Zagg InvisiShield Issues - Touchscreen not Responding - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Accessories

Hi All,
Any recommendations on how to fix an issue where after about 24 hours of application of a Zagg InvisiShield, my touchscreen stops responding...
If I take the protector off the screen works fine. I have already attempted to install a second screen and the same thing happened about 24 hours after application...
I submitted the question to Zagg but figured I'd try here too and see if anyone has any suggestions.
Thanks!
Curtis

Perhaps there are certain areas around the screen where pressure is put, where the screen is being pressured upon two points....?? I know it happened with the Kaiser....

Strange....I had a Fuze & now the TP2 and both had zagg...never an issue.
24 hours should be enough for the application liquid to dry. Did you get it aligned on the screen? Pushing on the bottom row of buttons?

Same problem here, though I don't recall who makes my screen protector. Worked fine for months, then totally unresponsive screen after I took it off, washed & tried it, reapplied. Stayed unresponsive even after taking it back of, for close to a day.
Tried putting it half-way on, and half of the screen wouldn't respond. Damn strange. Couldn't find anyone else with the same issue until I saw your post!

well I removed the protector again and the screen still didn't work. I founf a hot-spot in the screen where the person who applied the protector got too much liquid on the screen and it soaked into the cracks. I have a new phone coming from Verizon and it should be here in a day or two. I also have a new protector coming from Zagg soon so I'll be able to put it on more carefully myself this time.
Nothing against Zagg or their products, but I won't recommend the store employees at the Mall of America anymore.

Screen troubles.

Hurricane Irene kicked my ass hard. I had to evacuate to a shelter and when I realized I forgot my tab it was too late.
I came back to find it on the floor, under a fallen bookcase. So naturally, I freaked and turned it on. There's a weird sort of almost rainbow fractal pattern on the screen. When you turn the screen on it looks fine, and looking at it at an angle I think the pattern is on the glass, not the display. There are also some minor scratches on the glass.
I'm like, two days over Best Buy's two-week grace period. Should I still unroot and try to return it?

[Q] Screen scratched!!

I've had my Prime for two days, my protector has not come in yet and I just noticed a deep vertical scratch right in the center of my screen. I have no idea how it happened, but it was not there an hour ago.
Is there anything I can do?

Not really. The screen protector may hide the blemish once it is applied. Usually wet application protectors do the best at that.
You could send it back to Asus but you'll have to cough up some cash for the screen replacement.
I thought it was near impossible to scratch Gorilla Glass?
The timing of this thread is impeccable.
I've concluded that the gorilla glass on my TFP is like butter compared to my Droid X. I've already induced several DEEP scratches on my TFP, and my droid x is nearly spotless after 1.5 years of ownership.
I had originally dismissed a screen protector as unneccesary, however tonight i have applied a skinomi one that came with my carbon fiber skin as i don't have much faith in this screen.

I was amazed that this happened too. I thought I could last a few days until my protector came in. I even went as far as taking my keys to my screen on the corner after I made my original post to see what was up. NOTHING. Not a single scratch.
I have no idea how this happened or what caused it.
Did putting on the screen protector hide the scratches?
keys won't scratch glass. All those key tests mean nothing. the chemical composition of keys (brass 99% of the time) is not hard enough to scratch glass. You might as well rub a marshmallow on your screen.

Well at least there is something good to come from the faulty wifi and gps. Just exchange it from wherever you bought it and tell them that the gps isn't working right.

lol, was thinking the samething
Anyone ever try the banana peel trick to resolve scratches as shown on YouTube? Lol
The screen on my TF101 scratched really easy. Fortunately about a week after this first happened something started peeling up between the screen layers. I returned it to ASUS for the peeling issue and it came back with a new screen. Sold the device straight away because I thought I wanted the TF201. Cancelled that order once the GPS issue became apparent.
My Prime came out-of-the-box with a couple of scratches on the screen. I have considered returning it, but have eventually decided that they're not noticeable unless in the correct light, and because I'm otherwise happy with my device, I don't want to risk exchanging it for one that has dead pixels/backlight bleed/no haptic feedback.
There are a number of ways to remove scratches from glass or CDs. I've tried this method and it does work, although I can't say how well it will wear on a touch surface.
If you use this in conjunction with a screen protector, suggest a "dry" protector as opposed to the wet-apply type.

