Hi.
I'm having a problem with ActiveSync (only with Exchange 2010 I have also tested on 2007 and no problems)
This is a problem with DesireHD Roms and Exchange 2010
I can sync, contacts, calendar, download emails, delete emails but I can't send emails or download attachment.
It does not show an error it just does not send the email or does not download the attach
This is happening with any Desire HD ROM.(no problem with regular desire Rom )
I have been search in Google and looks like the problem is that Exchange 2010 has a new ActiveSync protocol EAS 14 and the HD Rom is using this new protocol. Normal desire uses EAS 12
I have found a fix for Iphone 4.0 that was having the same problem.
http://www.jimgoings.com/2010/08/fix-for-iphone-ios-4-and-exchange-2010-active-sync-issues/
I have tested with
Mdeejay FroYo HD v.3.3a beta
Based on Official final ROM Desire HD 1.24.405.1
[BUILD][20.09.2010][DesireHD - Beta 2][Kernel: darkstone]
Is anyone having the same problem??
Thank you
Almost the same issue as you. (I've been trailing mdeejay's various builds lately).
No issues with the regular Desire Roms and Exchange 2010 but when using the Desire HD, I can never sync my calendar. Contacts and emails sync ok but also cannot get attachments or "Get Remaining KB"

maybe is for this error??
I have been searching google and most of the finds are that there is a bad implementation of the EAS14 protocol from HTC.... so maybe is no a problem that can fix mdeejay

Hi
I want to find a solution,
Can you share your settings?
Thank you
Got the same problem as well, Exchange 2010 with all latest hotfixes etc.
Only thing not tried is exchange 2010 sp1, so going to install that right now and see how it goes. Might raise a PSS call with MS and see if they have a solution for forcing EAS12.1 to devices.

Do you have a SSL? Public o private?
My is private, maybe that is the problem? Do you know how to install .cer on android?
Thank you

Mine is a propper full blown SSL Cert, so it's public one, and still no go. I've raised a call with the Exchange PSS team, see what they say.

Any update on this issue?
I'm experiencing the same problem and despite lots of digging around in the Exchange management console I can't find any way of forcing it to use pre-OWA14. I really despise having to use the Exchange shell so I'm holding off trying to dig through that mess. In the meantime I've reverted to the latest Froyostone but would love to get back to a Desire HD build.

Right, after much tooing and froing with PSS there is a fix, but it's not a viable one, you NEED to have an Exchange 2007 Front end setup, and then proxy connections to the OWA 2010 via it, so not really a fix.
PSS/MS say it's a HTC issue (which it is) and they have notified them under the license terms of EAS licensing, but completely upto them to fix, apparently almost the identical issue as Apple had with OS4.x

Hi! I know this has been discussed a several times, but never in depth outside a ROM-release thread. Hope this is ok!
I tried three WM61 ROMs on my Oxygen and never got Exchange ActiveSync working. Always recieve error 0x80072F06 - SSL vertificate invalid (Which is wrong, and it is no wildcard cert! Tried two different exchange servers. Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2009 Beta).
I tried..
- two registry pathches (secure=0 and.. forgot the other one)
- importing CER file from authority
- provisioning cert via XML in CAB
- setting up partnership w/ desktop and setting up profile over-the-air only
GPRS works fine. Currently, I rolled back wo WM5 WWE.
Does anyone have an idea of what else can be tried to fix it, because it seems that this is not only happening on Oxygen?
And: thanks so far, I read so much in this forum you all posted! It was more than very, very helpful the last two years! Wonderful community!
hum.. really no one with an idea?
Does the issue appear at the chinese rom?
Still no SSL solution
Has anyone made any progress on this WM6.1 SSL error problem described by MoritzN? There is so much waffle on the net by people with no clue suffering ("I uninstalled Eastern Language support which fixed it for me" sort of ridiculous solutions!!), I wondered whether anyone who knows what they're talking about has sorted it out?!
Hello Guys,
I have the same issue on the ROM WM6.1 by zfree
"The server certificate is invalide ..."
on exchange server 2007
I'm sure of my settings causqe this config work fine on my HTC kaiser ...
I have ever try that on WM6.1 rom by Blackdragon_860 and i have no sync at all ...
I will try to find another Rom to see if the problem occur...

Doesn't really anyone have an idea?
I would really donate $$$ for a solution.. I want the S310 to become my beach-phone...
Thanks !!!
No one knows...
And I guess this is the same reason Google Latitude doesn't work
.NET CF 3.5 is required.

