used michys rom 6.1, works well. by upgrading to 6.5, upgrade stops at 92%. over and out..
I checked out to fixe it with the methods from xxacsxx, but still get : can´t synchronize with host, after use ´lnbs ...etc´ from mtty.
mtty also shows no info 2 page, interpret timeout.
I tried athena-unlocker again, it says not useabale for my device.
I also tried to upgrade with different rom, vanilla, michy, original t-mobile, chinese and uk.
I only com to the bootloader. Most rom-Updates say just :not for you phone, vannila and t-mobile say: wrong device id.
but this means i have to fix it via mac/mtty, or not ? and this does not work..
any ideas ? the bootloader screen is awfull beatyfull, but wm6 was it also...

have you tried to flash any rom again? sometimes it helps you flash an original rom.

i think you are this one i meant with the page xxaxsxx ? i checked all your roms, no positiv effect. i also tried nearly any rom, i got in my hands..
No Rom works, but i still came to the bootloader and can connect via mtty...
any further ideas ?

what method are you trying exactly? try my wifi mac/modelid fixer (stickied). follow instructions.

I tried meanwhile different methods, all came to the same result:
1. xp,use mac1.exe, create bin for 1.2,rename to mac.bin and put in on c:\->deactiving wcescomm,mtty0512 (on c:\)->use usb-connection,connect->task32-> Level 0->lnbs mac.bin 75108000.
2. xp,use mac1.exe, create bin for 1.2,rename to mac.bin and put in on c:\->deactiving wcescomm,mtty11a (on c:\)->use usb-connection,connect->task32-> Level 0->lnbs mac.bin 75108000.
3. xp,use mac1.exe, create bin for 1.2,rename to mac.bin and put in on c:\->deactiving wcescomm,mtty142 (on c:\)->use usb-connection,connect->task32-> Level 0->lnbs mac.bin 75108000.
that´s it, no dialog box opens, no ok button appears, only after a few seconds: can´t synchonize with host.
For your information: your procedure works one year ago fine, as my device crashed during a rom-update. Do as you said, everything works well. But now after the crash during update to 6.5 this disaster.
Hope it´s not the end and the flash is broken...

if your bootloader shows the right informations, then use the sd-card-method (no sdhc).
it shows you, whats wrong (look at your (grey)screen). i have flashed my ameo for 500 times, a lot of crashes will be fixed with this method.
(mein englisch ist miserabel, weiss ich. beim flashen über die sd-karte zeigt das gerät alles an, was ok und was nicht ok ist. wenns geht ist gut, wenn nicht, dann wissen wir aber warum)

you have to rename the *.nbh to ATHEIMG.nbh
make sure that your sd-card is not an sdhc-card (i think thats all cards over 4 GB)

..i tried 5 different sd cards, Sandisk,Kingston,Transcend from 512mb to 2 gb, also again all my available roms, always the same.. The fact that all card where functional under windos while the unit was ok it not important in this state of ´bios-booting´ or not ?
any further ideas ?

I have the same issue. I cannot upgrade with sd (formatted 1gb sd card with 2048 cluster size in FAT32).
I have to upgrade via SD card because i upgrade with wrong version (i have a 7501 and i did a upgrade with 7510 )

Could not update itsutils.dll to the current version, maybe it is inuse?

If you read the forums, you would know the answer. Copy the cert_spcs.cab and enablerapi.cab to your Charmer. Once copied, go to file explorer. Find those two files and install them to device memory.
Run the upgrade again.

Hello everybody...
I just bought an PM200 (German T-Mobile Edition), WM5 says its a PM200.
After that I installed the aku 3.3 and everything worked fine...
Then I tried to install the "Charmer_Touch_GER_Ridingshark_Beta_3.2".
But while Writing the new TouchFLOW OS ROM i got the error... "Could not update itsutils.dll to the current version, maybe it is in use?
try restarting your device, or restart activesync
But i realized it to late and already made a Hard Reset...
Then the Touch-Flow UI tried to install and the i got the WM error:
"The file : \windows\XDADev_BatFix.exe does not exist".
But i cant go on with the install but it doesnt matter which button i push...no one responds...
Then i downloaded the XDADEV_Batfix.cab but that dowsnt work...sure because it isnt the exe file...
Can anybody help me with tha prob?
I also treid to install the WM6 update again but i always get the itsutils.dll error...

