Would you guys be able to kindly offer me some recommendations please?
I'm looking for an app that gives me an alert/reminder for every minute interval while talking on the phone.
I've only found 1 so far - MinuteBeep. It gets the job done when it's working. However, most of the time it silently crashes in the background and thus not active till a reset.
Im looking for something like this too, anyone have some answer?

I wondered if anyone knew of an app that would do this however have the ability to do it ahead of the time I need it to be silent. Say I had to go into work for a 2pm shift but wanted it to be silenced 30 minutes before. I know I could set the schedule for 30 mins before but it may not be the best of options if I need to know exactly when I'm in. I have tried autotask but it doesn't give such an option. Anyone have any ideas at all of what I could do to create such instances apart from creating another task in my calendar just for that.
I've been struggling with a problem with my Samsung Fascinate for several months now.
I've tried a number of ROMs, kernels and even going back to stock without any success.
My problem is a severe delay when placing a call. Whether I select a call from my contacts, my favorites or manually dial a call, there is a delay before the call goes through.
Sometimes it's 30 seconds, sometimes 1-2 minutes.
Anyone else out there have this problem or have any suggestions.
As noted above, I've tried a variety of ROM's and kernels. Currently running TSM with KGB kernel.
Often times, the problem appears to diminish after installing a new ROM but after a couple of weeks, it returns.
I've uninstalled alternate dialers that I've tried but still am perplexed...
Help !
Exactly when does the delay happen? Is it when you hit enter on the dial-pad but before it goes to the call screen, or is it after it goes to the call screen but before you hear a dial tone?
After I hit enter....the call screen doesn't appear for some time

You should download logcat app from the market. Run the app, then press home, attempt to dial like normal. Call voicemail or something. Then pause the log and read through to see what its doing or saying during this long delay.

There is not a newer one per se, but people have created better ones on their own.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I've attached a file that contains device information and a logcat file.
Appreciate any insight you or others can offer.
You have a lot of low memory conditions. That probably doesn't help.
You notice the log repeats a lot of stuff making request, crashing activities, then low memory and it repeats.
Do you have some type of audio manager? Or audio policy manager?
I would suggest uninstall unnecessary apps to help isolate the problem.
Group on and awesome player make your phone do a lot of work from looking at this log alone. And yahoo mail. Those might not be direct causes but it looks like your phone is processing constantly and dumping apps to get memory back.

I noticed the "Awesome Media Player" entries and was puzzled a bit...I don't use the phone for music and don't see that program listed in my applications or with Titanium Backup. Do you know which program uses AMP, perhaps as a service
I've frozen a number of apps that appear to refer to music or media.
Is there a program you can suggest that shows which apps are most active on my phone...perhaps there are other hidden apps that are using more memory than they are worth
Any you would suggest?
A good indicator could be to look at your battery stats and see what's causing drain. There are probably other tech apps that can tell you. It's also possible you have spyware. Get ome of the spyware/antivirus apps from the market and do a scan. If nothing turns up remove groupon or freeze it. Do you facebook? There was a lot of entries for that. If you do, adjust settings if possible for the frequency of checking for updates.
I use a terminal emulator and run the top command for the top processes running on the phone. That can help.
Also, even though you froze an app there could be an old cached process still. Go to apps in settings and see the cached processes and stop them.
What rom are you currently on? There are memory settings to set the minimum ram free. I use 100mb on the aokp rom.
Task killers aren't recommended for ics but as a test you could use one, run it, hen try to dial your call. If it works better then apps may be the problem. If it doesn't then you may need to do a clean wipe/data factory reset/wipe cache.

" I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM""""
especially the second call right after i finish a call.
sometimes it's actually funny, i dial and i wait for the phone to make the call, i get a call, and after i finish it, THEN my phone makes the call i wanted.
it happens even right after i fully format my phone or reset.
I wish I could remember when it started but I can't, probably sometime in the last 3 months. In the beginning it was very rarely happening but now it is ridiculous. It happens with the default music app (my car automatically grabs the music off my phone via BT when I am near it) and Spotify. It happens if I am connected via Bluetooth, or if I am using an aux cord, or if I am just playing it off my phone, both with and without earbuds. I can't find an external reason for it, the phone can be sitting untouched on my desk and it will just pause the music randomly. I then have to turn on the phone to press the play button to continue listening. Any ideas?
Oh, and my phone is not rooted and I have the lollipop update. Thanks!
If you want you can download this app and start running it while your playing your music it SHOULD capture everything in the system as it is happening: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.infamous.logcat then just copy everything audio releated. You can also search, see by us seeing whats going on in the system we can better determine it. Who knows maybe you have found a new bug in the lg software :good:

Thank you! I am downloading it now!
Do you have the log? You may want to just uninstall the Google app it may end up fixing your problem.