UPDATE (3/3/10): Version 0.5 Released - See Post 55 for Change Log - Device List below updated ... Updated v0.6 with auto start on device boot attached ... If you are using v0.5 (or v0.5_autostart which I screwed up ... sorry), uninstall it and install the v0.6.
Device List (Updated 3/8/10)
Known Working Devices
HTC Titan
HTC RhodiumW (Touch Pro 2)
HTC Rhodium (Tilt 2)
NOT Known Working Devices - If anyone uses a device listed here and my app, please let me know if it works.
HTC HD2 - I think this is similar to the TP2 - Should work, but I need someone to confirm this
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 - I have no idea ... Does this device use the WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack? Can someone test the latest app?
If you install this app, and have problems, uninstall msvcFix and install "revert_msvcFix.cab"
UPDATE (8/11/09): I have fixed the native app (now referred to as v0.3) and attached. I will leave the v0.1 attached as well.
UPDATE (8/10/09): Sorry, but there is something wrong in the native v0.2 ... I have posted the orig v0.1 in the mean time.
Not sure what devices this effects/fixes, but on my Titan, Voice Command incoming caller ID announcements don't work correctly. The work-around I use is ...
To enable caller ID announcements:
Set HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce\Category to "Ring"
Set HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\Category to "_Ring"
Set HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundsCategories\Ring\initVol to 15
To disable caller ID announcements:
Set HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce\Category to "_Ring"
Set HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\RingTone0\Category to "Ring"
Set HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundsCategories\Ring\initVol to 5
I have written a program to address these "fixes". My program checks the MSVC "Announce incoming caller ID" option, and checks to see if bluetooth is paired and headset service is active. If all these checks pass, I set the "enable" registry settings ... If not, set the "disable" registry settings.
Currently, the default interval is 5 seconds. I intend to make the interval a setting in the registry in the next version. Attached is a CAB install for version 0.3. The CAB will install the EXE to \Program Files\dj13241\ and create a shortcut in \Windows\Startup\ (it will auto-run on device boot). Version 0.1 was written in VB .Net, and took up to ~1.5 MB after running for some time. This version (v0.3) was written entirely in native C and compiled with cegcc-mingw32ce-gcc on Linux, and takes up 32 KB! Quite a memory improvement!
Feedback anyone?
Anyone have any feedback on this? Should I spend the time to improve it? Any feature requests? Anything?

I think I know what the problem is ... I don't have my earpiece with me to test it though. Are you comfortable using a registry editor? If so, please post the values for the following keys:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway]
"BTAGExtModule" =
"Capability" =
Also, please look in your \Windows\ directory for a file called "vcbthag.dll" ... You will have to check off 'Menu->Show all files' in order to see dll files.
Thank you for the constructive feedback!

I am VERY interested in getting incoming caller ID to announce over BT on my Tilt 2. If you get this, you are officially the ruler of the universe!!!
I'm interested, will give it a try on my HD2
Hi and thanks for all the great info. Please forgive me (newby) to winmo,i installed ms voice commander and installe the Voice Command Announcement Fix and it still wont announnce the caller calling.Has anyone got any insight to the problem.
Thankyou
Sorry, not working on HD2 either
pity.. does not work on xperia x1 either..
I'm on it ...
I have a Touch Pro 2 and with some registry mods (quite a hack job at this point), I got it to the point of announcing Caller ID without playing a ringtone, but it announced from the phone's external speaker and my earpiece played its internal ringer. It looks to me like a timing issue ... VC creates a file \Application Data\Volitle\TTSCallerID.wav which is the caller ID announcement ... I think that the delay involved with creating that file is causing the issue, and by the time the file is created, my earpiece is already ringing with its ringtone.
On another note, my original program is (apparently) dependent on a different Bluetooth stack that the TP2 (which uses the wildcomm stack) ... If anyone knows how to check for a BT headset via native API, I would love to know!
I will be editing the first post when I have some time later tonight ... I will add "known working" and "known not working" phone lists ... Looks like the "not working" list will be longer for now
Thanks for all the feedback so far.
The Tilt 2 also uses the Widcomm BT stack. We've been blaming everything on the Widcomm stack, but I've begun to suspect that the aging MSVC software is really more to blame as it doesn't know how to play nice with newer software. Of course, I remember all of us soundly denouncing MSVC a few years ago about not being very compatible with the MS BT stack either!
I think you are definitely on to something. Yes, the hacks you have may be a bit kludgy but accurate. A suggestion: forget the checks to see if BT enable or not for the time being; leave BT enabled and do all reg changes, etc with the assumption that BT is enabled and connected. Forgive me if that sounds condescending -- I lost all my programming skills about the time Turbo Pascal died, if anyone here even remembers that from the early 80s -- but sometimes an outside view can make a small difference.
Always willing to try any hacks you suggest to see how they work on my stock Tilt 2; feel free to PM fi there's anything I can do to help.
Hi,
I have a TP2 with Stock ROM and have no problems with announcing phone calls, but..
You may already know about the bug when an "unknown caller" calls. VC does three things choosing randomly:
- 1. Does not announce anything, phone does not ring
- 2. does not anonunce anything, phone rings for a sec.
- 3. does announce the LAST CALLER - and this is really annoying, when you think you have a call from a friend or something, and it turns out VC just scammed you badly.
So my question is can you fix at least the 3rd behavior?

