1.- True
2.- Very, very TRUE!!!! P900 is a phone with PDA, Pocket PC is a Pocket Personal Computer with an integrated Phone!
3.- Never tested it but true.
Dear all,
After reading this excellent guide to windows mobile emulators of the sega mega drive, I have tried both Picodrive 0.52 and Genesis Plus, both of which crash upon opening a rom.
Having done a bit of research around this, it seems all the original threads have been inactive for about 3 years. Now maybe that's because everyone got it working and so no more's required, but maybe not. In any case I'd be interested to find out if anyone's successfully running Picodrive of Genesis Plus on their HD or HD2, and especially if anyone had the crash-on-open problem and worked out a solution.
Finally, if anyone has recently done the research and can recommend the best & most up-to-date SNES emulator, that would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Dez

Hey everyone! I just got my hands on the HTC Touch Pro 2 through Sprint with Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional. I'm interested in finding out a few things:
1) Where can I find the resources/tutorials for writing applications for my phone? I'm a C++ programmer and would like to know if it's possible to port console based programs onto my phone, even if it means writing them again in a new language.
2) Are there any good open-source applications that are written to run on Windows Mobile 6.5 and the HTC Touch Pro2?
3) This one is very unlikely (or at least not wise to do) but are there any OS alternatives for the HTC Touch Pro2? Such as a Linux port? Just curious. I imagine even if there is such an OS it would somehow make life far too hectic when it comes to using the phone as a phone
Thanks in advance for any information!
head over to the right forum, you are in the touch pro forum, you want the rhodium (touch pro 2) forum. you'll get a better response there. I don't have an answer for you.
I've read some threads throughout XDA about emulators but nothing that I want answered, has been. I have a laptop, a pretty nice Medical Tablet currently running Windows 7 (which it was made for XP hehe but it has good enough hardware to run 7). I don't need 7, I just cannot stand the outdated crap.
BUT, the only reason I have that laptop is for automotive tuning. I run 1-2 Programs, very small in size. (http://www.tactrix.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=36&Itemid=58 and http://www.evoscan.com/ <--Android App being designed )
One piece of hardware attaches to the USB port of the laptop called an Open Port 2.0. It requires a couple drivers which I have. And The Android devices I use have the USB Host abilities but require something like a powered hub or powered cable since the Galaxy Tab 10 doesn't have power out.
So my questions are.... is this possible? The Galaxy Tab 10's screen is more than large enough for my needs. I wish they would make an Android Application for the Tuning software. Hell I've been asking for a Linux Application for a while. If I can eliminate my only need for that laptop, I'll sell it and.... IDK buy myself another tab, maybe donate to some of my favorite developers.
what are your thoughts? Is drivers an ability in one of these emulators for say Windows xp? Or anyone wanna port over my tuning software ? lol
Hi,
I was thinking about installing Windows on my Ultra.
Could you please tell me if this is possible ? I have heard that some problem with the Bios may arise
thanks for your expert advice !

It is perfectly possible if there is somebody to bother doing it. Years ago I was a happy owner of the HTC HD2....a device that could run perfectly Windows Mobile, Windows Phone, Android, Ubunto and much more Only iOS was never fully ported [ It could even dual boot Windows Phone and Android, Some folks tried even tripple boot.
There was in fact a full Windows 95 installation for the HD2. I guess newer versions of Windows would not run on it in at a decent speed. Not very usefull for daily use but a nice way to shock everybody  Sometimes I really miss this device and it's unique developer support. You could really have a totally different phone EVERY day without spending even a euro.
The HD2 is a freak of nature. It started out with Windows Mobile, so that's the reason why it can run "everything Microsoft" out of the box. Android and Ubuntu are open, so it's fairly easy to "port" them to it. iOS is closed like WM/WP, so that's why they haven't fully succeeded to get iOS up and running.
Is it possible to get Windows on the Ultra? Maybe, but i can't imagine any sane person would do it. It would've been all over the place if it was easy.
And just for the lulz, here's Engadget's HD2 review
"The HD2 is a magnificent monster. It is a hulking, intimidating, massive slab of a gadget. If you think the device looks big in photos, it's nothing compared to how it seems up close. Yes, the HD2 is large -- some might say too large -- almost less a phone and more a tablet." - Engadget
Totally agreed also a lot of drivers issues as well probably... That would be simply awesome, the Ultra is doing everything for me when it relates to multimedia and most of my office tasks can be done there that is why I was dreaming about a bluetooth mouse and keyboard and an mhl cable and I can drop my laptop but apparently it is not for now

I'm waiting for @krabappel2548 to port ubuntu touch to the ultra. If I had done any low level stuff I would give it a crack my self

Dear Lord Manhattan,
thanks as I like to follow through, I followed your advice !
but my problem is that the screen resolution output with my MHL is too low, is it the same for you guys ? Each pixel is like a cm square
I did set the screen size to 100pc but nothing changed, my monitor is a Full HD 21 inch
