I Recently flashed HARDSPL, RADIO and ROM, also put android on it.
Then I flashed back to stock. Before I flashed I backup up all my contacts and messages.
Well after flashing back to stock all my messages seem to be muddled up.
Even when I reply to a text now, it shows I sent it before I got the actual message.
Any way to sort this out, it is kinda annoying.
Thank you in advance.

Hi guys
It has happened twice now that my phone has started receiving an MMS prior to every SMS that comes in. The MMS is empty and it comes from "unknown".
The first time a couple of weeks ago, I was on the phone for 14 hours to fix it; re-installed everything on it including flashing SBF's and starting clean. Nothing helped. After a day the issue magically took care of itself.
Now it started again, 4-5 days ago. I have installed everything fresh (SBF to 1.2.6, 1.5.7 OTA & 1.8.3 OTA), did a factory reset & formated both internal & external storage space; issue still there on an absolutely stock phone. Called the helpdesk of my provider as well, they've never heard of the issue before.
On a desperate attempt to fix it I accidentally removed the messaging apk, took a good while to find one again..
Does anyone have any other ideas I can try? Please, it's driving me mad..

Thanks for your help. I found it easier to start a less congested thread with all the background summarized. Hope I didn't crush the internet by doing so..
Are you using Handcent or Chomp? Is whatever you are using your "default" message app? I was getting duplicate MMS messages until I went into my actual contact list, selected a contact, then tried to send a message to them, it then prompted me to select my message app. I am using Handcent, so I selected Handcent and put a check mark in use as default. I no longer have the problem. Hope this helps...

Thanks for your reply, I am using Chomp sms and it is the default messaging app. It's not that though, I am receiving an empty MMS 5-10 seconds before every SMS I receive. It was the first thing I tried when I returned to stock as I describe above, issue was there. Immensely frustrating..
Bumping this up, need urgently advise as I'm about to throw the damn thing out the window..
Just spoke with the o2 helpdesk, there's nothing they can see /. They have now shut off my data connection, I have disabled all data and I am still getting that fckng MMS!!!
Update: Solved. Got a new SIM. Or that I asked them to freeze my data connection & the new SIM kick-started it again & removed the issue. Goes to show again the incompetence of (many) helpdesk agents; they insisted it was phone related..
I am using CM7 and I change my phone number by going to Menu>settings>call settings>my phone number but after I shut my phone off it does not stick and it goes back to unknown phone number. Can anyone help me?
Also has anyone successfully used the My Phone Number app by Lytsing to fix this?
it just usually fixes itself....i did reflash back to JFD stock a couple of times and it added my number on there...might try that...but I called t-mobile abt it and they said it corrects itself eventually but I still reverted to stock anyway to correct it.
Like he stated, your phone number should automatically update in the phone. I've never seen an instance where manually updating it would fix it. Have you tried removing the sim, booting the phone, shutting it down, replacing the sim and then booting back up again?
Contacts>menu>More>Settings>Own Number>Menu>Create>Reboot
Sent From My Bullet Fast Winning Vibrant
Thanks to all seemed like it fixed itself, but in cyanogen mod, in the aosp messaging, isn't it supposed to display my picture for messages that I send. I am a bit confused about that.
I had to call T-Mobile to get the number fixed on two of our three phones.
Search the forums (always a good idea), there is a procedure you can tell them to do which should fix it.

It does...you have to add yourself as a contact and it will show your picture
I use Vibrant on the AT&T Network.
Recently I've been usin MIUI and Revamped flawlessly. They've been great.
Friday night MIUI (1.9.16) SS-6 came out, I was excited and did a full cache wipe+dalvik+factory fixed permissions and flashed. Went smoothly, no hic-ups, booted up and was happy. As I went through the day tho, I found out none of my SMS texts were going out. I would recieve but no one got any of my replies.
Strangely though I am able to send MMS messages. I know that they go out different ways so that would explain that.
I can make an recieve calls as well.
I've tried going back to SS-5, trying out LE-9, and Stock MIUI. (The current release and one previous.) Sadly the same result being unable to send SMS but able to recieve.
It does not have a continuous "Sending Status" it reports the messages as sent. With a timestamp.
Also tried sending from GoSMS, same result. I don't know if this problem has ever happened before.
Help is greatly appreciated.
Your message center number might be missing. Try the following method to look up and enter the number. Might be worth a shot.

07913121139418F0 Might be the number you have to add but you double check anyways.
Thank you very much. Solved.

Samsung Galaxy S running ICS 12
For some reason all my calls go straight to voice mail with no notification on the handset. This started in ICS version 11 so I upped to V12 and all was good, that is until I ran Titanium back up and restored my settings. I've reinstalled ICS 4 times now checking fewer and fewer items to be restored but it still happens.
I can't find the voice mail setting that would allow me to change this feature/bug so a heads up there would help. Just exactly which box to leave unchecked in Titanium would also be a great help.
Also, does changing to the GB boot loader change the boot time?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.
Jon
My solution has been to only restore apps and manually configure the rest. It's a nuisance to have lost all my text history but that and contacts were the only thing I was trying to restore. Contacts are backed up to the sim card so no real loss. Once I have it dialed in, I'm going to make another back up. Don't really know what else to do.
Guys, perplexing problem.
I am running a rooted TB with SoaB, SSLauncher, and GoSMS.
My wife is running a stock iPhone 4S.
There are times when she sends me texts that I never recieve, (really, not being a inattentative guy). For example, today. She sends me texts during the day, I get them. then all of a sudden I don't.
I check settings, sms is set to automatically recieve, my GoSMS is set to not delete old messages, everything seems fine. She is getting, but I am not recieving.
so I send me a text from my phone, I get it. I send a text from my work phone, I get it. But not from her. We will talk on the phone and I ask her to send one, and I will manage to get a text from her. But 30 minutes later, nothing. I will play with my phone, check setting, delete messages, ask her to send a text, I get one.
There is no rhyme or reason to this condition. I checked and she isn't blacklisted or anything. I have done reboots, doesn't fix. It really is truly sproadic and unpredictable.
She swears its my phone, since her sister who has an android gets all of her messages. I will post the question as well over at the Go site, and Bamf as well, but not sure it its those or not.
Last week I woke to find my phone had set itself into the bootlauncher or whatever that white screen is where you can reboot, load a recovery, load a rom, or whatever. I choose to reboot and found it odd that that happened. Do you think there is something with that screen that messed up something?
Sorry for the long post, want to get this fixed.
