[Q] Where can i find settings explorer? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have heard people talk about a "settings explorer" program in windows mobile.
it could be found in the tools folder, but i can't find it anywhere.
I could use it to check and backup various settings and stuff before i start flashing new roms.
Can anyone point me in the right direction...
I can find any extra info on it in the forum, only that it should be located in the tools folder..
Just for your info:
I use a HTC HD2 (stock rom: 1.66 NLD)

go to settings tab, then menu, all settings.

Stuck programs on start menu...

Hi,
I have noticed after flashing the ROM that I have two stuck items on the start menu.
Forst one is my02 and the other is Action Update. Both of these give the message "Cannot find 'my02' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and all the required libraries are available".
If I go into settings, menus and look at the list I can see two entries for both of the above. Either trying to untick the active one or select the inactive one gives the message "Unable to move that item".
So - is there a way to remove the ophaned items and replace them with working items??
Cheers - Rich
ok - figured it out....might be of help to others:
I went into file explorer and deleted the shotcuts from the /my device/windows/start menu folder.
All is well now...
Cheers - Rich

Tascal Search (how to regain access to Windows Search) ?

I set Tascal Search as the default FIND when cooking my ROM. In retrospect this was a mistake, however, I don't want to burn another ROM and go through the pain again so...
1. Can anyone tell me the file name of the Pocket PC FIND App so I can create a shortcut to it?
2. Tell me how to reset the default FIND function to point back to the original FIND app?

Some ROM cooking questions or tips

Hello all!
I have a few things I'd last to ask, maybe someone could point me in the right direction (I searched for them). I've cooked several several ROM's now, and want to get into more advanced tweaking.
I want to continue:
Learning about how to implement registry tweaks before installation
Learning how to set a default theme (tsk) for ROM
Learning how to map functions/buttons (start menu, ok button, other WM functions) to the keypad (via registry?)
Thank you pros!
Learning about how to implement registry tweaks before installation - provxml
Learning how to set a default theme (tsk) for ROM - depends on what you use for autorun
Learning how to map functions/buttons (start menu, ok button, other WM functions) to the keypad (via registry?) - yes reg settings
Check this tutorial for cooking in reg settings; with the newer kitchens, you put the reg keys into the app.reg files instead of .rgus, but it's all the same idea. There's another tutorial in the same forum on cooking in files, and it's also well worth reading.
To find reg settings, it's easiest to first dump your registry, then make a change that will appear in the registry, then dump the registry again. Copy both reg files to your desktop and compare them with Windiff or Beyond Compare, and find out where changes occurred (ignore stuff like the time). If you want reg settings for cabs you've installed, then I'd suggest using sk tools and opening the 'installed programs' tool. Do a deep scan, and check out all of the registry settings for the program. You can also use SK Tracker to pretty much find anything you want; it's similar (but better) to the windiff method, except it does it on your ppc and it also finds changed in files and databases that occur when you make settings changes to your device.

Flashlight program location/ tmous stock rom

cannot for the life of me locate where exactly the flashlight program is located (all in the namesake of swapping out its icon.)
the program can be turned on via start menu / tools.
however, it is not located there using icon changing programs (Change start menu icons or JWMD).
also, when using a reg editing program, it is also not located under start menu / tools (i cannot find the .lnk file!!!). though all of the other programs are there.
i have also looked under: hklm / security / shell / start to locate the .lnk and the respective icon, but again it is not located there.
i have searched around and am simply not having luck. any ideas? all this just to swap out the icon!
thanks in advance.

Droid DNA File Manager? If No How to Install One?

Hi
Recently inherited a Droid DNA that would like to use only for Audio & Video (No phone, Internet...)
Looked for a file manager app. Did not find any. Downloaded the man http://cache.vzw.com/multimedia/mim/htc-dna/HTC-DNA-UM.pdf and did quick search also nothing.
Is there a hidden file manager? If not appreciate suggestions how to install one.
Have access to a Windows 7 PC but wonder if 1st need to install a HTC Droid DNA driver?
Thanks
Ken
Update
Searched and found Verizon User Guide for phone http://cache.vzw.com/multimedia/mim/htc-dna/HTC-DNA-UM.pdf
Read entire guide, no mention of a File Manager.
Decided to check App Manager (which should have done 1st) and under All found listed Android File Manager v5.5.24..... (408 KB) and enabled.
Am wondering why it did not show on Home Screen, so rechecked User Guide.
Found p87 "Adding apps and other shortcuts on your Home screen" and followed instructions "1. Go to Settings, and then tap Personalize. 2. Tap Customize home screen. 3. Tap > Apps or Shortcuts. You can: ยง Swipe to browse through the apps or shortcuts"
Somehow All Apps never opened (only Apps already on Home screen).
Then tried "Tap to search for specific apps or shortcuts" when did this No Keyboard opened...
Please tell me what I am doing wrong.
Will add, since the phone had many apps disabled when I got it, am wondering if some necessary files are disabled?
Thanks
Ken
