In my opinion no, 2.1 was rushed out and is slow and buggy. Or is it just the hardware at fault?
One thing is for sure my g1 on cyanogenmod 5.0.8 was much better than this.

Regarding this issue: check that you have the permission file present for multitouch in /system/etc/permissions/android.hardware.touchscreen.multitouch.xml
Yes this file exists, I am not sure should it contain.

As for the file, I guess you should try running another ROM based off CM6 (any of the froyo ROMs should work), as they have working MT.
Unless you fancy hunting down this issue somewhere...

I am a droid eris user. I currently have the 2.1 Leak Rooted and would like to have either 2.2 or cyanogen on my phone. I realize that I am in the wrong place to ask this question but I learn fast and would greatly appreciate any help/suggestions. I need my phone to work like it should, and am willing to take any steps necessary to "get there'. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Wanted to let everyone that I have gingerbread running on the streak. The current progress I have at the moment looks and feels great but....
Problems: wifi is dropping connection frequently and having random FC for various different components.
It is what I would consider pre alpha so I will not even post an update file for you guys yet. Will keep everyone posted as to when I will post the first actual build. Should have a decent stable version for you guys possibly as a Christmas gift. Will post photos of it soon.

Maybe just to let us all know theres a new addition to the small amount of people that develop thomas for the streak for the streak?
If you go to another devices android development forum theres a handful of roms to choose from...

It would be nice... coming from a Nexus One, I miss having the options of which ROM to flash for the day of the week.

Well.... now when they do a search XDA dev website will pop up first in google making it that much easier for them. I am all about helping out someone who desires to mod their phone.
On another note, I am so glad gentlemen like you are here supporting all of us. I am confident that I can ask any reasonable question on here and someone will answer it. I do feel bad for the jackasses that do no research and ask a question on here though... lol, you guys won't let that stuff go. I don't blame you, I wouldn't want a bunch of noobs clogging up a serious forum with crap.
