i download files from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4392044&postcount=1
and the file name is AL1.dio
i think al1.dio file must
"
3. Copy AL1.DIO to card. (See to it that there are no other files in the card)
4. Insert card to memory slot of your device. Press and hold record button (beside the camera button) and reset button ?
"
i am wrong?
HOW TO FLASH THE ROM:
1. You must have at least 70% battery.
2. Use mini-SD card and format it to FAT16 (only use 2GB capacity and below, don't use SDHC card for it will not be recognized)
3. Copy AL1.DIO to card. (See to it that there are no other files in the card)
4. Insert card to memory slot of your device. Press and hold record button (beside the camera button) and reset button simultaneously. Wait until BOOTLOADER mode appears saying "SD CARD DETECTED", release the buttons.
5. Wait till it finishes until the O2 logo and splash screen appear. Follow the on screen steps. HAPPY FLASHING!!!

Hi I have done a search on the existing thread but can't find any relevant topic (for aussie).
I have a dopod 838 pro current using Black 3.0.1
IPL 1.04
SPL 2.03
I have decided to flash the ROM back to the official 3 network WM6, so I downloaded the RUU from 3 network website, and run the RUU. It works fine until it booted the phone into bootloader mode, and it just won't continue anymore (no memory card in the slot) The error message is saying it can't detect my phone (well activesync doesn't recognise the phone in bootloader mode anyway).
So I un-packed the RUU, renamed the NBH file to Heraimg and put it to my microSD. however my phone (while in bootloader mode) doesn't detect the microSD card.
can anyone give me a hint here?

1. Make sure you've got a good charge in your battery as it will take a while! Make sure the card is Fat32 formatted.
2. Rename the file on the SD card HERMIMG.nbh (your typo or lack of extension may have caused a failure as the bootloader looks for the exact filename)
3. Put the card in and then hold down the OK button (left side) and the power button (right side) and press reset with your stylus.
4. After a couple of seconds - you should get a screen with instructions on it (and list of what's to be updated) - Follow the instructions and all should work.
Hope this helps - good luck!

hi, you must place the rom on the sd card and then softrest while holding down the camera button. this will make the phone enter the bootloader and look for a rom on the sd card. i think that roms have to be specially cooked to be flashef in this way

yes it is too easy with a search in this forum so no one bother to reply...i think....
Format SD-Card as FAT32.
rename RUU_Siged.nbh to GENEIMG.nbh, Put GENEIMG.nbh on SD-CARD (root).
Charge your device at 100%!
Insert SD-Card in Gene, press AND HOLD "Camera" button, and do soft-reset.
If you see white screen with "Reading SD content":
Release "Camera" button, wait, and when countdown (start from 10s) in left-bottom corner of screen is appear, press "Power" button. Flashing is begin, and approx. 8 minutes long. After you will see "Success. Press any key". Do soft-reset. Congratulation.
PS: not all the rom can be flash via SD card, if you failed, do it the normal way with USB RUU

One thing more
In normal way by flashing using PC i make this before
1.Olipro's SPL for Old Gene
2. i have now white screen so i can flash the rom otherwise the device will breakdown if i did not jump the spl
SO by sd card there is no need to jump spl or what , explain please
greate very usefull info thanks
@Zinzar: I have never used JumpSPL trick, right from the time i flashed my first ROM, i flashed the HardSPL and as mine is a New Gene the Olipro method bricked it and then i unbricked it using Orefkov's method. HardSPL is permanently applied and is never needed to apply again. After that you can flash your phone in both way, RUU and SD Card. NO special thing is needed to do. just format the sd card with Fat32, 4096 kb cluster size (the default one), put the RUU_Signed.nbh on sd card and rename it to GENEIMG.nbh, reboot the phone in bootloader mode and it will read the rom file from sd card. After that just follow the onscreen instructions.
I hope i have answered your query coz i dont really got your question.
active sync not working after rom upgrade from sd card
hi all,
i have recently upgrade rom ver 6.5 21501 using sd card method.
now my gene could not connet with my pc for active sync.

please provide me the solution...
thanks to all....

