new SMS by typing first letters of contact wm6.5 - Windows Mobile Apps and Games

Hi,
i want to write a NEW SMS and add a contact to the "to" field by typing the first letters of the name and hitting to the upcoming name as it was in wm6.1 in wm 6.5 there is no more list of all mobile numbers with the typed letters upcoming but a list with all email addrs. thats a little bit stupid i think. does somebody know a solution.
xperia x1 with [ROM][03.11.09] X1O LEO Hybrid WM6.5 21872 R3A

Hit backspace the list should appear. Why it's this way I don't know but that's how it is.

the list is working but there are only email addrs in and no mobile phone numbers as it was in wm6.1. tis is a litte bit strange for a software which is only for sms and not for email....

SMS - Contacts O2 XDA

Hi Guys,
Just a quick question regarding contacts. I sync with my outlook contacts at work, when i try and send a sms i press the contacts button. The thing is, it shows me an entry for each type of number
ie
Ali 07833454543
Ali +442078763345
Ali [email protected]
so thats three entries for one person !... as you can imagin it makes the list very long.
is there anything i can do, so that it just shows one line for each person, but when you select it, it shows the other numbers?
thanks
Ali
any ideas chaps?
a no would do
Mine does the same mate - don't know how to resolve it, SMS Name doesn't fix it that's for sure, and I've loaded SER 1.2 now... I guess it's 'cos you're using multiple service types, you have to see the different addresses (POP3/SMS)
in outlook, are your contacts displayed correctly?
What would be REALLY intelligent would be some way to have a shortcuts or "speed dial" list for SMS addressing. I only send SMS to a half-dozen people out of my 225 contacts. It would have been smart to allow you to address an SMS with the speed dial contact or some other list.
Any developers want to create some software for this? Guaranteed I'll buy it.
sms
its a lot easier with ppc 2003

ppc2003
hi
in ppc 2003 you dont have to find the contact by pressing the contacts iclon you just type there name in and it gives you options on the name also it has a character counter so you know how many you have typed. it also seems to run faster and my battery seems to last longer. i havent set the internet up yet but i will this coming week.

SMS character count

Hi.....
I have a Siemens SX56 with Pocket PC phone edition 2002..... Have Special Edition Rom 1.2 installed on it.... Guess it has ver. 3.17.03 base rom version..... PPC phone devices use outlook to send/receive sms messages......
My question is this...... when you write a new sms or reply to an sms, there is no character count.... how do you know when the first sms string is done (i.e., you've written 160 characters)??
Is there some kind of plug-in you can install that adds a character count to your message? Any kind of help will be appreciated. Thank you.
Take a look at sendSMS
http://www.ppc4arab.com/~unclef/sendsms/index.html
There was one other program called SMS Counter, can't find the URL
so here's the actual program its self with update
Hint: SMS character count has been added to Windows Mobile 2003.

Contact List

Hello;
I'm interesting if there is a option to show all contacts in WM "native" contact list. I'm able to get all contact from OutlookSession, but gte all contacts and draw there photo, name.. is to slow.
But contacts on my Raphael are shown in very pretty list, with "letter filters" on right side and it's very fast.
Thx for answers

Chronological display in threaded messaging

hi all,
actually i never want to make a new thread for this, but i've searched for all related post regarding this problem, and i got nothing. Well, the closest solution that i've found is the Zenyee's disable htc messaging interface application, but even that is not working for me.
the problem is the sms messages display in chronological manner, even though of course the threaded messaging option is "ON" by default. This problem only occur if you open the sms by using the manila sms interface (or directly by tap the sms tab), but if you open the sms conversation by using the WM, it looks just fine. I know, maybe it's a porting bug that hasn't been able to be solve (or maybe it isn't).
I just wanna know if anybody has a same problem with me. If yes, what have you done to solve this problem? and one more thing, is there anyway to change the shortcut of the sms tab, so when you tap the sms tab, it takes you to the WM sms display, instead of taking you to the manila sms interface?
i'm using ROMeOS V3.O1 WWE. WM 6.5 . MANILA 2
i'm really thankful and appreciate for all the response to this post.

[Q] Problem with Font/Text in HD2 Numeric Keyboard - What Is It and How to Fix?

I originally posted this under "General" and then saw that there is a forum specifically for Win 6.5 HTC HD2 questions...
I had no problems using my HD2's soft keyboard for the first few months, but a couple of weeks ago it started giving me problems. Specifically, when I type anything from the numbers/symbols screen, the characters change font, add spaces between and the texting generally misbehaves.
What is worse is that the symbols in question are illegible to the receiver of my SMSs and the Calendar Appointments that sync with Outlook are equally illegible (each character is represented with a "square" symbol. For example, when I send someone an SMS saying "meet me at 9:00", I see "meet me at 9 : 0 0 " and they see "meet me at XXXX".
Worse still, when I try to SMS someone who is not in my phonebook (dialing in their number), the phone cannot read these symbols and gives me an error. This is UNMANAGEABLE. Is this a common bug? What can I do to fix this? Will I have to switch to a non-native keyboard? What if I upgrade to Win 7?
Please advise and HELP! I have attached screenshots for clarity, showing what I write in SMS and what is received on the other end...
