Every custom windows mobile 6.5 rom I have tried so far has caused my video playback (video files and mms videos people send me) to be very slow and choppy(slow fps like 1-2 fps).
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a fix for this or is this a wm6.5 issue? any help would be appreciated
Does anyone have any ideas about what is going on here. How can every wm6.5 rom have an issue with this. I have used MightyRom 6, Energyrom, and Haze 1.4 and they all won't play back video files worth a darn. Very slow and choppy video playback.

Since July I have an annoying problem with playing a video which was made by camera in VGA.
It freezes every 1 - 2 seconds.
I have problems only with this type of video.
Which packages do I have to replace?
Or do I have to do something else in my kitchen?
P.S. Tried 2.14 - 3.14 Drivers.
Does anyone know, how to solve this problem?
Please, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TCPMP (The Core Pocket Media Player) is a free alternative. This is where CorePlayer came from. It plays any format with the best results, it can even display subtitles. It will make the best use of your hardware. Assuming you have an HD2, it will play DVD Rip movies without any problems, just as you get them on your computer.
I want to get rid of freezes for default (HTC) player, because I want my HD2 work better with default soft.
You could try installing leo cpu speed and disable speed scaling, that may help.
Sounds like an issue reading from the sd card though, it may be worth backing up your files and formatting the card.
Did you change roms recently, i.e. around July 1st?
I made the last my rom yesterday.
And this issue have all my users.
Doesn't anyone know how to solve my problem?
If you could upload a sample captured video, then somebody can try in their mobile and then you identify its an issue with player or recording format, bitrate etc.
I just moved form an Touch Pro to a HD2 and am very dissapointed about the divx (avi) playing. What is the recommended player?
I tried the Coreplayer (which I was using on the touch pro) and was very satisfied with, but the quality of the video in divx (avi) format (using the same video file to test) is much worst than when I was using my htc thouch pro (older and slower processor). Speed is fine but there are a lot of colour artifact and pixelation issues.
And if coreplayer is the best player for the hd2 can somebody tell me what are the correct settings on the hd2 (video mode, colors, etc.)? I can see that on the touch pro i was using the qtv video mode but this is not available once i installed on the hd2.
Thanks

Thanks really alot. I tried almost all combniations but not the one you suggested. It works fine now.
Shouldn't your post be pinned to the top. It must be a quite common problem.
Thanks again, and really enjoyed all your other links as well (I am new to the hd2).
With flash 10.2, after 5 mins into playing flash video(HD or no HD), the streak will reboots itself and I have to take out the battery for it to boot.
Does it happen to anyone else? I tried it on att 2.2, stock 2.2 (318 &345), streakdroid 1.9
And at the rare time it doesn't crash/reboot. HD flash videos are also very slow and jerky to a point it's unwatchable....
Take the HD videos at megavideo for example
not looking for solution, just wondering if it's the same for everyone else??
EDIT: to answer my own question without bumping.
Got a replacement streak, same jerky HD flash performance but doesn't restart by itself now, so it's definitely hardware problem. And this is on DJ steve's 1.9 with perfmod
Hi everybody.
I have seen threads like this but i did not find an useful answer.
So i have a lot of lag when recording videos due to continuous autofocus.
Somebody said that the camera apk from captivate does not have laggy video recording. If that is true, could somebody post it here? I am looking for possible solutions to avoid taking the phone into service. I am also wondering if there is anybody else with this problem.
Why htc titan had lag YouTube videos and games is laggy too?
How do you mean Lag in YT videos? Are you using cellular data or WiFi? Which games seem to be lagging for you? I can honestly say i've not experienced this.
Got no lag on my Titan at all, quite the opposite.
No issues of lag. If even so, WP7 is even more responsive and snappier than windows mobile on the HD2 and android gingerbread on the samsung note.
Hello,
i had buy a Titan that have also lag in Youtube.
It is so that the buffering is a lot faster than the movie play.
But the movie stock's... when the buffering is 100% the movie play without
problem to the end.
I have changed the Titan with another one, but the Problem is still there.
Now i have give the Titan in repair by HTC.
Edit: Behind a Hardreset no Problems but when install more Apps the Problems beginn...
I have testet: Hardreset no Problem in Youtube than install Navigon and the lag is there
I have testet: Hardreset no Problem in Youtube than install ca. 10 Apps and the lag is there
Sorry for my bad english
Maybe this needs to be reported to youtube so that they can update the app
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using XDA App
It is no Problem of App's... it's a Problem of Titan.
I have testet it with HTC-Youtube, Lazytube, etc. all have the lag.
When you play html5-videos with IE9 the lag is there
And IF i play sonic or star ninja lag is there
after update
I update today new htc ROM and still videos is laggy (
maybe it's a defective unit... better get a new one
i'm kinda worried bout this too
Haven't experienced any lag at all on Titan.
Iknow some guys, they own titan and they you tube lag too
I haven't experienced any lag at all on Titan either.
Maybe my phone is broken.i need replace and get new one.sorry my bad english
Don't return it yet. Turn off the srs sound enhancement. it's noted to cause lag in games and videos.

Yep, you only need to turn it off for audio though i believe. This should fix the lag.

I had pretty terrible lag during certain games like Sonic but reading another thread that was posted here, I disabled the SRS audio enhancement and it fixed the issue for the gaming. Maybe disabling the video for the Youtube would help out.
0 issues here.
Try turning off the sound enhancements in settings. the default is SRS, turn all of them off. Should fix some of the lag/stuttering.
I have the sonic issue as well but nothing else. Movies are fantastic and I think the video playback is second to none.
