Hi!
Im looking for a new BT headset for my phone and i really want one with mini-usb charger so i can use the same as for my phone. But not all manufacturers write out what type of charger they use.
So please, can you guys give me some exampels of nice looking headsets with usb-charger?
I use one of these:
http://www.trittontechnologies.com/products/TRIBH102.html
One of the main reasons for me getting it was that it has a mini-USB charger like the phone. Plus, you can use any headset with it and still place/receive calls
Plantronics Voyager Pro;
Plantronics Discovery 925 and 975 (the transport case includes a batery that is recharged at the same time that is the headset if inserted on it, for when you are away from a powersource and need the headset recarged).
Just to mention this 3, but for sure more exists (I think that some LG also had it...)
The Voyager Pro uses a micro usb, not a mini usb. It is definitely a different charger than what the phone uses!
On a side note, the Voyager Pro is the best headset I have ever owned (including 2 iterations of the jawbone)
KD8FRE
But with an adapter from mini to micro USB it's solved... And then you can use your HTC charger to charge the Plantronics Headset.

I you like listen music while doing sport, my recommendation is Motorola S9HD. For me the perfect balance of sound quality, shock resistance and weight.
I'm using the Plantronics Voyager Pro, but having problems answering and ending calls using the control on the Voyager. Are you not having any problems? I want to keep using it because no one knows that I'm on a headset.

Every once and a while I have an issue ending the calls, but other than that it works just fine. It is a rarity when I do not have the phone handy to end the calls, so its not a big deal to me.

So far no problems ending calls. Just press once wait 1 sec and call disconnected (same as aswering, press, 1 sec, sound notification, speak).

Any recommendations or ones to avoid?
I think I'll need one for when I'm driving.
OR do I actually need one? Do the supplied headphones do a good enough job?
Thanks

I have a Jabra 620BT, it works perfectly with the TyTN, and it has also a small display that shows the number of the caller, so you can keep it in the cas!

Most of thge mobile bluetooth headset are manifactued by jabra anyhow
this is very similar
http://www.jabra.com/JabraCMS/EM/EN/MainMenu/Products/WirelessHeadsets/JabraJX10/JabraJX10
and this is the best
http://www.jabra.com/JabraCMS/EM/EN/MainMenu/Products/WirelessHeadsets/JabraBT800/JabraBT800
if you like earbuds, the hbh-ds970's work perfectly with A2DP.
Switches effortlessy between phone calls and conduits pocketplayer, very good quality sound.
Minor drawback -- have noticed infrequent 1-second hangs, but seems to be related to mailbox access intervals.
cheers
Problem using handsfree
Hello! I am using a Nokia handsfree (from my old phone!) connected to a TyTN. The problem is that it's not handy at all. When using the Nokia 6310i phone I could do the following:
- press the headset button and wait for a BEEP
- say a name and hear the headset repeating that name
- the phone started to call that person
When using the TyTN things changed. If I'm trying to follow the same three steps, I get the following:
- press the headset button (nothing happens and only after a few tries I hear a BEEP on the TyTN, not in the headset)
- I don't know when to say a name if the TyTN is far away from me because I can't hear the BEEP
- when I say that name it looks like the TyTN is not "listening" for what I'm saying in the headset but it uses it's own microphone instead
- when the conversation starts everything works ok
Imagine that all this is quite annoying when driving. Anyone ever had similar problems?
Re: Handsfree problem
Same here Innov. For voice dialing the Sony Ericsson HBH-30 worked as you describe with my Sony Ericsson T39m, except there were 3 beeps before I had to say the name. With the TyTN, after pairing apparently succesfully, the HBH-30 never stops beeping!
So only certain bluetooth headsets are compatible with the TyTN?
:?
I use the Nextlink Bluespoon AX2 - only 10g, sits inside your ear and great quality. Boasts up to 1500 hours standbye too! Pics/review on my website... http://rakh1.homeip.net Cost is just over £25 from mobilefun - not bad considering the original AX was nearly £100!!!
I use the Motorola H700 and have also used the Motorola HS850 both work really well and initiate MS Voice Command reliably for driving.
Software or headset?
Sorry, but I really don't think that the solution to this problem is in the headset that you are using. I believe that what I need is a software for my TyTN with Windows Mobile 5. The fact that the TyTN only starts to use the hands-free's microphone and speaker AFTER the conversation has started (and not before, in order to be able to use the voice dialing) proves that what I need is some piece of software for my PDA.
Another example. If I use my hands-free with another mobile phone it works ok, but the sounds that I hear when it asks me for a name to call are different. Because they come from the mobile phone to the hands-free.
Any ideas of such a software?
I'm looking at getting a bluetooth headset for my HD and was looking at the Jawbone 2...
Does anyone have one? If so, is it any good? Any suggestions for other good ones?
Thanks in advance
yup I've got a Jawbone 2, works very well with the HD even MS Voice Command works with no hacks on the standard orange ROM. Light comfortable and well made although I use a speaker in the car as I hate wearing any headset all the time.
The two niggles I have are:
1. the charger isn't a mini or micro USB so its another cable to carry round
2. sometimes the incoming call ring will only ring in the headset (meaning you've got to wear it all the time or miss calls
D
I to use the Jawbone2. works great, I had a custom moulded ear piece for mine so it stays in my ear and stops all outside noise.
does yours only ring in the headset as well, i.e. not the phone when connected?? It bugs me, in fact thinking about it if the OP wants mine, you can have it £25 inc P&P in the UK via PayPal? Its black totally unmarked, all accessories and probably only been used about 5 times!
D
Hey 900SS...
Can you tell me more about your custom ear piece?