Sorry, I just now checked back. I have been using the log, but am not familiar with it and I have no clue how to use it. I have recorded/saved logs but I don't know how to access them to even look at them and I haven't had time to read up on how to use it. My fault for dropping the ball. As soon as I can find the logs on my phone I will post something. Thank you for following up with me.
Well I have made logs and I can't see anything on them at all pertaining to the music pausing. The program is extremely slow when I try to 'record'. The last time took 8 minutes just to load the recorder. I tried to export the log to post but after 15 minutes of the program "compiling', I gave up. The problem is extremely frustrating as some days I can run for 30+ minutes with no problems and then all of a sudden every few minutes/seconds the music pauses, which of course then interrupts my run (I'm training for a half marathon and this is stressing me out, lol!). Same goes for in my car; everything is fine and then boom! it's just pause, pause, pause, pause, over and over. I am at a loss.
Anyway, I'm just going to wipe the phone and start over, one app at a time. Maybe something weird is somehow conflicting.
Thanks for trying to help!
Well, just following up in case anyone comes across this same problem and stumbles upon my post.
Before wiping my phone I started making backups of my stuff, I had also done as much possible searching to see if anyone else was having this issue. Well, when I got to my Fitbit app, I remembered that some people had issues (not identical, but sort of similar) with their Android activity trackers and their phone, which made me wonder if I was having the issue too. I have been using the Fitbit app with a Fitbit One with no problems. In January I upgraded to the Fitbit Charge, which uses the same app, BUT the Charge also connects to the phone through the app via Bluetooth so that phone calls will show up on the Charge display. Anyway, I uninstalled the Fitbit app and I have not had the issue since then. So I am guessing there is something with the app, the Charge, and the phone not working together.

Hi Everyone,
I've searched around here before making this new thread, but the results i found didnt correspond to the SGN2 (sch i605). Therefore, im just a bit curious about the response time opening apps and whenever accessing system settings etc. For example, whenever i want to access my system settings, it takes about 3 seconds to open. Also, it takes about 3.5 seconds for many other apps to open (like email, Gmail, contacts, etc). Now, im pretty sure this is not normal for a note 2. Just fyi, Im on the N3bula 3 MJ9, with stock kernel. So, apart from this issue, everything else is working great. Please let me know if im just paranoid!! Otherwise, if anyone feels its not normal, then some assistance would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Ok, after searching and searching for a couple of hours, i figured out what the problem was. Strangely, it was the "Power Saving Mode" feature. I read (on a thread) that the GN2 doesnt need that feature turned on, because the battery life is good without it. So i decided to switch "OFF" ... and to my amazement, i saw a difference in the response times when opening my apps! To be honest, i didnt think that switching off power saving mode would solve my problem. I just did it ... This is the thread where i read it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37601229&postcount=6. Thanks a lot shawnx1 :good:
Well, hopefully, this thread will help someone else with this issue. Good luck.
By the way, just wanna say that my response times (when opening apps and settings, etc) have now reduced to an average of 1 second!! So my next experiment is to see the difference in battery life with "Power Saving Mode" switched OFF!! I'll report back tomorrow with the result.
Battery Life Improved WITHOUT Powersave ...
Heres my outcome when comparing battery life WITHOUT the powersave feature ... and all i can say is, its improved! (See screenshot). Therefore, not only did the response times improve, the battery life improved too .. and both of these improvements were made because i followed advice to switch off "Powersave" ... so Thanks again shawnx1
Good evening my friends of XDA. It has been a long time since I have been on here, school has taken up a lot of time sadly. My Girlfriend has gotten the Galaxy S6 Edge and has come to me with a question that I cannot figure out on my own. Well her phone is off, she was wondering if their was a way for the screen to wake up whenever she gets a text message and she wanted to be presented with a preview of whatever text message she receives, instead of having to turn the screen on and seeing she got a text message but only seeing the name of the person. I ran her through the typical procedures, going through the application settings, the general settings, but for some reason it isn't working. I tried having her download and application called Glimpse Notifications, which worked for me, but still hasn't worked for her. I'm unsure on what the issue is, and how to resolve it. I've been out of the XDA Game for awhile, so I think I am a little rusty lol Any help you guys could offer would be amazing, and I would be very grateful for it!
