Toggle Vibration EXE - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'd like to set my Long Press ENDKEY to toggle vibrate on\off. I know I can replace the default action screen by replacing the file EndKeyLNK in the Windows folder, but I need a link to point to the Vibrate EXE toggle file.
I don't know where to find or how to create an executable toggle for vibrate.
Anyone have this or know a work around?
I have found a tip in a different forum pointing me to a registry folder for End Key Long Press, but nothing to do with vibrate toggle. Anyone have an entry I can create?
Thanks.

Open task manager quickly??

Is anybody know how to open s740 task manager with one button??
Just like S60.
Open task manager in S740 is a little complicated...
Long Press send button can active Voice Commander. But I never use this function. Is possible to modify this button to task manager??
Thanks
Top button on the S740 will give you access to a menu, and on #3 is Task Manager.
Or on HTC Home Up/Left/Enter.

LongPressButtons
I think that I might just have the idea that could help you. I made it for Wifi switch ON/OFF because I use it a lot...
The Camera button is only mapped for Short Press. You can easily remap the Long Press Camera Button. (Camera is still working in Short Press Mode)
You can easily remap hardware buttons by creating the follow shortcuts (.lnk) in the \Windows\ directory.
Long_Camera.lnk
Your Shortcut should lead to the Taskmanager in /windows/taskmgr.exe
(or an other Taskmanager, as you wish)
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Windows_Mobile_6_Standard
Switch your phone off & on once you have created the shortcut. After that I should be working.
Hope that helps.
I will be using this. Thanks!
I recently linked the Taskmanager to the Short_Power.lnk
Now I'm very happy with that (very very fast access!!!)
Turning of the phone still works with longpress the powerbutten and I use only 2 Profiles (Normal, Vibrate) and switch between them with longpress #-Button.
To lock longpress "HANGUP"-Button.

Remapping hardware keys

I was looking a way to remap the camera key to Toshiba settings through registry without having other progs like AEbutton Plus (which is not free btw) or other software running on the back. Found an article here, this method probably applies to all keys.
Made a shortcut of \Windows\settings.exe (shows only in totalcommander cause it's hidden) and put it in \Windows\AppButtons\settings.lnk (the folder probably doesn't mean anything).
In HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys you'll find 6 folders 40C1-6. Those correspond to the hardware buttons.
Camera key is the 40C3 folder. I didn't care to find which folder is vol up/down etc. but don't think many people will want to change the volume keys. The article explains some of the folder's contents:
1 HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C3", (Default)
set it to point to the location of the program you want to start.
(e.g. \Windows\AppButoons\settings.lnk for my purpose)
2 HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C3", "Flags"
set this to 0
3 HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C3", "Name"
the name of this button, this is what you will see in Settings\Buttons
4 HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Keys\40C3", "Icon"
set it to point the location of your program again, or any other resource containing an icon (dll, exe file) so you will have a nice icon in the Settings\Buttons window.
That's it you're done. The program you've mapped opens with long press of the camera button. I don't know if and how you can change the short press action, If someone knows or finds out please let us know.
--------------------------
Hmm after posting I found out that when the phone is restarted the string "Flags" resets back to value 4 and the button doesn't launch the mapped app. Any thoughts?
a solution for this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13028244#post13028244
enjoy
work well,thanks

AE Button Plus can do this and is free now, i cannot get camera button to work on it in mirom8 but it definately can remap the soft buttons of the tg01
soft buttons, aebuttons should do it
hard buttons, only registry hacking, which this thread explains
for how to make the registry setting persistent, i gave a solution in a separate thread (check my post above for the link)

[Q] any key droid x2 screen awake

Is there a way to have any hard key unlock the droid x2
I do remember reading about this in the developement section. There's something to change in one of the scripts, but I don't remember exactly where or what it was. Try the search or browse around a bit. It's there.
Sorry I wasn't much help.
If you flash CM7 you can have the home key and volume keys unlock the screen.
Settings--CyanogenMod settings--Input--check the box for "volume rocker wake."
I think "home key wake" might be on by default.

I asked the same question in there. There is a file you can edit that can change the actions of the hard buttons. Just be sure to make a backup of the original file when you do it.
EDIT: Not sure if you have to have a certain amount of posts to see links. So heres a quick summary.
In a file explorer, go to /system/usr/keylayout. Open the tegra-kbc.kl file in a text editor (You have to give read/write permissions to edit and save this file on your phone) and you can change the menu, back, search and volume buttons from WAKE_DROPPED to WAKE. Notice how the home button is the only one set to "WAKE". This will make all the buttons wake from the screen being off like the home button does. Again, backup the file first in case something doesnt work right. Im not responsible if you mess something up. But this should work fine.
When I first did this, I did that to the volume buttons and it worked. So it should work with the other buttons as well.
They won't take until after a reboot. I edited the same file to make my search button open my camera.
Sent from my CM7 DEATHMACHINE!
Thanks everyone
I tried this b4 and did something wrong as the phone went dark and would not turn on. Somehow I got to factory reboot and brought it to VW and they replaced.

[Guide] Replace MENU with Recent Apps on CM12.1

This guide is for the Note 3 Neo and should work on all variants.
If you're looking at this thread then you should have noticed that the Menu key on @FireLord 's CM12.1 is mapped to MENU and you can't change it from Buttons in Settings since it only has Power Button, Recents Button, Volume Button and Home button and no Menu Button.
Of course, there are a bunch of Xposed Modules such as MenuBegone available to do the same but if you'd rather not install anything or if you just like to mess with your phone then this is the guide to follow
So here's what you to do make your Menu key function as a Recent's key.
Download any Root Brower (I'd suggest the one included in Rom Toolbox)
Navigate to /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl
Open the File Generic.kl as a text file
Look for key 139 MENU in the list
Replace MENU with APP_SWITCH
Save and Reboot
Now your Menu key will function as a Recents Key and you'll also be able to change what tapping it and long-pressing it does through Buttons In Settings.
Thanks for the info.
but do you know how to enable vibration on them?

Oh I'm sorry, I'm afraid i don't know about that. All the vibrations are on and it seems only the Soft keys aren't vibrating. I'll fill you in if i do find something out though.

Change behavior of double-press power button?

I know there's a setting, but there are only two options offered: Nothing or Open Camera
I'd love to be able to toggle the flashlight with the power button. Anybody know where the system file is that controls that? Would it be in build.prop?
Now, I know what I'm going to say it's not the solution that you're looking for BUT, I remember that OnePlus X had a default behavior for when you draw a V (I assume it reassembles a light coming our from a flashlight), so I used the same on OP N10. This option is available at Settings > Buttons & Gestures > Quick Gestures > Draw V
You can change this in framework-res.apk and its affiliates, change the integer text and remove impeding files. Cheers
