HI ,
I just download a new rom to upgrade my 6828( it held all the time for the last rom), but when I try to fresh the rom and find the bootloader is 0.00.00 and could not strat the bootloader.
Is there any way to fix that ?
I try to use the orginal rom from HP, but when I try to fresh it, it tell me it is in-compatiable; don't let download back to the old rom.

Hi I'm a nubie,
Could anyone tell me I added my 1st rom over the weekend which was succesful apart from the fact my orientation on the screen is not working.
I have been told to try a few more roms to see if this is the phone or the ROM (My feeling is that its the ROM) as it was working fine beforehand.
Can somebody tell me if I need to delete the old ROM 1st prior to installing the new modded ROM?
Also if I went back to my original 3uk factory ROM would I need to go through the Gold Card all over again?
Thanks for your help
Regards
Ray
not directly rom dev related, therefore moved to q&a
next time pls search first for solutions and only then post possibly rom related problems (orientation issue sounds like one) in the specific rom thread
best
you didn't even tell us what rom you are using, and yet you want a solution for your problem.
and what do you mean by "delete old rom", you cannot delete it once flashed to your phone.
Excuse me but I'm only new to this so my apologies. My details are as below.
Firmware is shown as 1.5 on my phone and the ROM I downgraded to was build number HTC 2.73.405.5, as I had to download my firmware I was told before I could up upload any ROMS which has proved succesful.
With regards to deleting my old ROM I presumed when I copied that over to my SD card it would stil be on my SD card when i uploaded a new one?
Regards Ray
Sorry, I also meant to ask do I complete the wipe option every time I upload a new ROM?
So AFTER you downgraded your ROM, you then installed a custom ROM yeah??? Or no?
What was the last one you "uploaded"?
Yes it is best to do a full wipe when switching ROMs. Sometimes when updating to a newer version of the same ROM it is not necessary to do a wipe but it will say in the notes of that ROM.
.... And you will only need your goldcard again if you install a ROM using one of the official RUU .exe files.
But if you want to go back to a branded 3uk ROM I'd suggest using the pre-rooted one from Modaco's Stock ROMs + radios in update.zip format for GSM Hero,.. No need for your goldcard then, and keeps the custom recovery console on so you can switch and change your ROMs.
Yes, I did put aHreo onto my phone but it wasnt working properly so I done a restore when I restarted my phone pressing home and menu using the installed software which in turn put it back to my downgraded HTC ROM version Build 2.73.405.5 (Hopefully I havent gone back to an official RUU as you describe). If so how would I know this? would it be when I try to update another unofficial ROM?
As it now has me worried !!!
Regards
Ray

What I am doing is downloading either of the Zips and installing the latest gapps. You should go to the ROM thread for better support on this ROM by the pershoot himself or other users of this ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787399
Installations of all ROMs are generally the same. Make sure you have CWM and I believe you need a minimum of 5.5.0.4 to flash these ROMs. After that it is as easy as booting to CWM and picking the Zips.
Hope this helps.
The ROM size is small because GApps isn't included. That adds roughly 90MB to the overall size.
Not sure about 3G...I have a WiFi tablet but there should be plenty of info in the OP and responses to answer that q for you.
On top of a full wipe, consider backing up apps so you can restore them after you're done.
If you do a full wipe from recovery you shouldn't have a problem installing any custom ROM from my experience.
You can always flash back to stock if you're not happy. Just remember that you're doing a complete wipe of everything including recovery when you flash stock firmware. You'll have to start over with flashing recovery/rooting/etc if you intend to do custom stuff again later on.
And finally...if you're rooted, your warranty is already void. Flashing back to stock and then putting back stock recovery gets you back to factory fresh with the exception of the binary counter, to my understanding. I have no idea if you can fix that off the top of my head and am not worried about it much myself at this point...browse around and see what you can find on the subject, especially if you have to return the tab for servicing etc.
Hope this helps!

1) you should take the 20120816
2) 3g is working fine
3) first: make a nandroid backup via cwm. 2nd: factory reset (wipe data/cache) and wiping dalvik
4) install the cwm found on droidbasement (from where you get the rom) via Odin - the you can flash this rom
5) yes you can
6) if you brick your tab and will be able to flash back to stock, you might get warranty. If you can't go back, you might get no warranty.
I'm you sing the 20120816 on my gt-p7501 (nearly same specs as 7500). everything works fine. only front camera doesn't work.
In the past I had send my tab to my local service center because of a defect with the display. Before I had flashed back to stock, and I had no problems with the warranty.

I have the 6833, and I have been rooting by downgrading to .532, rooting, installing recovery, and then flashing which ever ROM I choose. The problem is that if I try to flash anything else after that, the phone no longer boots. I can't even get the SONY screen to come on, nor can I get back into recovery. So when ever I want to try a new ROM, I have to go back to .532, root, and then install the new ROM I want to try.
Surely I am doing something terribly wrong, but I can't figure it out. I'm trying now to install Carbon KK (coming from stock rooted .757) and I once again have a soft brick. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh yeah, my bootloader is unlocked.

First off once you have unlocked the boot loader you nolonger have to do the downgrade/root/recovery dance if you get stuck. Just flasf the latest FTF then a rootable kernel (jackie099 normally has one out in a day or two of an updated firmware) then you can just flash recoveries/supersu/etc as needed.
Not sure why the installs are failing. If you have flashed a custom ROM (carbon/PAC/CM/...) and it doesn't boot at any point the first step is to flash the boot.img file that is inside the zip of the ROM. Do this in flashtool and put the phone into fastboot mode (vol. up when connecting to the PC).

First, if it is stuck in a bootloop pull the battery. Now reinstall battery, then hold the power button, home button, and the volume down. A screen should come up then push the volume up button. This should put you into download mode. If you can do that, click on my signature for rom flashing basics and follow the instructions on how to flash a stock 4.4.4 KK OS. All the info and links you need are there. Enjoy !!!

Hi
I tried a lot of custom roms with my g2 and it was working well. However, i wanted to go back to stock and see if the battery lasts as long as it does when i bought the phone. After that i faced with the Lg flashtool problem ( stuck in %2 ) a few days ago and since then, i ve been searching for a solution. i tried the other fixes in the forum but didnt work on me. ( i might did something wrong, i dont know . I also tried with LG UP and guess what. it didnt work either. said 'unknown device' when i run it.( searched and tried to solve that too but another fail.)
Finally i went back to stock (a few hours ago). So i wanted to share this. Here is how :
Download and flash the flashable stock rom ( i flashed 30f) through TWRP from here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development-d802/rom-stock-30d-flashable-zip-t3070383 thanks to @somboons
( dont forget to read the full post and flash the patches too.)
Always be sure that the drivers for download mode are succesfully installed.
Therefore, you should be able to flash the kdz. Both LG Flashtool and LG UP works normally. No more %2
Sorry for my english.
Hope i can help
I have read somewhere that you have to be on a stock-based ROM to be able to go back to stock. What ROM were you on before flashing the somboons one?

Hmm. Before stock i was on prime rom which is a stock based rom. I also tried to flash stock rom on g4 pluz and failed.
If i remember it correctly, then you have to pull the network cable (or disable network) and then flash it. I think that was what it made working for me
