Hey guys,
so I've been playing around with different FroYo builds since I got my phone a week ago (2.10.50.26 radio with Kumar 2.8 WinMo and Android 2.1). Only the first android that I installed works great, only problem is no ringtones, but I add an mp3 trim ringtone app and everything works fine after making a few ringtones, that isn't my question though. My question is concerning the other android builds that I put on my SD card after the first one, two other Froyo 2.1's and one 2.2. Every time I installed a new one I made sure to delete everything on my SD card (not format) and put a saved copy of all of my original SD card files excluding my Android folder. Then I made a new Android folder, extracted all of the files to my desktop, copied the files over to an Android folder on my SD card, and ran CLRCAD then Haret, all of the other builds haven't worked right or haven't installed, so I'm wondering if I got lucky on the first build working great and the other builds not working great on my phone, or if there are some residual files on the card or phone, hidden files or buried files in the WinMo ROM somewhere that are messing up the new builds that I try to install. I can reinstall the first one that I installed and it still works fine. I would really like to get Android 2.2 to work.
Plug your phone into the computer and select disc drive, copy all files of the card and format card to FAT32, download latest froyo 2.2 rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=795914 and extract the android folder to the root of your SD Card, disconnect phone, open file explorer and run HaRet.exe from the android folder.
Good Luck

I just recently got the startrek or 3125 and i was looking at the wiki on how to cid unlock it but i follow all the instructions but still i eather get lost or dont know what to do anymore can anyone help
please
try flasing using micro sd card
make sure your micro sd card is formatted to fat32.
download surrealnetworksappunlock.cab and run on your phone.
download your rom of choice to your pc.
(open the rom with winrar and you should see 2 folders, 1 named ruu and 1 named sspl)
open the ruu folder and extract the file ruu_signed.nbh to your desktop.
open the sspl folder and extract the files jumpspl.exe, spl.nb and spl (shortcut) to your desktop.
copy the jumpspl.exe, spl.nb and spl shortcut to your root directory on your device (not the storage card)
on your desktop, rename the ruu_signed.nbk file to starimg.nbk
copy the starimg.nbk file to the root of your storage card.
run the spl shortcut (it is the 36 bit file) from your phones root directory, your will get a prompt that the phone is searching the sd card, then select that you want to replace the os. should only take 20-30 sec, restart the phone when it prompts you.
fyi, you can have multiple nbk images on your card, just create a folder for your images, make sure to name the images accordingly, ie.. starimgwm6 or starimgwm6.1 etc...
then when you are bored or feel the need to change your os, just rename the image to starimg, place it on the root of the sd card and swap os's to your hearts content.
you can use the same process to change radios as well.
Hi, I also just got a used 3125, but no data cable. I used the SD Flash method to update to the last official Cingular ROM with no problems.
I've wanted to flash to the wm6 or wm6.1 roms here, but without the data cable I thought I was out of luck. Does the method you describe above work on all of these "unofficial" ROMs?
Just wanted a better explaination of what you meant by:
download your rom of choice to your pc.

The SD Flash thread specifically said only official ROM could be flashed from SD Card.
rom choice
has worked for me.
Great. I will try tonight.
I see that the two WM6.1 roms come only as "clean" versions... has anyone made a "Cingular OEM" version of wm6.1? If I use the "clean" ROM, what would I need to do to fully use the phone on Cingular network (USA)?
Lewnetoons - hows the PPC version on the 3125? Do you find youself using fakecursor alot, or only on PPC specific applications?
ppc version
It a little tricky to navigate sometimes, but not bad, after the first couple of days u get used to it, I really don't use it that much (the cursor that is)
I would suggest speeding up the cursor movement with the settings, it moves a little slow with the basic settings.
The nice thing is it runs most ppc and smartphone apps, a few don't work but most do with no problem.

thanks but this dint work i did everything correct and all it got to is were it looks in the sd card but the goes to the bootloader screen and it just stay there until i restart it
is there anyother way to upgrade it
storage card
not that I am aware of, if the renamed nbk file is on the root of the storage card it should work.
Just flashed to wm6.1 using the instructions in post #2. Worked exactly as stated. I thought I had to wait for a datacable to Flash, but this microSD card flashing is perfect.
Thanks!!
Trying to install the froyo build on my new tmobile phone here is what i did tell me if i missed anything:
formatted the micro sd card 16gb.
updated window rom with ChuckyROM GTX + CHT 1.8.5 - 23128 ~ 2.10.1
updated radio with Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14**
put android folder into the mobile device folder of mobile device( my computer-mobile device-clicked mobile device and put into their)
went in and ran CLRCAD.EXE then ran HaRet.exe
displays htc onto the screen and then doesn't do anything forever i have to pull the battery and restart it.
What am i doing wrong?
You HAVE TO put the Android folder onto the root of your sd card
That means just onto your sd card, not into a folder in your card, just on the card. Android will not run from your phone's internal memory, which is where you have it now.
So in Windows Mobile Device Center, or ActiveSync - whichever one you have one your computer, you would click into your mobile device, the sd card, then paste the Android folder there.
Then disconnect from your comp, use file explorer go into sd card --> Android folder --> tap CLRCAD then tap HARET
Then the most important part - Enjoy Android!!
Remember, the first time Android boots up, it can take like 10 minutes, just wait
Then open up a few apps, hold your pwer button, choose reboot
This is important, without doing this, Android will probably use a ton of battery and not perform as well later on

