Sorry if this has been asked before but a search didn't produce any results and the WIKI is down, i'm a newbie. My question is: Can the HTC HD2 receive wireless email messages while the lock screen is on? On my wireless at home it receives OK when the main screen is displayed..but while the phone is "asleep" it doesn't alert me...many thanks for any assistance.

Using you keywords i found a thread at showthread.php?p=5075260#poststop
talking about a script that is activated on startup. This seems to be the most promising. I should work well..

But my phone just cannot run in 2G and 3G. it just simply can do call and sms..
SOS !! HELP !!
Thank u.
Are you talking about data connection? Have you checked your APNs in SETTINGS?
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
i just checked my APNs at settings.. it just blank.. just black screen.. without any options..
what happened?
You need to add your APN settings from your provider. Google them, press the menu key in the APN menu, and add them

Hi Guys,
I've ported one of my apps: eNotify to the Ornate TrueSmart:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hermes.enotifylite
A couple of users have written to request that eNotify turn on the screen when a new email arrives. So that works fine. However, they would also like the screen to be unlocked so that they don't need swipe to dismiss the clock-screen to see the notification.
We have a similar option that works on most Android devices: Settings / "Dismiss Screen Lock"
In code:
Deprecated Way:
KeyguardManager keyguardManager = (KeyguardManager) context.getSystemService(Activity.KEYGUARD_SERVICE);
KeyguardLock lock = keyguardManager.newKeyguardLock(context.KEYGUARD_SERVICE);
lock.disableKeyguard();
Current Way:
getWindow().addFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_DISMISS_KEYGUARD);
BUT it doesn't work on the Ornate TruSmart which leads me to believe this isn't actually a lock screen, but something else. Is there a way to programmatically dismiss this screen?
Best Regards,
Glen

I don't use screen lock on my TS, and your app works fine for me, awaking the screen and presenting the popup notification. One question though: When in silent mode, the vibrate feels like just one small bump, and is barely noticed. Any way to increase the vibrate, or set a pattern? Thanks.

glensantacruz said:
Okay. Thanks for the info. I'm still attempting to track it down. Apparently, removing the lock works on some ROMS, but not others.
You can set the vibration like:
Alerts Tab (!) -> Default Profile -> Default Alert -> Bell Chime -> Vibration
There are baked in vibrations such as:
short, medium, long
But you can also hold your finger down to record one of a custom length.
Please feel free to email me at the support address if you need anything. I'd also welcome any reports of TrueSmart specific issues that need investigating.
Thanks,
Glen

That worked, thanks. So far so good with my TS...
@glensantacruz, eNotifyLite did not function on my device at all. Sadly once I installed the app, google search started to crash constantly. this made my TrueSmart unusable. Once I uninstalled everything worked once again.
I had high hopes for this.
Suggestion. in the setup separate SMS and email configuration. I am not interested in email in my tiny watch screen. I only really want sms, hangouts, Phone calls and basic glance-able alerts to wake my screen. On my phone I might try your app for email.. I looks very interesting and full of features.
I am a bit confused. In order to receive these notifications the ts must be connect through BT to my phone? If that is true how are u getting past the issues with BT connection with a phone

This is not a simple situation but I will attempt to explain my solution:
For SMS
first I have a full service SIM and account for my TS on ATT
next use google voice for my primary number, this involves installing the GV app and configuring it, then getting the GV number socialized..
next I force force sms responce on my phone and my TS to use the GV # with an Xposed plugin called "XVoice+".
For EMAIL / Internet based:
first I have a full service SIM and account for my TS on ATT that is part of a 15gb shared family plan.
The final result is I receive all SMS on both devices. A couple Caveats, GV does not support the short message format so no twitter alerts. depending on the sms source, some messages are more readable on the TS then others.
Unfortunately for me I'm in Canada and lacking Google voice. Thanks for the explanation tho. Omate is doing a ota in a few more weeks fixing the BT issue. I think I will hold off and wait and see how well it works. I've spoken with Le pen and he tells me that the new fix is working very well.
I posted this in the Hyperdrive thread but thought maybe it should go here since my questions aren't all specific to the ROM..
I did some basic searching this weekend and was unable to find a definitive answer to these questions, and the few answers I DID find did not seem to work in my case, so I apologize if this is repetitive.*
-Wireless does not work for me- based on what I read, this is a kernel issue, and in order for this issue to be resolved, I have to use a different one. That being said, the one I tried installed successfully but the wireless still did not work. Does anyone have a suggested kernel that WOULD work and allow me to utilize my wireless? I'm on an AT*T Go plan so I'm burning through my 4g cap faster than I'd like because I cant get the wireless to take.*
-When I try to set a wallpaper, the home wallpaper works fine, but when I select 'lock screen' wallpaper or the combo of both, it freezes and then TouchWiz crashes.*
-And the most FRUSTRATING issue- and this is not ROM specific, I realize... but this phone when I purchased it(used) was used on Verizon. I was able to unlock/etc and get it to work with the AT&T Go network after manually entering the APN settings..however- any time an inbound call comes in, it puts a '+' in front of the number. The end result is none of my contacts names show because my contacts obviously do not have a '+' prefacing their number. I tried using an app called Prefixer and set up a rule for it but that did nothing, and I verified country etc is set correctly..does anyone have any clue why this is happening? Very frustrating.*
Bump...anyone? Am I in the wrong place maybe?

