I just got my Hero 2 weeks ago, now I got a problems with my phone.
When receive incoming call, the ringtone only ring around 2 seconds, after that its only keep vibrating. (its not happened any time, but only sometimes, so its hard to return it to service center and prove my problem right?)
Thx for reading my problems, I hope I can get some opinion from you all.
you know, if you put a brief description of your problem in the title that helps to keep the forum nice and clean...

So WTF!
Things that stopped working that I have noticed about...
My trackball light
button lights
led lights
And now I'v been late for work for 2 days...and I just noticed that my alarm sound doesn't work...if I go into alarms and pick which sound it does nothing!!!!
Any help about this???
I think if its that broken, maybe you should return it?
Not sure what you did to your Hero....but mine is still in top notch condition.
I just used it as a normal person..will call support
There's already a thread about this, not sure its link, but if you search you'll find it. Seems a few people are having the problem and a hard reset does not fix the issue either.
so no solution yet?
Option is to turn it in...but Im not in favor to loose the phone already for 2weeks and more

Don't know how the rules are over seas (I live in holland) but when I went back with my previous htc diamond
I just got a new one and the old one got sent back to the manufacturer never saw it again.
(I went back to the store after just 4 days so maybe that's why they didn't repair the old oone and just gave me a new one)
So I would call them and ask how their service is, maybe you don't have to mis your phone
Excuse me friends,
i already posted a quest somewhere but no answer so i'll post once again. Could someone please say what the led should do acttually. i've spoken to some members. some say that it doesnt flash for missed calls n text. some says that it should have ...... mine flash only on charge and on receiving mails. (nothing on sms and missed calls.) i just want to confirm whether there is a problem or not before contacting my provider. thanks.
P.S i am refering to the led, not the trackball.

here in germany it depends on the subscription plan. If you have one with a small fee they send it in. If you have one with those expensive business plans you get a new one in 48h (vodafone, dont know how o2, d1 or e+ handle this)...

The led flashes on e-mail and charging (empty phone also)
The trackball flashes on sms (text messages)
At least that's what my Hero does
Hi guys,
I wanted to ask a thing...
Sometimes when im working on the phone and i get an incoming call...i dont get that slider to answer but just 2 buttons , to reject and to accept a call.
I woould like those buttons to be always there instead of the slider which sometims is buggy when answering...
Any ideas on how to achieve that?
Cheers
I don't think that there is a workaround for this. If you are working on your phone you won't need to unlock it. Problem is, if only those two buttons came up with your phone in your pocket, you might drop the call or answer to someone you might not want to talk to by mistake
yeah true....but i dont keep my phone "naked" when its in my pocket...
and find it more usable to click a button then to slide ti answer which sometimes...alot of times .. is kinda buggy..
Well, hopefully it might be easier to answer by unlocking after the (promised) update!
thank you very much for the replys
Hi,
Is there a way to know that the person I am calling is on call waiting?
I didn't notice any different sound or notification on screen when i'm calling someone who's already having a conversation. I'd be interested in a solution for that too, maybe i'm missing something
Guys,
no one has a workaround for this. old phones always had this feature, how come smartphones dont?
Don't you hear a short beep every ?? seconds? I thought that's how it worked. I have never tried it on my SGS2.
No beep, just the default ringtone pattern as if calling someone who's not speaking at the phone in that moment.
Sent from out of space using Thuraya 2 satellite !

yeah that is it, works fine for me, yesterday i was on a call and had another call coming through it made some beeping noises so i hung up and took the call.
Remember you have to actually activate the call waiting with your network in order for it to work but it works 100% with the GS2 ive used it many times.
Thanks for confirming that. I was sure this is how it works.

Sorry, but i was talking about the warning when i call someone who's already in a conversation, not about my call waiting and that's what the OP asked as well
Hi all.
First off a great site here. I am new to android (well not strictly true I did have the Desire when it very first came out and I hated it sold it after a week) Any way I am now converted to Android from Iphone. So I am a complete and utter noob
I have got the the S2 and what a phone, never miss a phone call or antenna problems on this puppy.
So my problem is when I get a text msg it only reads out the number of the person and does not read the actual txt. When I get phone calls it tells me who is ringing. This is a problem for me as I want this for when I am driving. Please help.
I have not rooted my phone yet as I said I am a complete noob. Does not look as easy as jailbreak.
Thank you very much. Look forward to your response and no doubt I'll get told off for reposting but I have looked now for 3 days
This phone can do this? I would like to know how to set this up.. I would love for the phone to tell me who is calling...please tell me how to do this...I am new to the Droid as well...came from BB...

Double press/tap HOME key to bring ON Voice Talk.
Turn ON Driving Mode.
Hit the MENU button --> Settings -->Scroll down --> Voice Talk Settings --> "TICK" Show body of message.
I suppose that should solve your problem
(It sometimes takes a while to read out the message depending on your connection..so plz be a lil patient Cheers)
Not really the same thing. There should be a way in android to have it announce who is calling or just texted you without leaving in driving mode constantly. Symbian used to have this, but I don't believe Android does.

I just use Tasker for this, though some would balk at spending on an app worth 5 dollars for a phone worth a hundred times that =)
After searching this forum and Google in general and not finding any answer to this issue (probably since I'm using the wrong search terms - sorry, English is not my native language), I hope I'm not bothering with my problem here...
Every now and then, the call quality is incredibly poor.
I hear things extremely overamplified, voices sound like really loud, clanking tin cans. It's totally unacceptable and annoying.
Sometimes it happens, most of the times calls are perfectly clear though.
I tried to find out what kind of circumstances these bad calls have in common but didn't find anything.
It can happen when I have poor or great signal.
It happens with all numbers I dial.
Usually, it happens when I call somebody. But I also had it happen when I received a call.
Sometimes a reboot fixes this issue. But not all the time.
And quite often, I dial a random service number a few times until the noise is gone, then I can call people normally again. For a while.
I cancelled noise suppression and amplification - it doesn't make a difference.
I lower and raise the volume - nothing changes.
Funny thing is that I can tell from a symbol on the display that the next call is gonna be screwed up so basically, my Galaxy appears to be aware that something's not OK sometimes.
I would love to post a screenshot but unfortunately, the forum doesn't let me yet.
Basically, the icon looks like a crossed out fever chart.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Cheers
Alex

Sure. But I can't reproduce the problem.
Sometimes a boot fixes it for a while, sometimes the problem still exists even after rebooting.
Post screen shots if possible.