(again im a noob)
my 'android' folder is placed in the root of my sd card, i try to load anroid (clrcad, haret) i get booting linux box on my screen, then black with writing upto 'jumping to kernal' which is all over the forums then i get the white screen with green HTC. im finally posting as ive been on and off attempting for a number of months slowly getting closer, but to no avail. help would be great. if u need more details just post what you need and how id find it just incase.
thanks
I have tried a few roms (SD) and run great. After I install applications and reboot, all of the apps are removed including Market.
Any ideas?
Thanks...
Hi Matey below is what i done and all the stuff i had installed worked great.
cut everything from SD card to folder on PC desktop, followed instructions again for putting SuperRAM on SD card, then overwrite the Data image file on sd with the one i had saved and Walla! all working again.
Reason i had to reload mine to SD card was because it had become corrupted So jcsy recommended the above, but only needed to replace the Data file image with the one that had been newly put on the card.
Good luck
Hi I recently flashed my Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 with the Resurrection Remix ICS v.1.9.1 ROM and everything went fairly well except that my external sdcard looked like it had been totally erased. While this was irritating it was not devastating (had a backup) but when i attached my sgs2 to my computer to copy the backup back to the sdcard i noticed that everything was there, i hadn't lost a single file. I went back and looked at the card via my phone and it still looks empty but i did notice (after further inspection) that it is almost full. I checked to make sure view hidden files was enabled, it was, but still nada (using OI File manager and File Explorer). I got no ideas would really appreciate any ideas on what i might do to fix this issue.
Cheers,
-Gaiko
[Q] I updated from ICS resurrection remix 1.7 to 1.8.1 and i got problems with..
Hi, thanks for the quick reply but i had tried those things (I shoulda mentioned that, sorry). I have tried combinations of use internal storage and MTP but still not able to see the contents of the exsd card (haven't had problems seeing the card itself, just the contents on the card).
Cheers,
-Gaiko
copy the contents of the sdcard to your computer, and format the sd card from your phone. Try again.

hi I tried to format it then copy a few things back on it but strangely it still shows up like it did before, that is, before there was one lone/empty folder that showed up (nothing else showed up through android, but i could see it via windows) but after i formated it, this folder (named "AudioBooks" that i had made before) still shows up when i try to look at the cards contents via android. This folder does not show up in windows, and nothing new that i copy to the card shows up in Android still.
Is there perhaps some sort of cache that i should clear as it seems to be showing me "bits from the past" (though also strange how it only shows me that audiobooks folder and not any of the 5 other folders that i had on there previously).
Any thoughts/ideas would really be appreciated!
-Gaiko
Maka a backup and restore original rom, and see if the problem persists. If not, you should notify a bug to Resurrection Remix rom developer.
Similar problem
I have had a similar problem. Been using RR last few months and all been good. Since I updated to RR 2.2 could not access my internal SD card. I had a few backups and as soon as I restored 2.1 viola everything's fine.
Tried using Siyah 3.2.7.2 and 3.3.1 kernels with no luck.
Have tried wiping everything and doing a fresh install with 2.2 but same issue. Did you have any luck?
Ever wanted to try an Android ROM on your RK3188 device but don't want to flash it and risk bricking your device? Or maybe you've currently installed Linux and want to try Android? I've created a tool to create a bootable SD card that can run Android directly from the SD card.
You will need a PC running Linux and an SD card of 8 GB or more, at least class 10 speed, and your Android ROM(s). In this example I've downloaded Radxa Rock's Kitkat ROM 'radxa_rock_android_kitkat_140909_update.img' from 'http://radxa.com/Rock/prebuilt_images'.
Download the tool from 'https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B99O3A0dDe67b3dBUjFzcUoyLWs'. After unzipping you will see a shell script called 'create-android-sdcard' and a directory called 'Tools'.
First load your SD card into the PC and use a command like 'blkid' or 'lsblk' to identify its device name (e.g. /dev/sdc).
Now run the program and pass the name and location of the Android ROM you want to install onto the SD card, e.g.:
./create-android-sdcard radxa_rock_android_kitkat_140909_update.img
The program will prompt you to confirm the name of the device for the SD card. Once confirmed it will then unpack the Android ROM, create partitions on the SD card that mimic the ROM including a 'user' partition that will use the remaining space of the SD card. It will then install the Android ROM to the SD card and notify you when complete.
Finally just take the SD card and insert into your RK3188 device and power on to enjoy Android.
The initial boot is very slow so be patient. For some ROMs this actually seems like a very long time, so be extra patient! Subsequent boots however are faster.
Everything should work 'out of the box' for Kitkat ROMs. For 4.2.2 ROMs as internal storage is implemented slightly differently, I did find one specific ROM where 'Explorer' didn't recognise the internal storage but 'ES File Explorer' did. All other 4.2.2 ROMs worked fine.
In theory it should work with any Android ROM packed as an image. My program uses standard RK tools which are included in the 'Tools' directory. I've included checks to ensure the ROM's format follows the traditional build layout so if the ROM, and in particular, the 'parameter' file is substantially different then YMMV.
Enjoy!
I'm going to try this on my Timing Power RK3188 Mini PC later today. Thanks!
Any idea why it's telling me cannot create kernel image?
Type password to decrypt storage.
I downloaded the rom as from ricomagic
FW_141208:S/N from 201307**** till now
First I installed the rom in Nand and then created the sd card as described( with the same rom). After few seconds after booting , android shows the message :Type password to decrypt storage.
Passwords like p, root ... does not work. Any hint or direction to search for?
Thank you for all well done work.
Edit:
I got a better aproach at (Linuxium) - 21 de jun de 2014
First form official rikomagic web site i installed the latest stock firmware
MK802IV_AP6210_141208. (kitkat)
Then I downloaded make-rkm-mk802iv.7z and create a linux sd-card
Thank you for your great work!
Murilo
can i do it with a usb instead of sd card because my android box do not have a sdcard port
thank you
can i try on any box or its only specific box?