This is about the only thing I do have an answer for... there is an app called Contacts Optimizer that will allow you to do a mass edit and add the leading + if you're interested in doing that... might help with this issue... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.compelson.optimizer
I answered your first two questions in the hyperdrive thread

This Verizon page now shows the G3 supports VoLTE.. Did anybody get an update that enabled it?
http://www.verizonwireless.com/landingpages/advanced-calling-devices/
Hmm, I followed the link and signed in and enabled it on my account . Says the feature will be active today. Guess we will see
Just added it myself.
Advance Calling
I just received the OTA; however, unlike the photos on the Verizon site, my in call screen does not have the colorful buttons and background (it's still white). Also, the Verizon site indicates that if it is installed correctly, a group will appear in your contacts called Advanced Calling. No such group has appeared. In addition, there is now supposed to be a VoLTE option in the mobile networks setting. None appears on mine.

I misread the info. I thought there was something else under the actual network setting. What about the screen design, though. Online photos show this:

Based on what I read when updating it, this only goes into use when both phones in a call have this enabled. Outside of that, functionality remains the same. I know no one with a compatible phone to test this to confirm.
I don't think this is VOLTE.
Advanced Calling and VoLTE are the same thing. It allows you to place calls over the LTE network instead of the CDMA network, plus it also allows for you to make video calls with the other person as long as they are also on VoLTE/Advanced Calling
Can we get the OTA so we can flash via TWRP? Thanks
Hi good people of XDA, Iam facing a serious issue in the Contacts app of my new Google Pixel 6.
When I call somebody and they answer their phone, the call shows as "Private number" in the Recents tab.
If they do not answer, then the contact name is shown normally, as it should.
Take a look at the screenshot here: https://postimg.cc/jL1yT1NX
All items shown as "Private" are calls that I made and they answered.
I've searched online, but i didn't find anything related to this issue. Am i he only one who is facing it?
Any insights could help a lot.

Looks like your carrier is blocking caller ID on outgoing calls or you somehow enabled it on your own. I know with Verizon I can block my number on all calls or on a case by case basis.

Hi bobby, thanks for the reply.
Caller ID is not blocked. The person that receives the call is seeing my number.

Oh I get it now. That's an odd one, I can't seem to find a setting where that would change things.
Maybe an app you have is messing things up. Have you tried making a call while in safe mode?

Explain safe mode please.
When you are on the the Emergency, Lockdown, Power Off... Etc screen, long press on Power Off. It will give you an option to reboot into Safe Mode.
Safe mode disables all of the apps you installed so you can see if it's an app causing the issue.
Just reboot again to get out of safe mode.
Go to settings > apps > all apps, tap on the 3 dots (upper right) and 'Show system' apps. Then try clearing cache and data for:
- dialer (phone app)
- phone storage
- contacts app
- contacts storage
Then reboot.
Not sure if that will help, but does not do any harm, it will resync all your contacs.
Hi all,
Thank you for your replies. I tried both suggestions.
I rebooted in safe mode and tried calling my wife.
The problem persisted.
I tried clearing data and cache for the apps suggested and rebooting the phone.
The problem persisted.
The strange thing while I am calling the phone of the contact is shown in the dialer. As soon as the person I am calling answers the phone their name is replaced and the dialer app shows "Private number" instead.
I am really confused!

Post it on Reddit r/GooglePixel sub. This can't be unique. I'm thinking carrier related but just a shot in the dark at this point.

I'm intrigued. Which carrier? Do you have wifi calling you can try out?
Maybe something in permissions manager?
Hello! We have the same problem. On my wife's phone (Pixel 6), the phone writes private number for outgoing calls. There is no problem with incoming calls. Like Gonik, I tried everything, but nothing helped.
We live in Hungary and our mobile service provider is Telekom.
Carrier: Cablenet
Wifi calling: not supported
My next step is to try a sim card from a different carrier.

Yes, it would be nice to fix it because the error is pretty frustrating. And on top of that, she got the phone from me as a gift.
Omg, I am not alone. So I bought unlocked phone in USA, and I am using it in Serbia (Europe) on mts network. ChrYslerHUN is in neighboring Hungary, so it could be related to usa/europe differences and European carriers.
But still, I have never seen anything like that, and it is quite frustrating. What does outgoing calls have to do with carriers. Your phone. should know which numbers you dialed, right.

I'm having the exact same issue. Not only me, my wife also has a Pixel 6 and is experiencing the same problem. I've searched in Google but only found a couple of posts in Reddit and this one. Has anyone found a solution for this? It's kind of annoying. I'm from Spain.
Happy New Year to Everyone!
In the meantime, I installed another dialer application that can also record calls, so the problem is partially resolved, as it shows the called party properly during recordings. Regardless, it would even be nice to have an official fix for the bug.
The dialer application name is: ACR Phone
ACR Phone - Apps on Google Play
Privacy respecting phone dialer app with SIP and call recording support
