommended,Vista still has problems.You better try it on WinXP.HardSPL will only get installed on WinXP.
Now I've got a problem. Is there any other solution?
Use microsoft "Virtual PC" and install XP ??

Sorry posted this in the wrong topic
right click on the ruuupdate.exe file and click properties then click on the compatability tab and click run this program in compatability mode for xp sp2 and make sure the run as administrator tab is ticked too.
Works great for me and i have vista ultimate sp1 and i have had no problem installing roms. I would also enter bootloader mode manually before flashing, i do because certain roms come back with a 260 connection error
When I try to run Hard-SPL I get the message "AthenaWrapper has encounter a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". What should I do? Can someone help me?
I've had and 8125 and a Tilt. I just got my FUZE today and cant wait to try some of these ROM but can't get HARD-SPL to work and I don't know why.
If running in vista try to run the wrapper with administrator rights (right click on .exe file -> run as administrator).
Im actually fortunate enuf to still be on XP. I did the run as and at least now it begins but it wont start as I am now getting a ERROR [202]: Connection problem.

I have the same problem being discussed in the HardSPL thread. I had an 8525 that I immediately HardSPL, flashed many ROMs, and am running XP. I get the same Error: 202. There have been some suggestions made in that thread but none have worked for me. Tethering, ActiveSync and access to the FUZE as a hard drive works flawlessy before and after I try to HardSPL. I don't have a clue what the problem is. Since these connections all work flawlessy with the exception of the HardSPL application, it is hard for me to believe it is a connection issue. Immediately after getting the error I check ActiveSync status on the FUZE and the PC and they are fine. I have even tested them and they work.
Today I tried to install 6.1 working rom on my PDA.
Because I had germany language on it..
So I followed the guides on forum tried to install with windows 7 ultimate.
First I flashed correctly then after that I had black/white screen and red light.
After that it run update utility but failed updateing said your PDA is not connected to a PC error 260...in device managaer it showed "Unknown device" so I messed around couple of hours but still couldnt get it fixed tried to install USBAS drivers but windows 7 said its not 32-bit windows drivers. So i dont know what do next.
I switced my phone off again and windows was starting normally n its still german so practically no harm was done.

have you intalled activ sync in your PC (Win XP) ?
or Windows Mobile Device Center (Win Vista/Win7) ?
Yea as post above, rapii errors are to do with as or wmdc.
Its worth noting that the wmdc that vista/7 ships with won't auto update, and isn't the latest version. Find the Microsoft wmdc page and update it.
Same with active sync.
