I was foolishly trying to do the hack for webtop over HDMI, and most likely messed up the files in ADB for the entertainment center.. now when I plug in the phone to the TV via the included HDMI, it won't even show the option to launch entertainment center. If anyone could help me, it would be VERY appreciated!
did you backup the files you replaced? Did you take notice of what you were doing and which files? If so just replace those off the DUMP from the SBFs.. if not then titanium backup, flash the SBF, adn start over.
Well I dont even think the files got replaced, cuz the command window kept saying it couldn't find files to even replace them with. I unrooted the phone, thinking that would solve my issue.
Did you try the steps in the thread to "undo" the webtop mod? If so, best bet at this point is just SBF back..
Those won't work for me. :/ and could you please help me with flashing the SBF? Would that fix my problem? I really dont want to mess up this phone.

thats the guide to flash the SBF... i jsut gave another guy hell for not searching- consider yourself lucky lol. By flashign the SBF it will take you back to "retail" load. Make sure you phone is charged before starting as it takes about 20ish minutes or so to complete and doesnt charge during the time its doign the business

Yeah, you're gonna want the 1.2.6
But I do suggest that you install GingerBlur actually and have the hack readily available without having to do much yourself, and also be able to do the HDMI Mirroring. Unless you want to keep the look of motoblur (blech).
Hm... I'll have to think about it.. My phones about dead, so I have time to decide. I honestly like Motoblur and would prefer to keep it.. But I want the Webtop hack to work so bad, but I can't get it to work :/ ugh

We unfortunately have far 2 littl comprehension of phones attributes 2b in such a forum let alon probabl 2 own fon smarter than us...did find the atrix setups esp the video version rather crafty,did great work on those...only a fon here & barely using its features....if n e 1 is bored n e time and has time, what is rooting and how can we know if some1 has done such a thing 2 our fon without our knowledge or consent? Not obligatd 2 answer. Sorry 4 intruding. Hav purchasd several apps and occasion 2 seek out devs various pts, mayb this how routed here? The app was discovered on the fon called HD entertainment ctr....thinking it only activ8s, or needs 2, once hooked 2 larger screen...have not found info on this. it is not somethg we may even use, just wondering...probably a forum 4 such things ptecisely, cant find 1.

Same Issue - Help Needed
My phone has the same issue as well. When I plug in my phone into my TV, all that shows is the Motorola symbol. It does not launch the entertainment center menu. Is there a way to fix or download an app to fix?
FYI, I'm not a developer. I came across this from a google search so I wouldn't know how to do any install, reboot, etc. As well, I bought this from another person who was an app developer. I'm assuming it's been rooted and I'm assuming that's why the entertainmnet center menu won't launch. Thank you in advance for your time and help!
so after a long year well almost a year with my x10 (flashing roms, rooting and updating, executing shell commands, overriding atts tight leash on their phones/network, optimizing the phone to its fullest, you know the good ol' times) I have managed to brick the damn phone.. or have the screen burn out on me lmao [which is false, due to the following: no charging, no led, and nothing could fix it. (e.g seus pc compan, flashtool; all versions, lol, windows nt .bat scripts, and countless, seriously, countless hours of researching and diagnosing what the problem could be.. it even spit out the rsa key in debug mode if im not mistaken.. my damn phone would not accept the loader.. the bat cmd would force it in but just to flash the loader took over night and then the phone would even die completely.. anways do you guys have any idea what it could of been even though it doesn't matter anymore.. its in multiple pieces underground.. I thought a proper burial was nessecary for my one true and faithful love lmao.. anyways I got the flipside and ****ing managed to brick it in two weeks.. eh.. after the 2.2 update for the pos came out and then update of my phone was done the same day.. they tell you theres no way to root it I decide to switch back to 2.1... thennnnnnnnnn you get to figure out you can't switch back to 2.1 after the update (go figure) then you go back online and then notice they are telling you this a little late.. so I tried everything once again with it to debrick it the battery runs out finally and I give up.. thennnnn about 2 weeks ago they give you the way to fix your damn phone and now Ihave no battery to fix the P.O.S so I charge it over night.. I flash the bootloader as suggested and then the rom.. and yet notenough battery..I guess im **** outta luck.. anyways any suggestion on which phone to get next? which phone would you get? I was thinking a tablet.. butttttt I think I wouldn't see daylight for awhile after getting a tablet.. lol

I am having a hell of a time figuring out what to do with the one click permanent root. I've read the temp roots directions and followed them to the letter but i can't seem to get the perm root to do anything. I've downloaded the zip, unzipped it. plugged my phone in, made sure usb debugging and charge only mode. Click on the oneclick batch file, it says press any key to continue so i do, it says waiting on device and wont do anything.... any help would be appreciated

Just one thought for folks who come looking for a solution and find this thread - make sure HTC Sync isn't running on your computer. I used 1ClickRoot last night after unlocking, and it wouldn't work until I remembered that I hadn't killed HTC Sync.
Not For Long!!!! I could make' a million dollars showing people how NOT to do things.... 30 hours in and not even close to root... hadn't..... the bootloader laughin at my ass at this point.....Think I may exercise the 14 day return policy on this one folks but in the meantime Im dying to try out this Vanilla Rootbox Rom.... so any advice would be greatly appreciated .... I've tried pretty much and just cant get the drivers on this tab... I even hacked the tab with a jailbreak script that works on letting non windows apps exe from the desktop. cant disable driver sig. requirements in
my advanced boot settings for some screwed up reason.... just too much cant do this ... cant do that popping up on this $599 delight for all that.... I have rights!!!!! just kidding ....

i recently bought a kindle fire hd 6" it's adorable!! (sorry for the tech girly squeal there). SUPER CHEAP!! couldn't resist..
here's my problem. i want to root it. limited memory, with a metric butt ton of bs things i neither need nor want on it.
hence rooting. the problem is, my windoze machine, *sigh* the drivers are giving me fits!! i researched the driver issue.. got the ADB driver working..and it SEE'S the blessed thing, but it won't show up in my file explorer to be able to USE the bloody fire!.. now ain't that some insane troll logic?!!
i am stumped..
i TRIED with my linux mint machine..what little i did find? didn't work..i'm highly irritated with this.
any ideas?
oh an the mtp driver? says, when i tried to update it, there's some thing invalid in it..which won't let me update..GRRR

Nevermind! i figured it out!
it had been saying WHEN i tried to update the MTP device driver "encountered error" "a service installation section of this INF is invalid"
somehow...someway, while wandering the many files and goodies in windoze, i got to an mtp driver area for something else..(nope, no clue) uninstalled it from the device area and reloaded it from the other area and it works..
now the kindle shows up as "FIRE" , has a window with the internal memory and everything.
*throws hands up in the air" ya got me man.
i always learn more by screwing up n getting angry..along the lines of "Fudge that! i paid good money for this tech toy and by the GODS it WILL do what i WANT it to do!!"
yeah that actually works.
so for anyone that read this, thanks!
PS: not sure if i should try the ADB driver or not..for some reason, the download, when i tried it always said it failed. gotta keep on keepin on!