Here is how to do it:
Flash back to WM5 using bootloader. Press camera button during reset.
If you see the screen with the 3 colours plug in the USB cable and wait till the Device is installed. Now run the T-Mobile uptade (Best is to use Akku3.3).
After it is finished connect to active sync and go to the Folder were the WM 6 upgrade is in. Now install the two cabs out of the folder where the WM6 ROM is in, on your device and make a soft reset. After that run the upgrade File. It will go same as before, but there will be no error and it will update completly.
Have a nice time with WM6

Thanks again to ChrBeck, I also used the search in this Forum to get it solved but i could find anything useful.
The only thing I had to do was to install the to cab´s (Cert_SPCS.cab and EnableRapi.cab witch are already included in the Charmer_Touch_GER_Ridingshark_Beta_3.2.rar.
The first Step was to update the WM5 Version to the aku 3.3. Then I transmitted the 2 Files with activeSync and installed them on the Charmer just with thip on each File. And the last Step was to flash the new WM6...
DONE....
Its so easy if you know what to do and with help from some users...

my work has 100 mda vario's
but they all had windows mobile 5.1 on it
so i say to my boss i can flash it to windows mobile 6 with htc touchflo
he liked it so he let me do it
but it goes wrong
the mda vario does nothing anymore
just a bootloader cames up with : red green,blue,white
saying :

my idea is to get a working rom on a mini sd card and flash it from the sd card
but how to let the sd card starts load and let it flash,
not one button works in the bootloader
i have tried a lot of tricks i also have one time get restore to factory defaults.
but wont work, it says format completed, so no error's

also active sync wont work anymore , the pc wont see the phone all .exe updates ultilty gives me errors that they dont get response from the phone
that comes because it only stays in the bootloader and the bootloaders has left under a usb sign, there stood usb

first of all, try a hard reset, then plug once again the phone to PC
dont worry, activesync wont recognize phone at all (is just usb connection)
tell me if hard reset worked, and ill keep in touch
i kpnw there is a tool that would help you to fix the phone.... first try the hard reset!

You know what you did,whats wrong with the phone,you flashed a wm6 rom to a CID locked device.A CID locked phone cannot be upgraded to wm6,you must have a CID unlocked device for upgrading to wm6.
Now,as its a G4 device,it cannot be CID unlocked,but,however,it can be upgraded to wm6 through either SoftSPL or HardSPL method.
Now first recover back to its default status by downloading official stock rom and flash it,after it starts to work normal,then follow the SoftSPL or HardSPL method,only then it'll upgrade.

Got my 3rd Niki. As usual, I use sspl 1.16 (after 1st boot of original ROM) and hardspl 1.22 to unlock. But since unlocking the device always stucks in alignment/calibration screen, sometimes in screen before where you have to press once to continue.
I tried different ROMs (Original HTC and T-Mobile, some cooked ones), always the same.
Anyone an idea?
Update: I did hardspl with soft reset again, now alignment screens reacts, but always restarts (loop).
Update2: Toch screen doesn't work when keyboard is slided in, also accu status is 1%! It works as long it's slided out, also battery is shown right then. Very confusing!!

I received my Streak today and I think the former user installed official 2.2 manually. The problem is: everytime I start the streak with my SIMcard inserted, it boots up, I enter my pin code an then the buttons begin to flash, it doesnt react anymore and simply reboots. When I dont insert my SIMcard it works flawless. I already used QDLtool and I also flashed Steve's 1.60, which didnt solve my problem. Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
I also did several factory resets and flashed different recoverys...

So I replaced my SIM card and the Problem seems to be gone. May this be provider dependent or is my SIM card damaged? I'll update this thread when a new one arrives...

got a brand new dell streak UK version ( not branded ) with android 1.6. insert my simcard ( Fyve - Vodafone ) and it works with no problems. data connections, in and outgoing calls works great. now got the official froyo 2.2 update from dellsite and i have exactly the same problem like you. i used other simcards from my friends ( telekom, base, o2, old vodafone card, blue mobile, etc.) and all cards works with no problems btw, my fyve card is the newest version, got it in january. tried my fyve card in other phones like desire hd, lg optimus one, htc trophy, iphone etc. works great is it a baseband problem? have anyone a old basebandversion from official 1.6 version? need help plz

The new SIM I requested from my provider solved the problem. I have no Idea why my Streak crashed with the old one, as said before I could use it in several other phones without any problem.

Wenn du bei Fyve anrufst und anmeldest, dass deine SIM kaputt ist, bekommst du ja vermutlich wie bei Base kostenlos eine Ersatzkarte. Würd ich auf jeden Fall probieren! Seit ich die neue SIM habe funktioniert alles tadellos.
to those who are still having this problem: not sure if this will be effective, but you might want to try flashing one of DJ Steve's roms on your phone nd seeing if it is not just a problem with the OS itself.