Its good to know this info though ... Do you have a BT headset you could try it with? Has anyone else tried with a stock ROM, or is everyone using custom ROMs?
I'm going to dump the stock ROM registry and compare it to what I am running (which is a ROM built from Calkulin's 1.5 Beta Kitchen with a few of my own MODs).
Nope. The device itself gives me enough radiation I don't need more from a bluetooth device

Hi @ll!
I recently released version 1.2 of my latest App "Next2Me" to the US Windows Marketplace.
Next2Me uses GPS and shows you all available businesses around you from over 30 categories. You can view the results on a map, show detailed information. You can also call the target business, send the detail information to your friends by Mail or SMS or save the business to your contact list all by only one click!
And here is the latest BETA version of the upcoming Next2Me 1.3.
[UPDATE]
You can now manually choose between miles and meters. And for all US and Candians, Next2Me is now searching for "Gas stations"
[UPDATE]
I changed the GPS code a bit because some users get an exception on some devices.
[UPDATE]
Again changed the GPS device detection.
[UPDATE 04/25/2010]
o RC1 released
o Next2Me languages: DE, EN, FR, NL
o A menu to tell Next2Me how to search for your GPS device (this will solve several issues, like the exception told by some users and the unwanted bluetooth dialog which is automatically poping up)
[UPDATE 04/27/2010]
o Next2Me now in IT (thanks to Spyrale)
o Beautiful new High-Res Icons for the menu (thanks to Saumaun)
o Limit the search radius (250m, 500m, 1000m, 1500m, all)
[UPDATE 04/28/2010]
o Fixed a language bug for the italian version
[UPDATE 05/01/2010]
o Updated language strings for NL, FR and IT
If there aren't any more suggestions or bugs, this version will be send to the Marketplace
So, have fun with Next2Me and send me your suggestions, critics, etc.

Any thoughts of using Google Location instead of GPS to speed things up? also, I don't see a way to email a location- just to SMS. Am I missing it? If it could pull the Google info that would be nice as well (such as type of restaurant, rating, etc). Overall I do like it though. Good luck with the project!
great app so far but sometimes you cant get a gps fix or it can take awhile. would it be possible to use google location or Sleuth's myLocation Service here? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=607102. These might work better and they will almost always work and are much quicker than a gps fix.

From what I've seen, this app has a lot of promise, but I have had a problem...
On my Tilt2, whenever I look for something with Next2Me, I get a message "Invalid GPS Signal..." or "No GPS Device found.". But, if I start up Google Maps first, and let it get my GPS position and then start up Next2Me, it works just fine. Any thoughts/suggestions?
Also, if it could toggle between km and miles, it'd help for us Americans who won't join the rest of the world in using km's
One more suggestion for future updates...if we could set the # of hits returned or better yet, if we could specify a 'radius' to search it'd make the app even more user friendly.
Thanks for the work and keep it up

Hm, that's a GPS-Problem under Windows. You can use QuickGPS to improve the lock-time, but that doesn't always work.

Yeah, that would be a solution to use the location service using the Google Location. I can implement support for the myLocation service of Sleuth, but I would prefer to implement the location service into Next2Me, so that there is no need for the user to install another application to use Next2Me. Are there any specifications or source code snippets how to use the Google Location service under Windows Mobile?

Next2Me checks your Mobile Outlook on you cell phone, if there's an E-Mail account available. This e-mail account will be used to send the email with the location service. The button for sending an e-mail will only be shown if there's an email account set up in your Windows Mobile.
Hope this helps!

Not really ... it's currently available as BETA version. You can download it from the first post. Did Next2Me crash with version 1.1 or earlier? I want to test it with as much cell phones as possible, so please write me if you have any errors with Next2Me.
Additional info: Next2Me 1.2 BETA also supports location using the GSM network. So, it also works with cell phones without GPS module.
Love the new version, Fast, nice GUI and great info! Thanks for this very useful app!
LoL I restart the Omnia and now it works good (Version 1.2).
But how can we add content?

