You know, the one thing that would tip me over the contribution threshold would be to get MS Voice Command 1.6 to install on my Ameo/WM6. Every time, I get to the point where I am asked where to install it (device, sdcard, or microdrive, all with 60mb+ free), choose "device", then see the first block of the installer's progress bar. After a short delay, it tells me "Unable to install Voice Command due to insufficient space or insufficient permissions. Free additional device storage space and try again." The try-agains are pretty old now, each storage device blowing out the same way.
Annoyingly, it worked on AP Touch 2.0. More annoyingly, it does this with both my purchased copy, and those backup copies you may find at the less reputable windows mobile websites.
Any ideas of a workaround? I'm lost without VC on this device. Any rom cookers have any idea if a certificate or something is required, or omitted from the rom? Has anyone else managed to get it to successfully work?
TIA(DIA!)
you can always try cyberon

Are you installing from the PC or PDA using cab file? I have no problem with MSVC 1.6 and my x7500. I do install from the cab file on my pda, not from my pc..
If not using cab file, try putting the cab file on your pda and installing from there.
My MSVC and plantronics 510 work without any issues at all. Works great!
i had a similar issue with a few of my programs.but i solved it by doing a soft reset and that did the trick.im currently running a htc x7501 with pk 3,msvv 1.6 and motorola s9 w/no issues.hth
Hi guys,
as always, thanks for all the assistance you guys throw out... always a nice place to be.
Cyberon is ... well, you get what you pay for. It's joyless. I have no friends, so I need MSVC to have some dialogue in my life. "Play Media" I cry! "What would you like to play, by artis-" "BY ARTIST!" "Play Unknown, Unknown, Unknown, Podcast, Unknown, Unknown or Unknown?" "UNKNOWN!" and off it goes, my breezeblock of a phone still in my bag, people around me solidly convinced of my extensive social network.
Anyway. Installation. I looked into the Cyberon page you mentioned, Irus (thanks!), and there's some registry cleaning stuff around there. I'm going to try that, on the off-chance it's blocking the voice command install.
(if anyone's watching, had great success with the sony ericsson HBH-DS970 and HBH-DS980 headsets... handle stereo, voice command over bluetooth, and shows incoming ring numbers. Apparently both 'multipair' with different devices, but not played with it too much yet... only downside is they charge with SE's proprietary new chargers)
Eagle, yes, it's off the cab file. I am trying my original exe installer, the original cab, and a couple of warm versions I've seen around the place. None of 'em like it. Soft reset, reboot, power off... everything short of a hard reset.
Maybe I'll backup, hard-reset, and try installing to a clean v3 install. Gotta say, after playing with v2 of this rom, I was suffering. Hard reset and restore every few days. Other than this VC install issue (which may not even be a rom issue, it may be some other cruft I installed later), this rom is rock-solid, responsive, and reliable. It's the first time I've been on a WM device and felt like I could both count on it, and get some work done too. Top marks to the whole team (shuffles off to donate... )
HARD RESET and it works!
Baffling. So... do I uninstall things till I find the problem? Or reinstall from a hard reset (considering I've *only* just resolved 5 days of inactive sync grief...)
oh... donations to Athena Project on their way. Spend wisely!
hi davernee,
I have ms vc 1.6 running with pk 3.0. installed first pk, than adobe reader 2.0 followed by pk add-ons and finally ms vc.
no probs with installation. just needed to install th pk 1.0 fix for ms vc tgo get it running through headset. now working nearly perfect.

I had some problems with UK english version of voice command initially then it suddenly started working after a fresh ROM build.
It may be that installing jetware (name from memory) bluetooth tools helped this work, but it continued to work after removing them so I'm not sure if this was a co-incidence.
I didn't have to make any registry changes.
I'm using a jawbone headset and a plantronics 590. Both work fine with VC except that sometimes it is difficlt to get the 590 to trigger VC. I think it needs a double click rather than a single click.
Thanks for the feedback, everybody... maybe something misfired while I was setting it up the first time. Hard reset cleaned it all up, everything reinstalled, WMDC working (touch wood), backed up. Hope that helps anyone in a similar situation - hint: keep all your installation cabs and keys in a folder on your microdrive.

