I've used Villain Rom and wasn't happy so i got back to my rooted 1.5 stock. For me the only thing which i want is app2sd in a stock rom. And Villain isn't doing it, also default OC isn't good for the battery life

And what has that got to do with their new Froyo ROM?
ah damn, i should've opened the link Sorry
The question is, if he can get this alone working... at the beginning there was this thread where many devs started to work together and now... i mean you can build a house faster with 20 people rather beeing alone
There it also looks like it has slowed down a bit... but well hopefully they get it working

Install SetCPU and lower your max. It will buy you a tiny bit more battery life, in theory, if that is what you are after.

I have SetCpu already, and with all the profiles and changes in advance settings, I get incredible battery life, compared to other eris, rooted and un-rooted. I just want to prolong it even more. and from what i hear, the under volting would help in doing that alot. Plus, no reason heros should have it and not us
i wouldnt try it...

I think he was referring to trying a hero kernel on an eris, not undervolting the eris.
The reason we dont have such features is nobody has gone in and done it. The Hero has more market penetration, so there will be more users/developers by nature.
The source for the kernel is out there, we just need someone with the knowledge and the know how to do it and post it.
Im too busy atm to think about it, got to move + work + vacation + alot of other stuff, but its an idea i have pondered, but honestly i have never compiled a kernel, and lack the time for awhile into the future to even research it.
It definitely would be cool though

I take it you have not looked in the Android Development section and seen all the Froyo ROMs for the Eris.
We have froyo roms... we dont' have froyo compatible kernels, our kernels from 2.1 will work but only with tons of workarounds to fix the roms. It's very different...
It's hard to discuss and get answers from the dev forum so I wanted to get a clear picture of what you guys think of these rom.
GingerReal or Coderom?
GingerReal because it seems faster. Coderom for me has space issues. Have 30mb left in that rom after installing my usual apps.

Hey!
LOL, you must try them by your self. They BOTH good enough. You know some ppl like little things(theme and so on), others like speed, the third ones like smoothness, then stability and so on. Just let it try! Try one in one day. If you set it up and all working, do nandroid backup and try another one. If you dont like it, you can do NANDROID restore and all fine.
Its not just like this, this one better than other(IMO).
CHEERS!

Hey!
Internal memory.
CHEERS!
Well i'm using coderom right now, with a2sd so... internal memory is not very important now ahaha I tried gingerReal but it gave me some problemas, so i'm back to coderom again, and i'm happy with it, satisfied (not saying it's better, I mean, if you find any rom which is nice to your needs by now, why would you change to another rom which you can't see any BIG difference by now? )
They are both great anyways.

Same thing happened here. If you don't know a little bit of spanish that could be a problem. Lucky me I know
When flashed the rom again, in the spanish cwm, it worked fine.
The rom is awesome. So far, the best i've tried.

My partner is from lisbon, so I know some Portuguese and spanish is not much different, so I got the jist of what to do.
But maybe that is what was wrong, needed to re-flash it in the spanish cwm... would that be correct?

Probably not. Don't know if i did something wrong the first time i flashed. But if you had the same issue, i think it is a bug that must be fixed.

ALPHA builds are inherently unstable. Unless, of course, you have to wonderful cyanogenmod team behind it.
Things won't work right, be broken, random reboots, etc... Until they all get worked through in later releases.
However, I would recommend doing a full wipe (data, cache, dalvik) and reflash.
thanks for info, ill see if that fixes it, but i think i'll just stick CM7, don't need 3D anyway

Yeah i just flash ROMs and see how they benefit me, and as it relates to MIUI, i hate it. way too simple, reminds me too much like the IPhone, which is as disappointing as it gets
So I'm new at this and need some help.
I flashed MIUI today, and at first it worked great but then after changing around the theme and lock screens it starts to give a "failed to load preview", or "unable to connect to network" notification at the bottom. I would appreciate any ideas because I REALLY liked MIUI's setup.

hahaha you consider a preview kernel, with limited features/functionality and some bugs, to be the best kernel available to the vibrant?? or is it only the best because that's what you have?
i couldnt even mount my sd to my computer on that kernel.
im not trashing the dev by any means, thats why he called it a "preview kernel". but to come onto a thread and call it the best available is ignorant, and can be very misleading to inexperienced users.
Honestly , you should try it, It work so good, Speed is great! , No lag, Battery life is awsome., the only problem, the games open but for some reason close,/

So far battery life is ok for me, less than stock passion but thats expected for a preview. I am finding Live OC incredible, set clock speeds on the fly.
But overall Topshelf is right, its a PREVIEW, with more features and fixes to come, so its not best kernel as of right now, but imo soon
