Hi all, I bought Toshiba TG01. As Xperia X10 has a qualcomm processor 1ghz. I love the interface of xperia...A similar rom with this interface for TG01, is possible?
Thanks, Michele
possible

The fact is that no rom from any device will work on any other device than for that which is was intended. The only way would be to dump the rom and use a TG kitchen to rebuild it with the TGs OEM/Drivers. Only problem is you would probably loose the X10 interface as i imagine that its part of the X10s OEM. And all of this is before we even think about the XIP, maybe if you were lucky the verson of winmo would match one of noksers, ffboys or novembre5s and you could use their XIP. This is as far as i know, and i may be wrong but i think i'm right.
So all that can be said really is if you want an X10 rom on a TG01 then happy cooking.
However if you just want the interface, look HERE. I have just installed and tested, seems to work well apart from some misalignment due to the 6.5.5 rom, i asume it would line up with 6.5.0 fine.

it may be a bit hard to port. We may have to convert the screen resolutions.
the tg01 has a wvga resolution (480 by 800)
the Sony ericsson xperia x10 has a fwvga resolution. (854 by 480)

I think the biggest problem is poor memory management of Toshiba driver. X10 ROM can not solve it.
After looking around about this i think the X10 is android.

Hello, I saw a some information on a Norwegian site about the new HTC Dream, with a new processor, the MSM7201A, same as the touch pro.
If so, when somebody dumps a the andriod for the Dream, isn't that fearly "easy" to port, since they have the same processor?
Link to source (translated with google)
"
Proper processing
Like most newer advanced smart phones, Dream has been a processor with high-Clock. 528 MHz processor that provides the type of chipset Qualcomm MSM7201A. This is the same chipset that's in the HTC Touch Pro and Touch HD. ADP1 has 192 MB of memory available to the user.

Even though it has the same processor, the hardware is still different, so while it's fairly easy, you still need to have that in mind when trying to port/make drivers work.

Not that I'm aware of...
You have two different CPU's and two different GPU's on two different handhelds:
Hero:
CPU: Qualcomm MSM7200A
GPU: Adreno 130
Legend:
CPU: Qualcomm MSM7227
GPU: Adreno 200
So it will be extremely difficult to change one of those. It's not like you're trying to upgrade your computer or something...
But probably it's possible....but if I change hole chip with CPU and so on??? Or it's impossible?

My guess: it's impossible.
I know that this isn't a Q&A Forum, but we don't have any, we only have a post that no ones answer, i know too that this question is anwered so many times before but the answer i got was like "is normal", "an article from Xperia phones that explain some of that", but i still don't get it. System always get an amount of RAM needed for the correct working of all stuff. But why in other phones (even with the same chipset) that doesn't happen? And why we can't see where and how the left memory is been used by system? Normally i've seen before how RAM is reduced to share it with GPU, but in ICS our GPU looks worst than on GB so RAM definetely isn't on the GPU, so is good that all of us reach the point of this, i get some screens from other devices and i will posting this in a little bit time. Its ok.....i have also read similar thing in xperia topic. But i just want to ask , why does this not happened in the non G version. If it was reserved by kernel for graphics and gpu use then why the graphics performance have become worse in ics....???? Oh yes it has same as our..... but it has a better display of 720p res. So what does it mean...??? The cpu has to work more on the extra pixels . And the thing that ram is reserved for graphics sounds correct here because more pixels more load on gpu and ram. But did u noticed the same processor and ram having moto razar hav nearly 800mb available ram. I just can not understand why the G version has been locked with ram and not the nonG version , still while launching the G version Samsung said that both devices are similar in performance. But we all know about it , nothing to say here.
And the most important thing is that Motorola Atrix2 is available @22.5k which have everything same except display, and also gnexus in some places @24 k yet it have more powerful cpu and higher resolution. . ...and what we r paying for i9100g........27.5k . Samsung is only cheating Indian users, even they have not specified on the boxes whether it is G version ( saw many issues like that on google ).

Man u r wrong we can win against samsung . They are cheating us Under Consumer Act 1987 . So we can.....either they refund our money or replace with the original one. And also Samsung has to pay for the mental hrassment that we suffered.
What if I told you the 680mb ram is just a display error across the device.
Have you ever exceeded using 680mb ram on the phone?

