[REQ]Remote control Cell phone from PDA ?? - Windows Mobile Apps and Games

I'm looking for a software to control another cell phone (SE) through bluetooth...
Like Remote Desktop, from PDA to PC, so with a PDA device can "take over" my other cell phone...
Probably a Java Server side software for my SE (or whatever other phone supports Java) and a client for PPC....
Thanks in advance.....

Bluetooth Dialling from Laptop

I am using an XDA2 with a newly upgraded 1.60.00WWE ROM and was really pleased to see the update to Bluetooth to allow serial connections in this release.
I have a fax application on my laptop and want to connect the comport on the laptop to the BT comport on the XDA2
I click on the new checkbox 'Inbound Com Port' and everything seems well.
If I set up a dialup networking connection to an ISP, or try to fax, the port opens successfully but no data is passed from the XDA back to the PC, so the PC always thinks there is a hardware failure.
The same connection works well with a Nokia (but who wants to use a Nokia?
Anyone else having this problem, or can anyone offer some advice to get this running?
Mark.

Hi, can someone help me locate software for my Wallaby?

Hi all. I'm a newcomer to this forum, as well as to the "Wallaby"-type phone, so any and all help or suggestions I receive will be very, very much appreciated.
I recently purchased a very used T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition phone from a private party. The seller's ex-husband was/is a Microsoft developer and had bought this phone when it was brand-new, intending to do software development on it, but had put it away in a drawer and had basically forgotten about it. When the seller transferred the phone to me, she was able to supply ALMOST everything that came with it. The one glaring exception was the Pocket PC Companion CD that originally came with the phone when it was new. (Apparently her ex-hubby took it with him).
I actually didn't intend to use the phone portion of this device at all, as I have a newer Windows SmartPhone for that purpose. I had bought it with the intention of downloading some software into it (Microsoft Money, etc.) that will not run on my SmartPhone. However, I soon discovered that in order to do any downloading at all, I must first establish a connection between my laptop PC and the phone, and herein lies the problem.
Because I did not receive the Pocket PC Companion CD, the software that establishes the connection between the laptop and the Pocket PC Phone does not seem to be installed. I DO have ActiveSync 3.8 installed on my laptop for the purpose of sync'ing up my laptop with my Windows SmartPhone. However, ActiveSync 3.8 does not seem to be able to establish a connection to the Pocket PC Phone. Connecting the USB cable from the USB cradle holding the Pocket PC Phone, to the USB port on my laptop, causes the following error message to display on the phone:
"SYNCHRONIZATION ERROR
To synchronize this device, you must install ActiveSync 4.0 or higher on your desktop computer"
I was under the impression that ActiveSync version 3.8 was the latest and most-current version -- unless that version is only for SmartPhones, and not for PocketPC Phones??
Can anyone supply the Pocket PC Companion CD (or the software that came with that CD) that was originally provided by T-Mobile?
And can anyone suggest a source for the version of ActiveSync that is needed for this Pocket PC Phone to be able to sync up with my laptop?
Also, if I do install that ActiveSync version, do I risk accidentally overwriting the version of ActiveSync that is already (correctly) loaded on my laptop for syncing the laptop to my Windows SmartPhone?
The following info may be useful:
Model No.: PW10B1
Platform: PocketPC
IMEI: 350314010270552
ROM Version: 3.04.00 ENG
ROM date: 06/12/02
Radio version: 6.24
Protocol version: 324e4
If you have any information and/or suggestions, please e-mail me at the following address:

Thanks!!!
Have you tried these suggestions?

I'm using active synch 3.8.0 ok.
On my PC I've got "Allow USB connection with this desktop computer" checked in File->connection settings...
Also got in the "Options" dialogue the "Synchronize mobile device clock upon connecting" checked.
After starting active synch it sits in the system tray and grey's itself.
On my XDA I'm running active synch too, and it works a treat.
On XDA run Active Synch, select Tools->Options...
Check "Enable synchro..." and select "'USB"
Also check the "Include PC..." box too.
Select the "ok" button at the top right
Now put your XDA in the cradle...
Active synch should pop-up and spin it's tray icon green spiny thing.
All should be well.
Start Explorer and there should be a "Mobile Device" item in "My Computer"
Good luck...
Else,
Did you try soft reset you XDA (small hole down left) or more extreem (as you will go back to factory setting and loose all data in it) by ard reseting it (very small battery hole down right) ?

Sprint Touch Pro Tethering Question (Not About Hacks)