How to flash rom on gene from the sd card
hi
pls see below details for the same
.HOW TO FLASH ROM ON GENE FROM THE SD CARD
1. Rename the .nbh file of your rom of choice to GENEIMG.nbh, drop into the root of your SD card.
2.Poweroff your phone
3.hold the volume down key and while continuing to hold it power on ur phone
4. The Phone will go into the bootloader mode, and will auto detect the rom image from the SD Card and ask if you want to proceed by hitting the power button. Hit the power button and the rom will install
Note : it should take about 10-15 mins (as of now i have not tried this try at ur own risk )
also make sure that ur SD card is Fat32 or format the same to Fat32 & use a smaller memory card the smaller the better
this is as per my experience using the above method on my previous phone ie gene(P3400i)
correct me if im wrong
thanks
hari

I am a newbie on flashing non-offical roms.. I did look at wiki but it seems my atom life can't go into bootloader mode (camera button + reset). Here are my questions regarding flashing cooked rom by sd card.
1. how to get Atom Life into bootloader mode so it flash the file in SD to the unit? I did tried holding the camera button then push the reset hole, after released the pin (still holding the camera button) the unit boot like normal....
2. can I use 2GB Mini SD or it have to be smaller than 1GB?
3. is the rom file should name AL1.DIO in the SD card?
many thanks
1- Bootloader: Press & hold Record (not Camera) + Reset, release Reset before release Record.
2- Ok to use SD 2G.
3- Must use Flexhex to cut 12 first byte & save as AL1.DIO into SD, put yr SD into yr phone, then enter bootloader to enjoy yr new ROM
I need a profeesional who could help me what to do?
First I tried to instal a new rom through using MiniSD memory card, so i got the files from a very reputable website whish is this one. the name of rom WM 6.5 21500. I entred into the bootloader, it successfully dedected the MIni SD. but the screen stoped i was not able to make a choice through the menu.
So i removed the battery then the phone doesn't want to open.
Plz can any one help me, by just telling me what to do.

well... i know...
thanks for sharing. but i'm asking those question to Islamaburahmah.
in fact.. i always use V-Gen 512Mb for upgrading.
never fail.
even a "half dead" ATOM/ATOM EXEC have been fully recovered by my Luvly V-gen 512Mb. no need for JTAG unless a real Brick which can't entering bootloader at all. (did a little trick on ATOM wiki plus some improvisation to push the device entering bootloader)
hehehe....
yesterday i have revived a "stuck in DSUU Mode" Atom Life due to a Failed upgrade process from PC. (the PC is restarting itself when My Friends Running the official WM6 .EXE ROM Updater (get it from www.seeo2.com)
I flashed a stock rom
_HTC HD2_RUU_Leo_HTC_NLD_1.66.404.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship
and now I check my bootloader and it says
spl-2.08 cotullahspl
so what's wrong?
I saw around the forum that hspl is erased after stock flash?
whats wrong?
hspl is only erased if you restore an official rom from your microSD card.
This is noted in 4) in the HSPL thread.

so how do I do that?
can it be done with my 8GB / 1GB sd?
what files do I import to my sd and how do I flash it?
You should really put a little more effort in searching yourself than just asking questions. If you read the HSPL thread it is all noted there and this question has been asked 1,000,000.48 times already.
okay, thanks anyways for the answer, I will check into it
Check this
Run HSPL3_PKG.exe and select SPL 1.66.0000 or a different Version with 0000 at the end.

No sir, Don't use a 8GB SD-card to flashing Stock ROM!
Maximum 2GB is recommended.
Steps:
- Right klick on the HTC HD2_RUU_Leo_HTC_NLD_1.66.404.1_Radio_Signed_15.30. 50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship select Extract (Winzip/Zip7/...)
- Copy the "RUU_signed.nbh" to SD card
- Rename the "RUU_signed.nbh" to "leoimg.nbh"
- Reset the device while pressing the volume down button.
- Follow the steps on your device.
Why wouldn't you be able to use a 8GB card? The only card I have is 8GB and I've used it 2 times to restore stock rom and it has gone perfectly...
[edit]
I just tried it again it at least works perfectly for me:
1. Format SD card through windows (FAT32)
2. place leoimg.nbh of official rom on it
3. Hold voldown and power to enter bootloader screen and press power to flash
It dit restart once about 20% through with a big exclimation mark, but restarted immidiatly and completed the flashing.
This has happened once before when I had HSPL'ed my device and restored it this way.

The reason way I mentioned (don't use a 8GB SD-card) is based on the feedback of users.
Flash stock ROM over a 8GB SD_cards don't work in almost 70% of the cases. so to prevent (lot of troubles) We mention to use preferable a 2GB or a 4GB SD (the latest who works in 85% of the cases)
ok guys, thanks for the feedback
+1 thanks for everyone
