My lady bought me a TomTom 730 for my birthday. She found out that the Plus services (which use Bluetooth DUN to a phone or PDA for net access) work with a 3125. Except she didn't do quite enough research to find out that I'm not using the original ROM that had BT DUN in it.
Is anyone using a similar combination? If so, what ROM are you using and what add-on CABs? Or did you maybe have to cook your own; then what kitchen and recipe?
I'm willing to sacrifice Internet Sharing for BT DUN if necessary.
I'm really hoping to NOT need the Pro version.
Answering my own question for those looking for an answer:
Erifich's 6.1 STD_V9c and the WM6BTDUN.cab floating around work like a champion, at least on AT&T.

Should I stick with 1.66.00WWE or move to the 1.7X ROM??????
Also what type of Bluetooth head sets are you all using, any specific recommendations or success??
Thanks!
I'm still using the 1.66.00WWE that came with my device.
I'm using the O2 Bluetooth headset and have had no problems with it at all - voice quality is fantastic, battery seems to last for ages and I've never lost bonding...
I've been working in Malaysia for the past 4 years and about to return to Sydney. I have the 1.66.00WWE that came with my device and will probably keep it.
I'm using a Logitech BT headset and thought it is bigger than the SE-HBH 60 I had previously it is a lot more comfortable to wear, sounds clearer (to me and the person on other end of call) and has a longer battery life.
Very happy with it.
Ed
Thanks guys, appreciated.
Im in Melb, using 1.72.00
I havent had any problems with it, but I dont use BT headset, I do use a BT GPS quite a lot and have had no problems.
But I havent noticed that upgradeing from 1.66 really added anything worth while either. As I havent had any problems Im not going to downgrad either, but I would not recomend upgrading unless you are having some particular problem until the SE version finally comes out.
Just remember you are using Optus network, and I think after you upgrade you do require some patch in order for you GPRS to work.
Gee, guys, you're all well ahead of me... I'm still runnning mine with the 1.60.00WWE (ex. ROM 1.60.44)... wonder when I'll see an upgrade...
Besider the older version - everything's fine
I ended up trying both a Belkin and also Motorola head-set. Both had very poor quality for the inbound direction of the call, filled with crackle and echo.
My outbound direction is fine........
Anyone got a suggestion?
Hello I have just purchased an 02 xda not the 2 or anything just the xda. The reason behind buying it was to have a cheap sat nav kit as I'm not very rich unfortunately.
However, I dont have the first clue as to how to set it up, the guy gave me tom tom 3 on an mmc card. Said I need a gps receiver or something like that. I am willing to buy one but dont know which one and why and whats compatible.
Also someone else said I can run it off gprs but after reading up that doesnt seem to be very accurate so want to go gps. Do I need a gps antenna? Not sure what that is but told I need it if I dont have one.
Could someone please run me through the procedure of how to set it up as a sat nav. I'm more than happy just to use it as tom tom 3, but want to know what additional kit do I need.
Thanks.
Imran
Hi
Dig more on internet about that. You'll find step-by-steps.
First thing you need is a GPS receiver (cable or bluetooth one).
Just ask the seller if it works with XDA I. (Cable connector).
As far as I know XDA I has bluetooth ? You can but bluetooth GPS then (more expensive, but wireless and works with any BT palmtop for sure).
The rest of configuration is easy and is describes in TomTom help or/and GPS manual.
Good luck.
Hello, thanks for the reply. Did do some advice and done some digging about, so now where I stand is, I have ordered a gps receiver with the correct cable for my XDa. It surprisingly doesnt have bluetooth so couldnt get the bluetooth receiver.
Have got tom tom 5 navigation software, now should be ready to go.
Imran
Hope you have ordered a splitter cable, as the receiver needs power supply. TomTom Navigator 5 will work fine on a XDA I. Use only a headset when you'r on a motorbike, it is sufficient for navigation.
Hi, am using wm2003se and seem to be stable. However, I would want to install wm2005 just out of curiousity. I wish to solicit views on whether I should install and why, if not then why not. PLEASE I humbly plead with members to MAKE THIS TOPIC INTERESTING.
:?: HI I am reasonably competant on computers but unfortunately the ideal of keeping up with the most modern updates does not seem to be as effective on pda/smartphones. I own a MDA 1000 (unlocked) it ran ok on windows 2003 but i was disappointed that i couldnt get rid of the ORANGE software addons. so I upgraded to wm2005, I didnt realise that all my LEGAL software i had purchased and owned for sometime WOULD NOT be compatible and further more the software that is supposed to be compatible is so unstable I find few reason to upgrade at present until more upgrades for software are available and STABLE. my problem is with TOM TOM navigation, I used TOM TOM 3 since its inception and previously TOM TOM 2 etc, I always kept up to date with updates and had NO PROBLEMS now I cant use TOM TOM 3 and TOM TOM 5 is so unreliable within WM2005. I Havent seen many people on here yet with the same faults let alone compatibility issues. It seems when installed WM2005 either alters backlight settings,Active sync is unstable, camera buttons, recorder buttons, etc etc and when you have those sorted TOM TOM doesnt work without further bug fixes. If I am wrong in my assumption please fellow users please correct me. I thought that computers were supposed to make our lives easier and less stressfull. ( I must have missed the bus on that one ) seems when I get my pc sorted all i need to do is plug my PDA in and bingo Active sync acts up and thus starts another nite of hassle.
when the wm2005 rom came out a lot of people complained about the memory issue being too small after upgrading...among other things... myself included...but when the ram disc / doc tool / etc came out and after some hefty reading i was able to bring wm2005 to my unit. since then i've had no problems and i like it better than 2003se. the phone app for one is fantastic. in your case, if you're curious as to the pros and cons of wm2005 i think you should give it a shot. if you don't like it, you can always go back to 2003se.
perhaps the only con i have is that i now can't use animated today as this app is not compatible with 2005. however i did send a note to the developers and they're currently working on the fix to have this app working with 2005. so it's not really a con in my case...just a matter of waiting. the other apps i use work perfectly.
but other than that i haven't done a hard reset in...well ever since i installed wm2k. give it a shot.
Hi. all . i know this is not an appropriate place to put my problem but i made at least 10 upgrades to my firmware to wm6 so....
i need a hands free bluetooth device for making calls, i tested samsung web200 ,i.tech, and motorola h680 and they make the same thing , i cannot hear anything but my voice is transfered.. is it a compatibility issue(and if it is whats the compatible BT) or i have a problem to my prophet(s200 qtek)
thanks a lot
Is there anyone who could suggest me a bluetooth headset?