This is for plastic, not glass.
After watching a few vids on egg and alum, this might actually work. As far as I can tell there are no abrasives, so it must "fill" the scratches. If that's the case, it should work on glass all the same.
I went ahead and got an RMA for the until for the GPS issue. It has never worked with any combination of wifi/bt on/off.... and I'm not talking about locking, it doesn't even see any satellites. When calling they suggested I just return it, but I like it and don't want to wait 3+ months for a new one.
I will try the egg white trick before sending it in and report back.
Hopefully they will just give me a new unit.
Even though my phone doesn't have Gorilla Glass, this was posted in our forum as a fix for scratches on this type of glass. Apparently it works. You might want to try it out.
Fix here

Realook Screen Protector interferes with proximity sensor...

I bought the Realook screen protectors for my Rezound after seeing them highly recommended online. I had a lot of problems getting it to fit exactly right which was frustrating, but finally placed it properly.
My phone has been working perfectly for the last two months but lately it's been exhibiting very strange behavior whenever I make phone calls. The screen shuts off right away and won't come back on until you press the power button, then it shuts right back off. Sometimes the screen stays off even after the phone call disconnects, and the only way to get the screen to turn back on is plug it in or pull the battery. Super frustrating.
I factory reset my stock, unrooted phone but it was still having the exact same problem. I downloaded AndroSensor to check out my sensor operation and noticed the proximity sensor was all screwed up. Finally it dawned on me - this started happening as soon as I installed my new screen protector, which just so happens to cover up the proximity sensor. I pulled it off and everything works perfectly again. I can't be the only person who's had this issue? Just wanted to make sure I posted this online for others to find if they are having any similar issues.
All things considered between the installation difficulties and proximity sensor interference I am quite disappointed with the Realook and will be requesting a refund. Because of how big this protector is, I see no way to install it that does not cover up the sensor.
Knock on wood, i do not have that issue at all with my realook protector. It is not affecting the sensor or front camera, both of which are covered.

Just installed my realook about 15 minutes ago. Hope I don't have this problem. It wouldn't surprise me though. I had the same proximity sensor problem with a bestskinsever protector on my droid1.
I have had this problem with my realook also. I did all the troubleshooting too, first i found out my sensor was dirty, but that's another story. Then i found out that my realook protector was definitely causing problems. It sucks that they don't have the cutouts for the proximity sensor, because in my opinion, they are such an AMAZING product. They rarely get scratches and they have a real nice surface texture. What i did was take a new protector and use a hole punch to pop out the spot where the proximity sensor is and then install it. However, since it's not as clean of a cut as a machine could give it, it started lifting.
So after some researching online, i've decided not to use any screen protectors at all. The way i see it is that the screen protectors run about $12-$15. But an entire new glass screen, digitizer, screw driver, and torx wrench cost me $35 shipped. If you're worried about warranty, obviously go with the screen protector, but with the quality of refurbs that verizon is putting out right now, i've been warned to keep my original phone at all costs unless something catastrophic happens to it. And even so, there's ebay and craigslist
I have that problem and don't even have a screen protector.

Get a can of compressed air and spray in the speaker grille above the sensor. Get any lint off the grille too

I don't have the problem, and I've had this one realook screen protector on for quite a few months.

