So which ROM are most people using? - Mogul, XV6800 ROM Development

We're already in April and there are many new ROMs cooking for the Titan.
So, I'm curious: which ROM are most people using? Perhaps I should ask, which OS are people running?
I've been quite happy with DCD 4.1.2 because it has the newer PIE and the TouchFlo-style interface. It is still Windows Mobile 6.1 (build 21014), but it seems solid to me.
Others?

Lately I've been using Titan Reloaded 1.3.4 with M2D not cooked into it but I'm looking for an alternative. I switched to this from DCD 3.3.4 and 4.1.2 because I was having issues with the video codecs that are supported in DCD's latest (none in 3.3.4 and I think I only got 1 to work in 4.1.2 whereas 1.3.4 plays everything).

Used all titan reloads with m2d and really liked them. I ran the last Beta 1.4b2 of reload for a while and it was more stable than 1.3.4 I thought. No kitchen for the beta.

Skips rom is really a great rom also I have used it.

Now I am running 6.5 roms. The link is in my signature and I really like them as well.

dcd 4.1.2 with M2D IOLITE for me.

Windows Mobile *OFFICE* 6.1 upgrade just released

Microsoft just released an upgrade for Windows Mobile Office. It moves you up to version WMO 6.1 so you can access Office 2007 file formats, and includes a zip utility. There are a few other tweaks, you can read about them on this page, and get the free download.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...1f-51e2-42f0-ba32-69bb7e9a3814&DisplayLang=en
Have you checked the version on your Athena? If you are running PK 3.0 or above, you are already running WMO 6.1 or hadn't you noticed that.
Unless they incoporated it into PK in the last 2 days, you dont have WMO 6.1. MS just released it 2 days ago.
Im running the original ROM on my 7501 and it only had WMO 6.0 before I did the upgrade.
Ever hear of leaks? Or the fact that awhile back 6.1 was released for download by mistake?
I have PK 3. When I tried to upgrade the install program prompted that my version was at least as current. So I stopped the upgrade.
Glad to hear several of you already have 6.1. To the 90% of you reading this that dont, enjoy.

Your 90% seems very high, WMO 6.1 has been out for a while unofficially and has been incorporated into many roms..kaiser, hermes, athena, trinity and several others..
But if for some reason, you don't have it, you should download and install. If mobile office came on your pda its a free download.
Just FYI, for those that are saying "just released" my Tilt (ATT) has 6.1 on it from the factory. I bought it on relase date (whatever that was) so it's been available for at LEAST that long.

WM 6.1 on an older radio?

As much as I like dcd's 2.2, I am having big problems with the radio. Anyone cook any ROMS with WM6.1 on an older radio version? Love the 6.1 (threaded SMS and performance), hate the radio (dropped SMS, intermittent Internet probs, etc.)
Thanks!

i plan to eventually update the 2.17-based dcd 1.x.x series with WM6.1, but not until kinks are worked out in the experimental dcd 2.x.x series. there appear to still be a few "bugs"... it was my understanding that those who want to be on the bleeding edge were running the new roms (gps, new radio, new wm) and those looking for stability were using the old, so thats why...

Upgraded from official Sprint Rom 3.* to WM6.1 slowed down my Mogul!

I don't get it! I had the 2.17 rom from sprint installed- Mogul was running quickly and stable. upgraded to new official sprint rom 3 and was running a bit sluggish. Just upgraded to wm6.1 and my phone laaaaaags!
what gives? The reason why i upgraded to wm6.1 was for increased speed and stability. I have yet to read a negative review of wm6.1. Is my Mogul busted?
FWIW: clean install dcd 3.0.1via olipro 2.4 Official sprint radio3.* pre iinstalled.
I have hard reset multiple times with no difference in speed.
Everything from txt input, opening apps, switching landscape, even internet is significantly slower than sprint rom 2.17.
I can live without rev a (never saw any download difference in san diego) but i HATE lugging around my BT gps receiver. I don't want to go back to 2.17.
Please help!
Thanks guys.

