I like using the HTC Phone keypad TEXT input method but a quick vibration with each press would be nice.
I've been searching many forums and found nothing.
Any help would be appreciated.

does anyone know how to disable the automically popping up keypad?
There was a thread kicking around in this forum somewhere... it's something to do with downloading a "blank" virtual keyboard map to your device and setting that to the default input method. Then when it pops up you see nothing (as it pops up nothing!)...
Thnkx CrArc. But i think this method is somewhat to radical for me. I still use the keypad and in some occasions the keypad is the most easy way to do your thing.
I'm looking for a solution that disables the keypad automatically, but when I want to use it it's still available.
Hello,
I have recently upgraded to 2.1 and i was annoyed by the vibrant tactile feedback meanwhile using the dialer dial pad
in other words,
each time i press a number.. the phone vibrate *tiny*
Any idea how to suppress that feature?
P.S: i have already deactivated the sound/vibrant tactile for keypads, etc,, from system panel settings
If you've deactivated them then try google for other answers.
Maybe a reflash is due?

Don't think you can get rid of the haptic feedback on the stock dialer.

Click to collapse
Any suggested custom dialer you tried out with satisfaction?
Thank you.
I know the setting must be there somewhere but I'm not finding it.
Your assistance is appreciated in advance
Settings>Sound>Dial pad touch tones
Thanks....I knew it was there somewhere
I user Insertcoin, and Swype as the default keyboard. A small niggle is that the swype keypad is also displayed for unlocking using a PIN. Entering the PIN on the Swype kaypad is a bit painful, since it is quite small.
Is there a way to make it display a different/larger keypad for PIN entry?
there are no options for changing the keyboard input settings on the lockscreen on ANY room.
That feature is yet to be implemented, either by the developers of the rom or nuance communications.
Googling your issue did not help you, did it?
Unfortunately it seems to be an issue with Swiftkey taking over the lockscreen keyboard, but using a calculator layout, instead of a keypad layout. Just needs a bug fix from swiftkey, and there's a bunch of people asking for it. Until then, the only way out seems to be to revert to the HTC keyboard - I was just wondering if any of the wizards here had figured out an alternate solution.
@FreakeSport, I always do my searching before asking for help here. So if I had found something, I wouldn't have posted a question. But thanks for replying - appreciate it.
Can't seem to find where I turn this off.
Thanks in advance
Nevermind, found it in keyboard settings on the actual keyboard.
Though it was usually in general settings.
