This morning I was watching youtube and had the phone on wifi, router is in my room and the phone would still have issues trying to play vidoes? It acted as if the signal was weak. I guess I feel asleep and woke up the phone being hot? I tried to restart the phone since it froze up...took the battery out when the reset did not work and the phone did not want to start up...tried to plug it in no light...took everything out sim card, sd card and battery and let the phone set for a little bit...turned on after 20 minutes....now the phone has been doing that all day...I'm so annoyed with it...what do you think, it could be?
Mines doing the same thing this morning!!
I'm using the core cell rom.
Can't even get it to boot enough to reflash it..
I'm using the chucky rom now my color is off and ia greenish tint... going to have to do a phone exchange...

ok so up to now the battery life on my phone has been pretty good and i have been impressed but it didnt last....
dont know if this is just a coincidence or not but since doing the 2 updates it seems worse
so anyways, today battery went flat in about 9 hours with very moderate usage. I went to put the phone on charge and noticed that it seemed to be getting quite hot...alarming hot!
I read a few post on here about it and it seems that generally its nothing to worry about ...however....when i went to unplug it after about an hours charging i noticed that the phone was off (it wasent completley flat when i plugged it in) and that the phone was just 'warm' while on charge.
It seems to me that the phone has overheated...got so hot that it turned itself off
My phone is a sim free version, completley standard apart from launcher pro installed and lockscreen widget installed....its not rooted. The phone was also not in a case.
Any ideas

also just noticed when i turned it off and back on again i got a message on the screen saying something like 'the android process has failed' and asking me to 'force close'
so heres the story:
when i lock the phone, the screen turns off as normal. but when i hit the power/home button to wake it and unlock it, nothing happens. literally, nothing happens. its as if the phone has turned itself off.
So whats happened is, I left the phone on the charger last night. it woke perfectly this morning when the alarm went off. no issues there.
I put the phone into my pocket and headed into work. i went to check my phone when i got on the bus and this was the first tme that I noticed that the phone wasnt waking. i eventually pulled the battery to get the phone to restart. i tried it again and the same thing happened.
later I made a phone call. the same thing happened again when i took the phone away from my head (the screen didnt restart, and I couldnt hit the End Call button cause there was none.)
since then, i've figured that to make sure the phone doesnt go to permanent sleep i have to do one of 2 things,
1) keep the phone music player running constantly, or
2) keep the phone connected to the usb charger.
clearly this isnt exactly practical for a mobile.
im not running any other Rom, its still the stock rom, android v 2.3.5, not rooted or anything else?
is this somethign anyone else has seen?
its called 'sleep of death' or SoD. some people has experienced this and some are able to fix it. it depends on what is causing it.
some blame it to the battery and the battery's contact point..
sometimes it fix itself after few reboots..
cheers for the info. Ill look into it and see if its worth trying to fix or just sending back.
no problem, i have this problem and cant do anything about it. i used load monitor to keep the phone awake, u/v a bit so it wont drain so much battery. but battery drainage still noticeable like 1% every 5 min..
just wondering, does it feels hot/warm near the camera lens when it happens? bcause mine does.
not particularly.
i finally got through to my provider and will be able to get it fixed/replaced soon. they just dont half drag their feet
It all started yesterday morning. My had been acting very strange all day long. It would randomly lose reception all day long and when I say randomly I mean I would be sitting down in the same place for 45 min and it would just lose reception and I would have to reboot to get it back. Once I got home, I was having a very serious talk on the phone and then all of a sudden the reception died. It pissed me off of course, but I knew all I had to do was re-boot. I rebooted my phone, but it would not start...I decided I would take out the battery, and wait a few moments. I put the battery back in, and it put the little buffering icon on the screen and then turned off. I thought my phone might of been bricked or something, but I wasn't quite ready to accept that so I powered down, plugged in my charger and tried to start it and like magic it turned on. Sadly, that is not the end of my problem. The slightest bump, makes my phone turn off, and every time I turn off my phone, I have to use my charger to get it to power on and my phone is having difficulties reading my SIM card. Software issue? What should I do? I am running an outdated version of Simply Honey on GB. I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to androids and what not so if you tell me what to do then I can do it. Thanks for you time.
P.S. Skip to the last few sentences if you wanna skip the whole story and get to what's wrong with my phone.
Odin back to stock and run it for a day to see if the same thing happens with stock
I just tried going into download mode, but it won't turn on now. I think I'm officially screwed -.-
So my phone is now turned on, but after around 5min-15min it decides to reboot. -.-...like it did right now out of nowhere.

Sounds like you have a hardware problem not software related. Did you drop your phone or wet it perhaps? If so well yeah you are screwed and you cannot do anything about that other than replacing the defected part(s). If it is a software problem a quick flash through odin to 2.1 would definitely fix your problems. Otherwise you might be screwed as i had a phone with similar symptoms. It would just reboot on its own after 5mins of use.
I took off the back case and took out the SIM card, battery, and SD card and my SIM was a bit wet along with my battery. :/ I haven't been near water recently but I did leave my phone in the kitchen, so maybe one of the engineers got it wet :/. Good news is, my dad had this exact same phone and is no longer using it so he's gonna FedEx it to me. Bad news is, he tried to get all computer genius with it and bricked it haha. I should be able to get the phone into working condition again though with minimal to no problems. Thanks so much for everyone's time.
So I hopped on a plane today, turned off my phone as required. Landed, and tried to turn it back on, but nothing happened. Thought perhaps I'd not successfully turned it off before and the battery died during the flight, but I got back to my hotel room, connected the charger, and still nothing. Waited for a while to let it REALLY charge, and nothing. Phone is completely unresponsive, will not turn on at all.
I'm going to try to run it by a repair center in the morning since this seems to be a hardware issue, but I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone had any wisdom. Phone is completely stock, unrooted, by the way.
TIA for any insight.
Were you running a custom ROM? Did you flash anything recently? If you plug it into a pc does it try to install a driver for qhusb_dload?
BTW, you don't need to turn it
off completely They just don't want to put in the time, effort or money to figure out what (if anything) interferes with cockpit equipment. I fly a couple of times a month and always just put mine in airplane mode...pretty sure my phone has no effect on anything going on up there from back in row 19.
Sent from my EVO LTE
Today I just wanted to uninstall Temple Run from my Moto E. I followed the standard procedure and suddenly as I dropped the icon in the uninstall menu, the Motorola boot icon appeared and the phone switched off. I tried to boot it into fast bootloader but nothing happened. I dont really know what has happened with my phone since the notification LED is blinking randomly even though the screen and everything else is not working. When I tried calling my phone number it says phone switched off. What has happened with my phone? What can I do so that my can start again
Try holding Power+vol up+vol down together for 10+ seconds.
If it doesn't boot up, connect it to the charger for a few hours and try again.
That too is not working I guess it is hard bricked and I will have to take it to the service center. I failed to understand though how an unrooted phone with stock rom could possibly get so damaged just with normal usage. Although the possibility of a virus is very less could it be the reason?