I got it fron here: http://www.averysound.com/as.jawboneII.html
its a moulded ear piece..
Not sure if they'll fit but I'm intending on getting spare Jawbone 3 ear buds to fit onto a Jawbone 2 headset, see link:

im using jawbone 2 as well...
really nice....
connect in 1 sec....
i have a gold one....very nice
Hi there
I work in a phone accessories shop and everyone i talk to who uses the jawbone 2 say that its not as good as its made out to be the best earpiece i have found and ive tried a hell of a lot of them is the Plantronics 975 which has also got multipoint allowing you to connect up with 2 phones at the same time a feature the jawbone doesnt have and the sound quality is brilliant ive used it with my Touch HD for quite a while now with no problems at all
Dave
Hi Dave,
I have a jawbone and sometimes it disconnects by itself from the phone when not used for some time.
The BT icon on the phone, still shows that the earpiece is connected, but I don't hear the call.
Did you hear about this? Any known fixes?
Thanks,
Rami
no that never happened to mine, it was only that I wanted the phone to ring rather than the headset that bugged me. Sold it to the OP.

Can anyone recommend a good BT headset for the Tilt 2? I currently have a BlueAnt Z9i, but it does not work with the phone. I've used 3 different ROMs and a number of radios, and the phone has never been able to pair with the headset.
So, can someone please recommend a good replacement headset for me?
I am currently using this ROM (build 21892):
|R|6.5.5|ROM|WWE| ★ Energy "Leo" 23542/21892 |Mar 5| ★ Sense 2.5.2012 / MaxManila ★
I just need great reception, answer/hang up button on headset, and volume controls (optional).
Thanks!
I currently use an insignia model number ns-bthdp and it has been a great headset I specially like the fact that it doubles as stereo headphones

Thanks for the suggestion. It doesn't look too bad. However, I am really looking for a regular (mono, one ear) headset - unless I can find a stereo model that would allow me to detach the stereo component when not in use.

The plantronics Voyager 855 will do that...it's a BT stereo headset but you can disconnect the 2nd earbud and just use it like a regular headset too. I haven't used one, but I do have another plantronics BT headset (stereo only) that pairs just fine with my TP2

I figured it was new enough to work with a new phone, but I can't even get the phone to see the headset at all.
I even paired it with my old (almost 5 years!) Motorola H3 this morning, as a temporary fix and it found the headset right away!
I've had a Jawbone ICON for a while now, it works great with the tilt 2.
Do any of your BTs have a working mute button on the device? I am surprised that almost none of the BTs on the market have a mute button. I thought the whole purpose of BT was so that you could pocket the phone and still make and take calls. But if I can't mute from the headset then it defeats the purpose for me. I am aware that many people probably never mute their phone calls. But those of us who use our devices for business purposes, mute is a requirement for conference calls.
Ive got a Nokia BH-103. Its a good headset, but i havnt used it with my TP2 yet.
Mute
The Moto H715 works with the tilt 2... You can mute the calls by pressing both Volume buttons.. I am pretty sure most headsets can mute a call, just need to see what butons need to be pressed
blackberry hs-655+, best BT headset i have used. So light you dont even know you have it on, has its own cradle that also vibrates when a phone call is coming in so if you have it in your pocket and your phone at your desk of something, you will feel the headset vibrating
A vibrating headset on my ear would likely freak me out every time it happened. LOL!
Invisio
Invisio G5. Great headseat, I have blown through many now, and this one is super comfortable, great sound quality, and the charging pack is an awesome feature.