This question is about how to actually establish a USB Internet Sharing link once the necessary hacks have been done to allow me to tether via a USB cable:
The Sprint user's manual says to start Internet Sharing, select USB in the PC Connection list, select the network connection in the Network Connection list (Sprint), plug a USB cable between phone and computer, and tap Connect.
This is all pretty straightforward, but there's something I don't quite understand yet: What kind of program or driver needs to be running on the computer? ActiveSync?
Here's my situation and concerns:
The computer I'd like to tether to is a Windows XP netbook (Samsung NC10). The computer I sync my Touch Pro with is my desktop computer which is running Vista Ultimate x64. Needless to say, the XP netbook uses ActiveSync and the Vista desktop uses Windows Mobile Device Center.
My sync partnership between the Vista desktop computer and phone is working perfectly and I'll be one angry hombre if I wreck that partnership by connecting the phone to my netbook. I also don't need to sync data between phone and netbook. All I want to do is establish the minimum connection between the phone and netbook that I'll need for Internet sharing.
So can someone 'splain how I should do this? Do I need to establish an ActiveSync partnership with my netbook before I can do this and will that affect the WMDC partnership I've established with my desktop computer?
I could just experiment, but I hope someone can warn me of the pitfalls before I fall into them.
Thanks!
Pete
Well, you folks left me to my own devices so here's everything I did:
I made the following edits in the registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing]
Extension= (delete the isext.dll value)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing\settings]
ForceCellConnection= (change the value from Phone as Modem to Sprint)
Then I followed these instructions:
Start the Internet Sharing application.
Hit Connect In the Internet Sharing application.
Connect the Touch Pro to the Laptop/PC via USB
Done. No other applications needs to run on the PC/Laptop.
This didn't work because the netbook couldn't find a Generic RNDIS driver. After some further research, I determined that the path of least resistance was to simply install ActiveSync. Once it was installed, the above instructions worked perfectly and I was able to tether my Sprint Touch Pro with the Sprint network without subscribing to the Phone As Modem service.
Notes:
If you simply delete the ForceCellConnection key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing, you can choose between "Phone as Modem" and "Sprint" in the Internet Sharing app setup screen, but I suspect that it won't work correctly anymore in "Phone as Modem" mode without the Extension=isext.dll value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing. I also suspect that the entire Extension=isext.dll key can be deleted instead of just deleting the isext.dll value, but I haven't confirmed that. My phone is tethering perfectly now so I'm going to leave things as they are.
If I start the Internet Sharing app in the phone before I connect it to the netbook via the USB cable, the ActiveSync program won't start, but the tethering works. But if I tap Disconnect in the Internet Sharing app before I unplug the USB cable, the ActiveSync program will start. For now, my plan is to simply unplug the cable first.

How To Control My PC From my Toshiba TG01

Does someone know how it is possible to control my pc from my TG01
And if someone knows a program showing your TG01 phone on your PC and you have the option to control your phone directly through the PC's mouse.
Thx and best rigards to all

I am using DotNetVnc ( .netvnc ?) it is a fairly old program but works perfectly on the TG01. I have to say that I use this to control my music server (Hifidelio) via VNC and my Apple Mac via 'screen sharing' (which is VNC by another name) I have yet to use it to control a PC.
You may need to install a VNC server on your PC to allow you to use this service (there are plenty of free VNC servers available), and you would normally only be able to control the PC when connected through WiFi.

[Q] PC Remote Control over WiFi

as it shows on the title,is it possible to connect my android based device to my PC via wifi hotspot and control it from my phone, its like teamviewer but without having to connect to the internet ,i.e the connection would be between the pc and cellphone directly.
i hope my point is clear.
Sometime like RDP will work over a LAN, but having never used a wifi hotspot I'm not exactly sure if the connection would be correct. Connected to the same router a phone would be able to use RDP to connect to the local IP (usually 192.168.x.x) without ever going through the internet.
If I tether my Droid 3 and the Windows 7 laptop with bluetooth this method works with any app that supports Microsoft RDP. You would also need to be using a Windows version with RDP host support to get this to work.
thanks for your reply
I'm looking for a remote desktop app for the Android that uses (or is able to use) a bluetooth connection to connect. Or if that's not possible, a local wifi connection, ie: direct from my droid to my computer's wireless card, using only my local area connection.
Does anyone know an app that will do this?
It needs to give me the full screen of my computer, so nothing like Gmote or any remotes used for media centers will work for this project. I'd also like it to keep my screen on the computer while I use it, instead of locking it up.
Basically PhonemyPC but without having to use the internet to do so.
My reasons? I'm trying to connect to and control my Carputer running Centrafuse in my Eclipse. So that I can leave the car running, go outside of it, and pull up the full screen to push buttons and control the car's media center (and more) or even from the back seat. You know.. for the ladies Without having to send every command over 3g to verizon's servers, back out to a tower, and back into my carputer, slowing things waaay down. Thanks!
Well you could use Microsoft RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) if your carputer is running Windows XP Pro or 7 Pro/Ultimate. Bluetooth support is better on Windows 7 as it has a newer stack. RDP host functionality is not included in home edition versions of Windows. The biggest advantage of Microsoft RDP is it doesn't require any extra software on the Windows host and is relatively easy to connect to. For the Android device, just search the market for your any remote desktop program that supports RDP. A disadvantage to RDP is that it sends the host system back to the Windows login screen when a remote session starts. This is a security feature so others can't see what you are doing and I don't think it can be disabled.
You could also try VNC, its similar to RDP and will work on other OSes, home versions of Windows, Linux, etc.
Either bluetooth or wifi tether (which is basically ad-hoc) should work. If the computer can surf the internet from the phone then it must be getting a local IP assigned.
Thanks for your suggestion.
However, this doesn't seem to apply yo what I need as A. It's for a mac (I have a PC) B. it doesn't seem to be an actual live streaming remote PC type of program, more like a monitoring program that sends you screenshots and data every few minutes, and finally.. from what I can tell their app is for ipod only, no android.
Maybe I'm mistaken, but thanks anyways
have you tried 2x client rdp/remote desktop?
EDIT:
after reading more of what you are trying to do...if you just want a media center remote, use myremote donate. it gives you keyboard and mouse control, as well as a full media center remote. works off wifi. you would need to download the server app for your puter off their website, and their client app connects to the server app to allow control of the computer. I use it all the time as a media center remote control. works awesome!
Try gPad, it's awesome. I hope that's what you're looking for. =)
