hi all
how can i get into Recovery mode
i try holding down Home and Power
but it not working
Are you trying to do this when the phone is off? The correct procedure is to switch the phone off completely, hold down "Home" and then turn the phone on whilst keeping "Home" held down.

yes ido
but i get hero screen and still untel remove battery
To be honest, I never tried accessing the recovery console prior to flashing Cyanogens modified recovery image, so I've no idea what the "stock" recovery console would look like.
I suggest you might like to try using adb and fastboot to see if you can boot Cyanogens recovery image. If so, flashing your hero with it permanently is a good idea! (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4257045&postcount=38 and http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-hero-hero-modaco-com/291486/25-08-installing-the-patched-recovery-image-on-your-device-permanently/ ).

I have just upgraded my hero from official 2.1 to froydvillain 1.7.0,
I used ROM Manager to finish this upgrade. Everything gets fine.
And now, I decide to update to 1.7.1 and 1.7.2.
The problem I am now facing is...
when I click "Reboot into Recovery"...
my phone will not reboot into Recovery anymore, but only stop at a screen with the word HERO...
Anyone could help? I successfully enter Recovery Mode when my first time of upgrade. I dont know why I cant this time. So I cant do any upgrade or flash another rom. Please help. Many thanks.
I think there are two other ways to enter in recovery mode.
1. Press and keep pressed HOME button while powering the phone on.
2. Enter in HBOOT (press and keep pressed vol down button while powering the phone on) and select Recovery option.
I hope this helps you.

I have tried these 2 methods but cant help.
(1) is what i did before and sucessfully flashed a customised rom for the first time. but after that, i did the same but cant enter recovery mode. its so strange. just stop on a screen in black background with HERO logo.
(2) I tired this too. I saw a white background with green text. But i cant find Recovery option.
Any other suggestions? Many thanks.

I BELIEVE that I solved.
I put an old backup of November. Now I try to format, I start the tablet as if it had just bought.
Hello Good People,
My Z Ultra arrived and it was already rooted from the previous owner.
I booted up into TWRP and couldn’t do a backup because it would not display completely on the screen, so I couldn’t select an features.
I had to reboot the device by holding the power button and the volume up key.
Sadly I can no longer access recovery.
I have holding the volume up button will reboot but it simply takes me to the desktop(normal boot)
I have rooted all my devices but this Z Ultra seems a bit more complicated than others.
Can some please walk me through the steps of exactly what files are needed to get me recovery back.
Also I have the TWRP Manager.app, can I choose a file can do it that way? if so which file name do I pick from the long list?
T.I.A.
I thought I resolved my issue by downloading:
ZU-lockeddualrecovery2.7.154-BETA.installer.zip
Option 1
And it reinstalled TWRP!
Device rebooted into TWRP, I created a background and rebooted the device.
Now I cannot boot/reboot into Recovery again;(
Someone said to press the up/down button a couple of times when you see the pink LED. I dont get a pink LED it goes straight to green.
Can someone please tell me what to do?

The recovery may still be installed.
Turn off the device, when you see the Sony logo and the green light, hold the "volume up" button.
You should boot to recovery.
Another option is to install Xposed and the Wanam module. Then activate the Power Options menu, which allows you to reboot to recovery.
Thanks for the response.
I was able to get into recovery, and do a backup.
After the backup the phone will not reboot. It has been hours now and no button combo will get it to boot up
Need serious help please
Did you back up your TA initially? You might need to reflash to stock and start again using flashtool and the necessary ftf file.
I would recommended this. It was what helped me start off on my XZU.: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2569904

Yes, got it resolved.
It must have been a battery related issue during the flashing.
In the end combined with a hard reset got the device back up and running.
I lost my root and everything so now I need to locate a ROM for this Sony version.
Thanks!
Ndrutil on the Play Store is an easy way to boot from the rom into recovery also..
I have one of these tabs, which will no longer boot up.
I flashed a ROM which clearly will not work on this device..... It switches on and I am now stuck on a screen that looks like the Android man playing in a shower........
I cannot get it to go past this, and I cant get it into bootloader/download mode..... If I hold the Vol button and press and hold power it simply loads to this screen...... I have tried any and every button combination with the same result...
ADB sees the pad when connected to the PC but I am stuck where to go from here. I don't know enough about ADB to try and fix this, if its even possible. The fact I cannot get into recovery means I cannot even put a zip file on the sdcard...... Is there a way to force a flash using only ADB?
Can anyone help me please........
Hi. I am desperate. Two weeks ago I had to remove the power button of my S3 because the phone kept rebooting.
Now, I installed a ROM that ended into bootloops, so I need to enter into recovery mode. With the power button, this would be easy, however since I don't have it, I don't know what to do. I installed Boeffla kernel and Validus ROM when I got the boot loop.
To turn the phone on, what I did was to remove the battery, put it again, and then plug the phone for one second and unplug it. I tried pressing down volume + home while doing that, and it doesn't change anything. The pone will simply try to boot the ROM.
Is there any way to enter into recovery mode without a power button? Otherwise, I will have to throw my precious S3 to the trash, and I definitely not want that! Please help!
Thanks in advance.
Finally, I managed to fix it by performing adb reboot recovery while the phone was loading the ROM (during the ROM animation).
Nice tip ! Good to know and big thanks for your own reply.