I have a BlueAnt Z9i and it works just fine with my Tilt 2 with the stock ROM. It paired first try and activates voice command, answers and hangs up. The volume controls work fine too.
My other headset is a Plantronics 510. It is old school, but it also works just fine. Folks say this one sounds better.
The BlueAnt is more comfortable, has better noise reduction and is capable of higher earpiece volume.
The Plantronics, with the foam thingie, is better in the wind and sounds better to folks on the other end.
YMMV, FWIW, My 2 cents.

Thanks for your reply. You are the second person to tell me that they successfully paired a Z9i with the Tilt 2. I don't know what the problem is, but I am able to pair the headset with other phones, and I can pair the phone with other headsets.
I went with the Motorola H17, but the connection kept dropping so I returned it for another unit.
I'll say this, it is not a solution by any stretch of the imagination, but sometimes $0.02 counts. I have had strange behavior with my Moto S9 using the rom you outlined. The sound is often choppy and I cannot figure out why. As far as my H715 goes I have had no issues. Are you having this issue specifically with NRG roms or are the three roms you tried from different chefs and potentially using different BT drivers etc.?

Thanks for the input, it is definitely appreciated. I used the stock ROM, then the Leo Cell EVO ROM, and now the NRG ROM with the same results on each one.
It's really weird because my 5 year old headset pairs and works fine with the phone. It's just too large to wear for long periods of time (and the sound isn't great either).

Honestly, I think the oddball Widcomm bluetooth stack in the TP2 is one of it's biggest achilles heels...it doesn't seem to be able to give consistent performance across a single unit, let alone across the entire production line.
I think it's to blame for a number of issus that defy normal troubleshooting (like the one you're seeing now), as well as extremely high level of batt drain whenever you connect to/with anything via BT
Hello all NOTE 3 users!
I would like to ask You about Your Bluetooth headsets experience with NOTE 3.
I started to use BT headsets more than 5 years ago (several types, Nokia, Motorola, SE, recently SonyEricsson MW600 and Sony MW1) and used it without any problems with Note1 and Note2, however with N9005 (stock rom XXUBMJ1) and currently Sony MW1 headset I am completely disappointed:
1. Headset disconnects by itself few times per week, does not want to restart the link by pressing "Answer" button until BT goes through ON/OFF
2. With BT headset connected - a few times per day - incoming calls, and outgoing calls starts without BT headset voice link active (even if BT headset is "connected"- in some cases during the call to start the voice link call bottom-right button on the note3 must be touched 3 times to in fact "activate" the headset voice link... => this should be ALLWAYS working!
3. SONY suggests Smart Connect (LiveWare) + Smart Wireless Headset Pro - problem exists with the software installed, I am testing it now without this software but with similar bad results so far...

I'm using a LG HBS-700 with my N3, and have had no issues what-so-ever.
SONY MW1 does not perform well!
Hello, I am continuing tests - NOTE3 + SONY MW1 (most current firmware 0.1.E.1.6) with all software installed is not stable, but without Smart Connect (LiveWare) + Smart Wireless Headset Pro software....it is a Total Disappointment! SONY "Premium" headset stays connected with NOTE3, however almost each phone call - incoming or outgoing
does not activate the voice-over-BT audio (phone bottom-right software button on the call screen remains gray, so the phone speaker is active, even if You answer the phone call by pressing ANSWER button on the MW1 headset) - it seems that BT connection between NOTE3 and MW1 becomes "lazy" few minutes after the phone call end, and then does not start again until phone soft key is pressed, or phone call is dropped and another call attempt is made.
If any SONY development guys are reading- please test it.
I have used MW1 with Note2 - it was not very bad, however much less stable than MW600 which was truly PERFECT.
With NOTE3 this is much less stable with software, and without Smart Connect (LiveWare) + Smart Wireless Headset Pro it does not work at all.
I will write to SONY support soon
i tested my MW1 with Note3 at a Samsung retail shop and indeed I am very unhappy with the audio quality. the audii cracking a lot
Motorola Boom
Using this now after testing the Motorola Sliver II. The Boom is about half the price and the sound is the best I have heard in quite some time.
I use it all day for work and have had about 20 different models but for the price, the sound clarity and loudness make this a great choice.
The Sliver had issues where everyone talking to me said I sounded as if I was in a tunnel.
Try the Boom. You'll see!
I haven't had any problems with my Motorola HX550, in fact it has been a great BT headset for $40 dollars. No one has a problem with how I sound.