What do you mean with that? Do you want to add your own categories and search criterias? This is not possible currently. I am thinking about implementing it, but currently it's not possible. This BETA version is for testing it with as much as possible cell phones, to be sure position detection is working on every phone.
C YA
Tested on tmobile touch pro 2 and works very well on cell tower location. Haven't tried on GPS.
However, the result for gas station is way off, reporting station like 700KM away from current location. Other services seem fine.
Besides, is it possible to change units? Or show current gas price?
Working really nice on my HD2 ! Congratulations man

What do you excatly mean "birthdays imported from facebook"? If it's imported to outlook contacts all apps should have no problems with that. Do you mean directly check facebook contacts ?

in hd2, you can link your phone contacts to facebook contacts of your facebook account. That automatically imports his/her current facebook profile photo and birthday date to your hd2 contact of that person.
btw, ill give it a go, now that im at home and give feedback
edit: i tested the app. It won't create events for the people that have their birthday imported from facebook :/
overall, its a nice application, it runs smoothly in my device, and the ui is lovely. well done
also, i tried editing one of my existing contacts (whos birthday is set via facebook), and manually set his birthday, and the application automatically created an event for that persons birthday! Now, if only i wasnt lazy enough to change all my contacts
the only drawback i can think of is that it wont show any image for the contacts linked to a facebook account.

I have ported Sense from HD2 to HD and i know this feature but for me works only import image. And this image is visible only in "sense" software.
Can you go to standard Contacts application and send me content of Notes from imported contact? I have suspicions for that.
Thanks for the app, but it does not work on my HTD TD2 (rom Dutty Holy Grail R7.1 FRE).
The app launches but hangs once in the main menu (I can't press any button, can't stop the app and I have to soft reset the device).

Try after soft-reset. Try without sense enabled. Just for test.
It's not working on Omnia2. Error in libglesv2.dll.
great app, and the skin looks great on this one, thanks

Seems to be a driver related problem. Unfortunately i don't have Omnia2 to check this. Do you have more detailed message about this error?
On my TP2 with Energy rom it freezes and i can make only a soft reset....

well, all the "facebook" contacts have a note similar to this one:
<sn>id:1601022801/friendof:1358181263</sn>
only the id:xxx changes.

Hi all!
So I just bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.0 and its my first tab. I have a HTC Desire cellphone, so android isn't completely unknown for me.
Even though I do have a few questions, maybe you guys can help me with.
1)
I have seen many screenshots where people have different background for each screen. One homepage, one called music to the left and maybe one called games to the right (just examples). And it look really awsome, how do I get it to mine?
2) It says it can have different email clients synchronized, but I cant get my yahoo mail to cooperate with it - I have no idea why. When I try to add another mail than Gmail (which I dont use) then it wont accept it. I did wrote to Samsung but they have no explanation or what so ever.
I'm a new user and cant post any outside links. I found the guide at a site called androidspot - how to setting yahoo mail on samsung galaxy tab.
3) generel tips! I really love my tab and think it is a great machine and can, in some place, be a substitute for a laptop. And that is what it is. I do have the feeling I dont really use all its function or just half of them.
Hope you guys can help me
And btw, I'm from Europe therefore there maybe be som function I cant use, like Move Hub (Damn! This one would be awsome to have!).

Hi
I can only answer your first Q:
Get this App --> https://market.android.com/details?id=org.tamanegi.wallpaper.multipicture
Maybe you should try to get an OTA update from Samsung to solve your mail problem.
Otherwise flash a newer ROM.
BTW: Good choice for the tablet ;-)

To get that app, should I get into the app store or should I go through your link, with my tab? I actually had no idea we were able to download direct from the internet, thought we had to go through the app store?
What is an OTA update? I recently updated the tab, so I suppose I have what we call touchwiz at the moment? I have heard the word "honeycomb", is that another OS or same thing as touchwiz?
According to this site you need to upgrade to a Yahoo! Mail Plus account.
Or try this

You can use the stock email app using these settings. I will post a video on my blog showing step by step soon.

opening this link on your tab will result in a question if you would like to open this like with the browser or the market, choose market.
OTA means Over The Air. but therefore you need to have setup an account at samsung. can be done under settings - about phone (or something - last option).

And yeah, hopefully it wont dissapoint me ;-) So far I'm happy for it. I have bought some games and for some reason it seems to have some problem playting them. Sometimes it suddently exit the game to the homescreen, and I have no idea why.