A reboot was all it took for me - these dual profile sony headsets seem a lot better with sharing music streaming and using voice command out of the box. I used to use a motorola stereo headset, but once the music started, voice command was gone... was on a WM5 though.
Never needed fixes or 3rd party tools. HBH-DS980 ( http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp...1&template=pp4_1_1&zone=pp&lm=pp4_1&pid=10895 ) if you're interested...
did anybody using Microsoft Voice command 1.6 on gene ?
actuality i m thinking to remove cyberon Voice Dial and use Microsoft Voice command instead of it, on my upcoming rom
i didn't use Microsoft Voice command and cyberon Voice Dial, so need feedback from you ppl so i use integrate on my next rom
and don't forget to vote in poll
Microsoft Voice Command is definitely better than Cyberon. But i never found any OEM for Microsoft Voice Command, and i don't know if its free. Cyberon comes with Original P3400i ROM so i think its not illegal to use that. But if MS Voice Commands is not free, it will be illegal to use it in ROM. As far as my usage is concerned, i don't use it much but as you know my roms have cyberon so i use that, whenever i use. But i would definitely like to see MS Voice Commands if its possible.

FYI
recent new wm 6.1 build has Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 just extract any topaz or Rhodium ROM you will get it VoiceCommand & VoiceCommand_Lang_0409 folder but it consume 1-2mb ram
Ms voice command i tried but with some odd results
u cannot hear the name properly.
Only if u r with ur headphone then only u can hear it clearly
otherwise it is of no use.
I remmember using Voice Software when i purchased my P3400 but now its been ages since have used that.
Any News on "Tell me"?
hi dear frindes
a software for android name"call my name" exist that when you use earphone say the name of caller(if exist in your contact ,if not read the nomber of caller) in headphone
i need a software like that for wm6.5 !
please help me to find it if exist
"Voice Command" does this for me,
I simply click on the Icon and say "Call Sarah Mobile"
and the app responds with "Call Sarah Mobile?"
and I say "Yes" and it dials.
There is probably a link to it in your start menu,
but if not use file explorer to find it in the Windows folder
and create a shortcut in Windows/Start Menu/Programs
and you should be able to use it from there.
You can use it for other things like "Open Media Player" too
Enjoy your phone.
dear rickth
ya i know and use voice command 1.6 but voice command use your voice for doing your command mean when you say something it search and find that (if exist) command but the thing that i need is:
when your listen to music with headphone and someone dail do not need to check the number by bringing out the phone from bag ,turning on the phone and then answer
the software read the number or name of caller in your head phone
I know what he means.
He means that when someone rings him he wants the phone to announce who is calling over the headphones. That way he knows who is calling him without getting the phone out of his pocket.
For future reference btw rickthecabbie. Not all HD2's come pre-installed with Microsoft Voice Command. Only the American handsets do. The european etc handsets do not. There are CAB's knocking around for it though.
I'm considering loading the CM 10.1 ROM onto an HTC Aria. I was reading in the Aria forum that the voice recognition doesn't work with this ROM. I was wondering what exactly that means. Does just Google's voice recognition not work, or will I be locked out of all voice recognition. The Aria is a really small phone so I want to use the keyboard as little as possible. If I download an app like Utter will that still work? Also, what are some recommendations for keyboards that have voice-to-text buttons on them that don't use the Google voice, or whatever is the default in CM 10.1? Also, is there like a global voice-to-text engine that I could use instead of the default, and just kinda swap it in?
Hello,
I am coming from Windows Phone and everything went smoothly during the transition. However, I miss some useful functionalities I had with WP that I really miss on Android, like offline voice recognition and SMS reading.
I was using voice recognition in my car (where data connection is bad and unstable from which it is necessary to have this functionnality offline), I was saying "call [NAME]" and it triggered the phone call with confirmation of the command.
I would like to do the same thing with my Nexus 5 but I didn't find a way to do it. I downloaded the language pack for my language (French) in the parameters.
Is it possible?
Anorther point is the reading of the SMS (texts). When a headset (wire or bluetooth) was connected to my WP, my phone was able to read aloud the content.
Same question: is it possible with Android?
Thanks
No idea?
Up!