I'm glad I checked this before getting and mw1 as I as about to pull the trigger on this to use with my klipsch headphones. Has anyone heard about the sbh52 from Sony yet or the mw600 with the GN3?

It knows when it's on your ear, but I don't quite know what this function really does because it still works even when off my ear.. sooo
Ear buds don't really suit me, it seems to mount alright on my ear but could seal on my ear better.
This really worked great for me at first on my Note 2.
I don't know if it's the headset because I didn't have issues with my LG G2 or Note 3 however, it seemed to pick up the mic very poorly. People weren't able to hear me well and I need to practically shout for them to hear me.
When I use my car's Bluetooth it doesn't seem to have any issues. It sorta cut in & out on my G2 though now that I remember.
Anyways anyone else happen to have the same headset?

I have the bose over the ear bluetooth headset abs love then. I just ordered the LG tone infinum I think it's called to try then out with the watch.
Keep us posted with your experience of the LG Tones as i plan to buy them in a couple of weeks.

I use the Motorola Buds, good for music and built in mic for calls.
I use LG HBS Tone Plus. Would have gotten the Infinim, but the reviews I read were not too favorable in comparison to the Tone Plus.
I love that they are very flexible and light-weight, I can run with them without them bouncing up and down, I can control music and audiobooks (play/pause/ff/rw), as well as phone calls (answer/hang up/ volume up/down) from the buttons on the right and left side of them.
I also love that they tell me the battery status when I turn them on, and that they let me know they are running out of juice "Battery very low. Recharge now."
I use them for my Note 2 and Gear S simultaneously, which is nice.
The best part about them is that the earbuds are kept in place with magnets, and I can have one earbud in my ear, and the other one left in it's little magnetic cradle, so I can hear my surroundings.
If you can't tell, I am totally in love with my Tone Plus. They have survived daily sweaty runs, rain, snow, Off Deepwoods, steam... If you are a runner, get them. If you aren't, get them anyway.
Bluebuds X are amazing and great battery life.

+1 for JayBird Bluebuds X.
I'm not sure how common the battery issue is, but the problem could stem from improper charging. The earphones are quite small and trying to charge them using an adapter that is suited for a Cellphone or tablet may put too much strain on the battery. This is an issue for all batteries if you're using improper charging adapters... battery life will ultimately suffer greatly. It's best to charge these earphones with something that outputs a small amount of charge... the smaller the charge, the better it'll be for the battery. Something like a USB jack from your laptop/computer or ones commonly found in vehicles today are suitable and shouldn't cause any harm. Regardless of this issue, JayBird will gladly replace the earphones just as they have for those that have had this issue before.
Other than the battery issue, another common concern has been with the earphone tips. Some say they don't hold well inside the ear and don't block out outside noise well either. I personally never used them beyond just trying them on for the first time when I got my Bluebuds so I can't confirm this, but I highly recommend pairing the Bluebuds with some foam tips from Comply... They are recommended many times over by other Bluebuds owners and I personally find them to be amazing.
Beyond the concerns, the Bluebuds have excellent sound quality and are known for having a perfect amount of bass. They're absolutely great for working out and I love how they fit. I don't ever really use them to make voice calls, but I recommend not wearing them in the configuration where the cable goes over the ear and the mic is located behind your head... It doesn't work well for voice calls obviously lol. Wearing them any other way is no different than your common hands-free earphones.

I have LG Tone Infinim too, but I don't know about you but while it pairs flawlessly with my LG G3 it doesn't want to pair with my LG G Pad (tablet) 10.1, when scanning for a bluetooth device on my phone it it finds it correctly by it's product name but on my tablet same process produces a device named "Misc" but when attempting to pair it it fails! I had high hopes for LG Tone Infinim but when it fails in something like this I doubt it's quality!

I would quicker blame the tablet then the headphones. I have it paired to my Mac, S6 Edge and windows 8.1 all without a problem. While I have occasionally had call quality issues, they are rare enough that it doesn't bother me so much.
I'm using two, one is Sony MDR-1RBT, second is Plantronics Backbeat Fit. Both with from my point of view excellent battery life time. The Sony should have up to 30h, can't confirm it in detail, but I'm happy with battery life. Sound is for me fine. To get plantronics at the end to was because Sony looks a bit heavy when I use it on the road.
I use plantronics beats 2, and they are really good..