i'm using I-tech with no problem on WM6.1
I don't know the solution, but I know the problem.
I red about it before, and I have red the solution, but because I don't use such configuration, I didn't took notice of it.
In general, you need some additional software and/or regsettings to redirect the sound. Best thing to do is to use the "search" option in the top-bar of this forum.
Succes!
I´m using the Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 on my prophet and it is working just great. Excellent soundquality.

Hello buddy, first you have to tell people which particular ROM version and phone and include the radio version that you are using before someone can give you a proper answer. I am using the same SonyEricsson BT and iTech BT and they are all OK. NO BLUETOOTH give you good stereo quality as wired ones. I have many BT headsets and my BT headsets cost are as much as I have paid for my phones.
Now, back to your problem. Flash a ROM, any WM6 ROM. There are quite a few good chefs here, Cloudyfa, Korand, Swiftblade, Gullum ..... just to name a few in random orders.
Before you load any other applications, test out your Wifi, Bluetooth, GPRS and Dialer. If you found you got problem with BT switch to another WM6 ROM. If you tried two to three WM6 ROM and still got the BT problem, you may have a hardware problem. Only the salesman in the local phone store can help you then. If you found BT is not a problem then go back to your WM6.1 ROM. If you have a problem then, nothing you can do except report to the chef and wait for next revision. Meantime, you may try different one even that may not be your favorite choice. Each person has difference preference. This is Prophet forum, you are lucky, there are so many chefs and so many ROM's you can choose from. If you are like me, also have an AtomExec, there is only one cook for it in this whole world for WM6.1 WWE, two cooks for WM6 and none of the existing ROM's are without a serious bug. The phone company was taken over and support is nil. If you are angry, that is to yourself. Who told you to buy a PDA phones. Just like most my friend just get an ordinary (free) cheap phone and use it as a "phone". I hardly heard they have any complaints and obvious they have gain a lot more sleeping hours than I. It is now 3:15 AM my time, and I am still looking for a holy grail (more than one) for my WM6.x phones!
Hi,
Have the same issue with while connecting the phone to my car with BT.
It was perfectly working while on Windows Mobile 2005. The first ROM based on WM 6.0 (Mr Cloudyfa has cooked that rom but I cannot remember the reference) was also working perfectly.
Then I tested Transformer 1.1 and I started having some random issues: Sometimes, phone was not switching the sound on the car (in and out), sometimes it was working quite good.
I recently updated to Hma4 Crystal 5.1, Mr Cloudyfa Shadow 2.0 TE and Korand 3.1 and systematically sound is not switching on the car. On all the tests I made, I had only the chance to have a proper conversation twice
Is it possiable to use the Titan as a GPS device? I am taking a road trip in June and am exploring some options. I like Sprint Navigation but want something a bit more robust.
So i was wondering if it's possiable to teather my Titan to my Netbook via either USB/Bluetooth and use the Titan as a GPS receiver and have something like M$ Streets and Trips running on the Netbook? Is this even possiable?
If not i'll just buy the $$ version of Streets & trips which comes with a USB GPS receiver.
Just thought i'd ask.
Thanks!
I personally use Garmin XT on my titan and it is great. I have North America maps loaded.
Also look here (Post #11)for a list of applications.

See if you can get the streets and trips with out the GPS receiver. If you load a Titan ROM from here then you will unlock the GPS to use it with Streets and Trips software. Or better yet find the TomTom PPC application and buy the map from TomTom. There are lots of apps even a few free ones out there that will run on the Titan phone.
I tried a couple GPS Proxy programs ( GPSGate 2.6, GPSProxy 2.2, GPS2Blue ) that were supposed to route the GPS data to the USB, or Bluetooth.
I only tried these with MapPoint software on my laptop, and I did not have any luck getting a connection. I got frustrated and gave up because I didn't have any real reason to use it other than curiosity.
I still have that "curiosity" though, and I would like to find something that works well.
Google for those names. GPSProxy is available at gpsproxy.sourceforge.net
GPSBlue works for me
GPSBlue, I downloaded it a while back just to see what it would do and after a little playing with it I was able to connect with the laptop and use streets with it and it worked well, actually better than the TripMate USB unit that I use with it normally. Garmin Mobile XT runs on the Titan and works great as well, kinda nice because you have it all in hand.
i vote garmin xt. it is great