My wife's realook hasn't caused any problems since february, but mine on the other hand causes non stop problems
Sent from my rezound using tapatalk because the current xda premium app sucks!
I also have a Realook but to contrast I have had no such issues, of course the installation was the biggest fuss and ultimately I wasted one of the two I had and my brother redid the second one that was crooked.
I'll add that Realook had very prompt customer support and offered to send replacements at no charge because I must have received a bad batch. They were going to check with their supplier to ensure the correct materials were being used consistently which should not interfere with the sensors.
I opted to just take a refund since I already bought some cheapo Verizon protectors and get those installed. Don't want to deal with the head ache of another Realook installation and I still question the design of covering up the sensors.
I use Wave Control alot in the car which relies heavily on the proximity sensor and I have had no problems with the realook screen protector installed.

Is my screen broken?

These past few days, I've been noticing unresponsiveness to touch in a certain part of my screen. This screenshot shows what I mean. I never lifted my finger while drawing, and I swiped up and down continuously. The middle band of unmarked screen seems to be failing and only works when pressed harder. Am I going to have to get it repaired? I'm tempted to use this as an excuse to jump to the G4 when it comes out but I'd rather get this fixed if there's any way I can do it

I recently broke my screen glass and digitizer. I had a region that was vertically oriented that didn't work over the rest of the screen. It is possible that the digitizer or maybe connections to the digitizer are broken. I ended up buying a new screen, as it comes with the digitizer and glass. Reading about it sounded like a huge pain to even think about just replacing the digitizer and glass. The new screen was around $70-80 on Amazon. Process was well documented on iFixit and youtube. The only problem I had was that I didn't receive my order of adhesive tape and didn't want to wait. Now I have a 1 inch area that leaks light. I can live with it until I decide it is worth cracking open again to properly seal it up.

Screen sensitivity, Returning mine

Hi
I got the V30 almost 2 weeks ago and the sensitivity is horrible, i have to press most apps or buttons 3 to 4 times before it responds. I thought it might have been my glass screen protector so i removed this and its still the same. Anyone else had this or heard of this?
Nope. Pretty responsive. Think most reviews say the same.
Mine is fine. My V30 and now V30+ seem to work fine.
Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk Pro.
Yes mine is doing it with small items online with websites and in most apps k use even with Gboard sometimes
There was sensitivity issue in past LG phones too. I hope that doesn't make an appearance here.
I returned mine today, got a replacement , So far so good on the new one, Mine would do it on large parts of the screen, I ran an app showing screen touches and on some parts of the screen i had to tap it hard for it to register which isnt right!
Glad it was resolved thru exchange.
I've only experienced a few instances of my V30 not registering my finger press, when tapping an "accept" button or some similar circumstance, maybe just 3 or 4 times. Could have been a browser / app issue -- the issue doesn't repeat, and the norm is the lightest brush of my finger against the screen is all it takes.

Yes , no questions asked , they just swapped it outright. The sales guy did take it off me and try , I watched him try and press the home button about 5 times without success lol. Hopefully just a bad handset and nobody else gets this.
Mine worked great until I put a glass screen protector on it. Now I am having the issues you mentioned. Isn't there a way to recalibrate the touch screen sensitivity?
The occurrence with screen protectors, specially tempered glass protectors, is pretty common with these new curved phone screens because the glass has adhesive on the edges only, and the screen protector does not transmit positive contact to the phone screen on a consistent basis. The solution seems to be to use a protector with full screen adhesive, (LOCA), but it does need to be cured. Additionally, this method prevents another nuisance... the constant intrusion of dust and lint between the phone screen and the screen protector.

Very common with the glass screen protectors. Lots of information in the accessories forum.
Seems to be a quality control issue with lg. When i first bought my phone from a Sprint store, I noticed the same issues you mentioned. Had a spot on the screen that would only respond to short touches. If you moved an app to a certain spot on the home screen you couldn't move it, only open it. Exchanged it the next day in store. The replacement device works great with no issues but upon opening the box i noticed black plastic shavings underneath the plastic screen protector that wraps around the phone.