Did you build your own ROM from a kitchen? or downloaded it from the links?
If you build your own there are ways to customize it to make it run faster, even have more memory.
There are some tricks to give you more glypcache on your phone to make it run faster, but you sacrifice RAM.
Thats weird. I have DCD's 3.0.1 ROM and my mogul has never been this fast before, even without Rev.A here in South Carolina! Try flashing again?
I just upgraded last night from dcd 2.31 to dcd 3.01 plus 3.35 radio.
At first, I did notice some sluggishness, but after using it for a while, the speed has returned to normal (what I was used to before upgrade).
I think that maybe after flashing, the phone needed to do some catching up, especially since I restored all my histories and text messages.
you might also try a new pagepool if you are custom cooking your rom. the last few that I have cooked have been pooled at 6 or 8 and i just cooked my recent one at 12. its much faster. Even the screen orientation and everything
PPCBackUpPro 2.5 slowed my 6.1
PPCBackUp 2.5, or whatever it's called, temporarily slowed my 6800 WAY down after I tried restoring my Messages with it (or was it Calendar). Amazing program, probably time I upgraded to 2.8 and made a donation.
However thought I'd share and see if it helps anyone else. After a soft reset or two (and not launching/auto launching PPCBackup 2.5), my DCD 3.01 was nice and snappy. I had just upgraded from stock ROM 2.09 to DCD's 3.01 prepackaged .exe
DCD 3.0.0 here, faster than ever, on par with the Alltel WM5 ROM that was unstable but FAST on my mogul.
Coincidentally, my battery life has improved about 30% as well, and I haven't dropped a call in a while (we have low reception in our office).
Nothing but good news here...

New Sprint rom with 6.1

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=26119
Apparently sprint TV works on it, and a new radio 3.39.10...
Now patiently waiting for DCD to extract a radio and make a new rocking rom I wouldn't mind some sprint TV action
I jsut flashed my phone,so far,it worked really well,no problem found yet,it seemd like HTC & Sprint got their act together well this time.
This is a test ROM for WM 6.1 from Sprint and is not an official release. Just a heads up for all the over zealous flashers out there. I'm also assuming the radio is a test as well. The official release date from Sprint is scheduled for June 1, though knowing Sprint, don't bet the farm on that. Flash at your own risk.
Awesome, at least this is a start. Can't wait to test it out. Well, can't wait for dcd's version of this build, so I can test it out. I'm interested in knowing what's different.
Also, for all you people who think newer is better....this rom uses an older wm 6.1 build than dcd 3.0.4...

This rom is slower too. I had it for about 8 hours then flashed 3.0.4 back. 3.0.4 is just faster all around.
it would have been nice if they had added a working mms along with the sprint tv
Coming over to Sprint soon so I'm glad I won't be missing WinMo 6.1 like I'm used to.

Switches to Vibrate on its own
Hi all,
I flashed this ROM, and as well added BatterySTatus, Opera Mini 4.1, Ringo, Google Maps, HTC Home (Helmi Home) and I'm not sure what the glitch is, but the phone spuratically switches to vibrate on its own. Any ideas?

3.42.02 on dcd 3.0.4

hey guys
i've seen a couple people using radio 3.42.02 on 3.0.4 but havent heard anyones results. is it 100% compatible with 3.0.4? how's the gps? signal? i searched around and didnt find any info about .0.4 only .1.6. if there's a thread somewhere hook it up =)
I actually upgraded to the 'official' rom today, but I wouldn't hesitate to update the radio on dcd 3.0.4. A couple of days ago I updated the radio on DCD 3.1.6 without any problems.
i'm pretty up in the air and hesitant about updating anything. 3.2.0 is pretty damn tempting but i lalalove my 3.0.4.
I'm with you. 3.04 was the build I used the longest. Itried the others, but always flashed back to 3.04. I'm on 3.56 now... Other than Sprint TV half-ass working, I see no benefit over 3.04.
word i appreciate the input. i get alot of 'just upgrade they wouldnt make it if it wasnt worth it" stuff like that. 3.0.4 is deisel
3.0.4 is three driver updates ago and 3 WM builds ago. It might have not made THAT much of a difference between 3.0.4 and 3.1.2, but we're now two releases past 3.1.2.
You can do what you want, but my opinion is that you should upgrade.
using the newer dcd ROM, I'm having no problems.
