Did anybody here buy the holster from the tmobile store that they have that the g1 supposedbly fits in?
its around 24$ i think.
It was closed by sort of 2 clip things.
i'm primarily looking for a horizntal belt holster...
any ideas?
i have the body glove, it is in that price range. love it if thats what your asking
Theres a magnetic one, that fits a sidekick, it's what i use.
Body Glove
I have the Body Glove also and it's great. Perfect for the person (like me) who is rough on phones. And it looks good too.
I purchased the crystal gel case from boxwave It covers the G1 completely and offers excellent protection for when you drop the phone. I also bought the niteize side belt case. It clips on your belt and the elastic allows it to expand enough for the phone with the gel case on it to fit. This case closes with velcro so there are no magnets to create problems.
I got the one from the T-Mobile store last week but it's not the up and down one. But I have to admit was worth the money (even though I didn't end up paying for it love the gf) The one I got sits sideways but very nice and fits the phone well. Was a little snug at first but about 2 days later the phone just slides in to the case very nice.

I talked to a TMO rep at the store and said no accessories for G1 should have any magnets due to the compass feature. He advised that if you are going to use an aftermarket case, to make sure it doesn't have any magnets. The case TMO sells are magnet free for the G1.
As for the holster, I have it and though it fits the phone snug, be careful as the screen is facing out so make sure you have a screen protector.
I just bought my G1 last 2 weekends ago with a tmobile store belt clip, fits perfectly, sturdy rotating clip for horizontal or vertical placement, gets annoying having to take it out to text or open keyboard but otherwise perfect...24$
the pleather tmo horizontal case with attached clip. it's soft but not screen friendly soft on the inside so the screen protector is a must. great product though.
One warning. If you have a tendency to forget to snap the buttons, make sure you're using a hard or jelly shell to make the phone fit snugly. the basic stretchy straps on the sides are just barely too long to make the phone 100% secure IMHO without it.
i personally like this one.
http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page.asp?divid=T-Mobile&model=T-Mobile+G1&cat=Cases&skuno=82922
you can use it with the screen either facing out for in for screen protection.
I bought this one by Seidio. I had one just like it for my Blackberry 8820 and loved it. I love this one too.

Buy a bodyglove that has a belt clip for your g1 phone. You won't need to buy a suction cup or dash holder for your g1.
I clip it to my rear view mirror after pushing back the rear view mirror tab. Then I close the tab. Stays in place and very sturdy. It's even easier to see since it is under the rear view mirror and safer too!
I also can use the belt clip to hang the phone off my laptop. I don't clip it, just use the space between the glove and clip to hang it.
Also, the rubbery glove protects your phone if you drop it.
Getting my TP2 tomorrow, but really wondering about this...
Seeing pictures of the leather 'case' that comes with the TP2 elsewhere than in the US, is it the same case without belt clip in the T-Mo US TP2?
If it is, I want to be ready when I pick up my phone to get a belt clip equipped case as well.
Yeah man... the US tp2 comes with a gay looking leather case that has no belt clip. It looks like you have a man purse imo
yeah a man purse that slides into your pocket
You guys weren't lying -- that thing is pathetic. I don't know what the heck HTC was thinking when they packaged that.
The T-Mobile guy was also full of crap when he said they had one with a belt clip. Looks like I'll be doing some shopping online.
Thanks for the heads up on that one!
yes the cases htc give are always junk. i like the bodyguardz skin cases simply because the phone is already kinda thick and it does protect the phone. kinda of a pain to put on but after my 4th attempt throughout the years i think i did my best on the touch pro 2.
nko, does the screen protector part feel rubbery and make the touch screen a little less sensitive? I know it is like that with the Zagg on my friend's iPhone.
Got this hard thick rubberized case at the tmo store. It comes with a snap in/out belt clip if wanted. Seems to fit tp2 very well, and leaves accessible all need openings.
I just used the belt clip that came with my Wing. Fits like a glove!
Hand me downs FTW!
i am still using the case my dash came with for my tp2, it fits.
I just bought me a $5 case with belt clip. I just have to cut a hole for the ear jack. I'm not spending $10+ for a case

Yeah, I think I'm just gonna use the belt clip case that came with my Hermes. It's just a little longer but it fits for now.
Has anyone installed a full body screen protector like the bodyguardz ones? I saw this one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370244520409&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
But I bought this for the time being: http://cgi.ebay.com/for-HTC-TOUCH-P...ries?hash=item4399b91c94&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 (from what I've heard, these pop off easily)
This is a very delicate process for me. It's a balance between too bulky and too little protection. I want it to be able to survive it's first dreaded drop without cracking the case. I may just try to use both of them at the same time. When I'm doing physical work, I'll put the rubber case on, and when I'm at the desk, just have it out with the clear protector. I just wonder if you can clip on the rubber housing over the clear protector. The perfect thing for me would be to just have a rubber skin that slides over the whole body of the phone because I don't slide the keyboard out much anyway. That way it could be protected when I'm on the move and I can easily take it off when not.
I also bought one of those generic belt clip holders for $5: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310161485996&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT I had one before and their alright. The loops on the back will secure the phone to you if you're moving around but the clip may sag overtime though. I know I'll be replacing it eventually. The HTC OEM cases are much better, but no loops. There's never a perfect solution.
BTW: Does anyone know if the rubber case from the Touch HD will fit?
^^Just ordered one of those this afternoon. Looks similar to one I had before but can't beat $5 and then about $.50 in cashback haha
i just bought the cellet holster for tmob tp2 from ebay for $9.99 and it is perfect.
Cellet Rubberized Elite Holsters is the best. the elite holster is made of a hard plastic that has a rubberized texture coating for extra grip and durability. When you insert the phone you will hear it "click" into place. Phone is ultra secure within the holster. You can press the release tab on the top of the holster to remove your phone. The belt clip on this holster is awesome. Clip will turn/lock in different positions. The clip has a slim profile so it will not extend far from your waist and bump into things. You can access the charger port, volume, memory, etc. There is also a cutout for the camera on the back of the holster. This holster is designed to fit the phone face-out but it will also fit face-inward. Attach to your side and always have quick access to your phone.
i did buy a week before this one, the bodyglove case and was very disappointed. the case dug into the side of the phone, was begging to take up the protective stickers on the keyboard, and was very bulky, and when clip to my belt stuck to far out. two thumbs down for bodyglove,,,,,
two thumbs up for cellet holster!!!!