I regret buying this phone, if you ask me, not because is Samsung, just because it's Android. I really don't understand the logic behind a mobile OS that uses lots of RAM in a device that obviously does not have great battery. I had at the time an iPhone 4S and my SGSII simultaneously, so I got the chance to test them in RL. Even iPhone having a less efficient display (LCD vs AMOLED) and a smaller battery than the one on the SGSII, in actual daily use, iPhone seems to handle its RAM way better than any Android I have tested. The problem in many Android IMO is when in idle, still consuming a lot of RAM that greatly affects battery.

so u think more free ram is better ? its maybe right in ios but its not in android. ram is born to be used.
Dont think ram consuming cause battery drain.

Straight answer below.
Scenario: An Xperia™ Phone.
"Now, let’s look at how the RAM is used. Out of our 512MB RAM, about a third is used for functions that require a dedicated memory slot to operate fast enough. For example, this is the case for certain multimedia functions. The remaining space, which is at least 340MB, is reserved for the Linux user space, as required in the Android Compatibility Definition Document (CDD). Within the Linux user space, functions like the activity manager and Home screen app are running." (Sonymobile, 2012).
Picture illustration as follows:
This partitioning more or less applies to all other manufacturers' devices, thus explains why the promised 1GB in our device is not entirely visible to us.
As to why different phones with the same chipset has different amounts of RAMs (i.e. Samsung SGS2 VS Motorola Droid Razr & that Razr appears to have more usable RAM), it simply goes back to the reason:
Samsung SGS2 consists of more system functions thus uses more more RAM than compared to that of Motorola Droid Razr.

Hello Everyone
Sorry if this was posted before, but I'm planning on switching from Xperia Arc S to Xperia P
I was reading through online reports / reviews from here, CNET, Sony's official website.
and I'm kinda confused, I know it's for sure better than the Arc S but I was wondering is it really worth upgrading?!
The main reason for me to upgrade is to avoid the lags / freezes I'm getting on ICS even after removing bloatwares, adding build.prop values and running init.d scripts (unless there is something else I'm missing).
So what do you think guys is it worth the upgrade?! Are there any stupid lags or are the Dual-core CPU and 1GB RAM doing their job?!
Also is Sony WhiteMagic technology really helping users to see under strong light? I can barely see my Arc S screen when I'm not under a roof !!
What about GPU?! I read a while back that Adreno 205 (which is included in the Arc S) is better than Mali-400MP unless that fact is changed
Thanks in advance

Adreno 205 is way weaker than Mali-400. The fact that Galaxy S3 uses Mali-400 is enough. Adreno 220 or 225 could match Mali-400, but Adreno 205 can't.

I'm sorry for all the questions but I still have more
I read here that unlocking the bootloader is not really recommended for Xperia P?
Well I did that for my Arc S so I can flash custom kernels and always be rooted, I can't stay without root or else I wouldn't be able to test a single thing of Droid Manager :-/
Or else I wouldn't care about rooting the phone since I don't flash themes nor mods, I like the OS the way it is
I go to Xperia P from Xperia Neo. Xperia P is fast enought and not need for custom ROMs! In games Xperia p is faster as Xperia Neo with overclocked CPU up to 1,8 ghz, for example, Dead space on Neo lag in scenes with monsters, but on Xperia P whole game go smooth!

Well I don't really care about overclocking since I rarely overclock my Arc S, besides, it's a dual core CPU for a smart phone OS I don't think there will be a need for overclocking taking in consideration that I only play Temple Run, Unblock me when I'm board . I was just somewhat afraid from not finding it's performance smooth enough, but after all the feedbacks I got I think I'm gonna head for one in the next couple of days
it has good performance for a phone, it's beautiful, and with official ICS you have extended standby mode that can make your phone live some more days, I mean with "normal" phone use you can stay up to 2days more, so you charge it every 3 days, maybe 4 if you don't use it, that's quite good, IMO it's the perfect phone because of the price and it's 4' screen (above it's too large for me)
About the whitemagic tech, it's really good. Even when the sun shines on the screen I can see it. And not only barely see it like with the iphone 4 or the x10, it is really bright! I would dare to say that it's the brightest screen on the market for now. Else the phone is really smooth, does not lag, only right after boot for me, cuz I added a huge load of widgets. I scroll once through the homescreens and it's gone
That's exactly what I needed to know
Thanks guys for your feedbacks
