qvga to vga????????? - P3400 ROM Development

dont laugh if u feel that this is stupid question but is it possible that after upgrading rom to 6.1 or 6.5 our gene turn from qvga to vga?????????

Well, in a simple word: impossible.
PS. not really. You can use nyditot virtual display to make this hapen, but I didn't see any rom with this incorporated.

Technically, if I am not wrong, it should not be possible, since Gene comes with a resolution of 240x320 (which is a hardware limitation, the screen can display 240 pixels by 320 pixels). Whereas VGA is 640 x 480 (or 480 x 640) pixels, so I do not think its possible to somehow make it possible to display at that resolution. But then, I could be wrong .
BTW, If we use a virtualisation software (as mentioned by ramersonw), I believe it will slow down the device .

Thanks for reply

I used it for a couple of days and its a crap.
Font goes too small to view, and it lags all the time. Not of much use.

First i want to congratulate the creators of this fórum for the magnificent work developed here, of great utility to this vast community.
Later it wanted to use to advantage to ask if it is possible to increase display resolution colors from 65k to 262k colors with software. I have a HP 6815rs and a Atom Life PDA's.
I thank the answers.

the answer is no. unless you change the LCD and create a new set of display driver.

I thought that they had differences. I never thought that the capacity of 262K was not a profit. Tanx for de answer.

also if it will be possible ... it will not help you because WM can show only 65k

Yes, it makes sense.

DPI into RES.

hello again this time i just wanted to know what dpi is equal too in resolution terms..
i want to know what 80dpi means in resolution so could someone answer me like
80dpi=1280x720 or 80dpi=XXXXxXXX can someone say what exactly is it??
The dpi gives you information about the relation between resolution and size of the screen.
So a huge screen (50") with just a 800*600 resolution has a really low DPI, and so the picture has quite a low quality as you could se every pixel. Modern phones have quite a huge resolution on a really small size. So some even have such a high DPI that you can't even see a single pixel just with your eyes which means a much better quality.
But you cant say ABC-DPI mean X-Y-resolution, its just a relation between size and relation.
oh ok well i manually changed my aces dpi to 80 and it says its resolution now is 960x640 so is that good or bad?? plus i got an 100% replica of the ics 4.0(its a theme) so im really lovin my ace now

Resolution is fine. Earlier builds could run on Titan, but I am not sure if there are newer features that will not work due to missing hardware.
My guess is that people will eventually port WP8 Roms, but that there may be some features missing and it may take some time depending on who gets interested in the project.
It is not perfectly functioning WP 7.5 ROM, so WP8 is a distant future...

Not in the dev section!
I'm not holding my breath for WP8 on my Titan II. WP7.8 will have to do but I plan on buying the first 4.7" HTC WP8 that has NFC and an equal 16MP camera with a 1080 display resolution.

[Q] Gsmar Roma R2 support?

I am about to change phones this week and I have this Gsmart in sights. I would like to know if it would be able to run Themer. According to specs it sports following:
MTK6572 chipset
Mali400 GPU
1GB RAM
4" IPS 800x480 screen at 220-something dpi
I have not held the phone in hand yet but from images online it looks like it has soft keys.
I wanted to try Themer from the start but alas my current phone is way out of the specs for it to run (poor old Samsung Galaxy mini at 3.2' 240x320 screen) so I would rather get a phone that is able to run it...

For now the Galaxy S2 is supported, and that has roughly the same specifications, however that doesn't have soft keys. So chances are Themer is not going to work. We are working on supporting more devices soon though. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Well, according to this image ( http://www.mojandroid.sk/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Recenzia_GSmart_Roma_R2_12.jpg) and unboxing videos on youtube, the keys are visible even if the phone is turned off. similar to Samsung's HW home button. So it seem that Gsmart has no HW button but has instead touch keys. But are those considered soft keys? As I understand it, soft keys are actually part of the devices screen? Am I right?
If so that it would mean the the phone has 'native" resolution of 480 x 800 without those additional 54 pixels of height reserved for keys and I should be able to run themer... Please say my understanding is correct... :fingers-crossed:
_____________
Edit:
Never mind, I just found the explanation for soft keys on the support site. These are definitely not what is considered soft keys... So I am looking forward to trying themer on my new phone next week... :good:
Thread can be considered solved and it can be closed...
I have just returned with the new phone and guess what was the first app I needed to try... Yes, Themer and it is running so far without a problem so I will keep on playing around and see if I find any issues.
So at least some good news for guys with phones with similar specs..:good:

Screen Crispness....?

Anyone notice that the resolution shows 2k on this device but the icons and pictures and other things dont look as crisp as they should? They look sort of blown out.

I noticed it on my Axon 7 phone which has a QHD display too.
icons are probably incorrect resolution, 2k screen isn't that popular. Also you might have smart resolution on, (i never notice it and therefore doubt it does anything at all)

technically, the IPS screen would be better, as it has RGB layout instead of pentile.
But the resolution on both is high enough you probably can't tell the difference anyway.
I think its strange youtube will never give an option of more than 1080p

Currently the "smallest width" is set to 627 dpi. Would you recommend boosting that up to 800 dpi then?

I came from TAB S and 800 dpi ("smallest width") gave me same experience. Only issue is that, every reboot reset this dev value to 756. (+ in settings/display view mode: small; font size: normal)

Quick question, how do you get it to stick after reboot? Mine keeps going back to 627 dpi.

I boost mine to 915 (I think!), though I have to bump up the font size if I do that. Having come from a Tab S, that seems closer to a similar use of screen real estate (e.g. in YouTube, it shows 5 videos per row on the home page). Unfortunately, it means the other settings can no longer be accessed, so I need to reboot if I want to change anything
I'm surprised that more people aren't complaining about this. I think Huawei have simply taken the interface from the 8.4 version without any changes, so things are just bigger all round but you get no advantage to choosing the 10.8 version

Someone had posted just last week that the M5 feels like a large phone and not a tablet, likely due to it not identifying itself as a tablet. This causes annoyance with some apps as they draw as if they are on a phone, which when stretched to a tablet screen not not good. Instead of making use of the extra screen space and resolution, things just becomes hard to use.

I have mine set to 1250 dpi and I love it. So much real-estate, looks clean, higher quality and since its on the Resurrection Remix Rom, the dpi stays at that custom number even after reboot. Some things are hard to tap at times but I use GMD gestures and control the tablet with gestures and tasker

The Resurrection Remix Rom makes things easy to set a better resolution that works well for the bigger screen real-estate ☺