nice find.....i just ordered a different rubberized case for my Tmo TP2 but i may pick this one up as well. I agree with you about the bodyglove case. That thing has caused more harm to my phone than good (i.e. scratched keyboard and overall abrasive fit while it cradles the phone). given the pic above i'll def. have to check out the cellet holster.
one full day of playing around with it: IT STILL ROCKS. IT IS AS SOLID AS.... WELL A ROCK! LOL . great feel, and not bulky at all
yeah!thanks!!good work!

I think it's too exposed. (just a personal idea)

Oh yeah, I would never walk around with the screen exposed to the elements / harmful objects that could scratch, damage, or kill the screen.
you can flip the phone around to protect it some more the back of the case is cut out for the camera and speaker though, it has two small squares and a small rectangle
I loved the non-slip battery cover that my Kaiser had, now I have the Tilt 2. anybody know of or seen a battery cover for the Tilt 2 that is the same as OEM just non-skid/non-slip material instead? Was hoping to avoid getting a cover/case for it...been checking ebay w/no luck. Thanks for any suggestions!

the zagg invisible shield is very 'rubbery' to the touch, and my phone doesn't slip easily when it's on a flat surface.
it may be easier to buy that than to find a replacement battery cover and it's a much better option than using a (maybe ugly) case
the only drawback of the invisible shield is that it will start to look ugly after a couple of months, turn a little yellow and start to peel on the corners. mine is 4 months old and it looks like I may have to replace it in the next month or two.
i was looking at changing my one for one from a sprint as it looks like black rubber or something. maybe one to look at
as for the hard rubber cases.. there a few quid off ebay, but the front one scratched up my phone
I am about to get my Tilt 2 and I want to protect it. My first question is: should I get a case and a shield for the screen, or just the GadgetSheilds for my phone?
Secondly, my phone is an American AT&T Tilt 2, what cases are there aside from the Praetorian? I would love to have the Seidio case. If this case won't fit on my phone, are there any that look the same that would?
PS: I did look at the rubberized cases thread, but it kind of confused me. Thank you.
I have the Invisashield full body covering, its tricky to get on exacly right but works great, I also keep the phone in a Monaco Aluminum case there real nice, they come with a removable clip, I have the monaco case on my Tilt Tilt2 Samsung epix and my Microsoft Zune. http://cgi.ebay.com/HTC-AT-T-TILT-2...wItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item5ad5b16354
Go for a silicone case!
Don't get a hard rubberised one get a soft silicone. The simple rule is that a sharper material will scratch a weaker one.
My $2 dollar hard rubberized case became slightly loose and scratched my new $1000 TP2 to high hell. And I am one of the most careful people about these things.

I've had them both, and I would recommend Ghost Armor before Zagg Invisashield. That is unless you like a sticky touch screen, a bumpy "orange peel" finish, and a discolored screen.

I purchased a Monaco Aluminum case and I like the way it looks and feels, but I won't use it. There is no way I'm trusting my $350 phone to that friction clasp. I can just see me wearing the phone on my belt and something catching on the clasp, opening the case and dumping the phone out in a parking lot. The clasp just isn't secure enough for me. Wish I had noticed it before I made the purchase.
Are there any silicon cases? I only know of the Praetorian as far as the ATT Tilt 2 goes.
I received a Clairview screen protector and it is labeled Touch 2 on packaging, Touch 2/Tilt 2 on the receipt, but it definitely doesn't fit right. Anyone else have this problem? Is it just a mistake or do they not make one for the ATT TIlt 2? What's the opinion of Clairview elsewise?
Lastly, what is the best full-body screen protector, do they cover the chrome around the edge, and can you notice they are on at all?
Lots of questions, I know, thanks so much for the input thus far.

Agreed. I had the same style case for the original Tilt, and dumped it out a few times because i was walking and it managed to free itself. I use this one on my Tilt 2, but I don't use the belt clip at all. Just goes straight in the pocket. Besides that, the only thing I can complain about it, is how there really isn't much room to touch on the edges of the screen & the sensor at the top to turn off the screen during a phone call is blocked - but nothing a dremel can't fix!
I bought a bodyglove, nice case, adds a little bulk, but no scratching on the device as others have said.

I concur Bodyglove case it's sturdy and well designed. Like he said it hasn't scratch my device. The back cover makes it a thick phone not as thick as having an extended battery with the cover. The screen has a Case-mate protector film it's really good quality. Both my TP2 and it's case are from US Cellular.
