Flash to 2.2 Rom and now - Streak 5 Android Development

it rebooted after i installed v1 rom and now i am stuck at the dell logo it does the transition, and then on the dell logo sometimes it does it twice but nothing any ideas?

Mine went that way...perform a hard reset. That should do it....

both volume keys and power on then reset factory settings?

it is still doing it

try going back to your original rom and start back again

Do you have clockwork and if you go to install update.zip do you get the green screen with scroll with volume up/down then select zip from sd card? If so i had this problem and had to re-flash clockwork recovery then select the zip for 2.2. Hope you resolve

It happened to me as well. I reflashed 0.2, did a factory reset, then flashed v1.0 and it works.

You go into recovery and format everything....cache....etc... and restart it holding the volume buttons and press go back to factory settings nd that does the trick

after flashing the 2.2 rom, u should do a wipe before restarting the phone

did anyone find a fix for the freezing dell logo screen. I have an att 1.6 that i upgraded all the way to 2.1 and decided to try 2.2 im running into the same problem of the frozen dell logo screen. it does its animation 1 or 2 times then just stays there.i reflashed clockwork twice and factory reset multiple times with still no luck. at this point i just wanna go back to 2.1 but cant seem to get into my sd card from the recovery.

Turn the streak off, then boot into recovery (pressing volume up and down while turning on. ) then select option 2. This puts you in clockwork recovery. From there you can toggle usb on and off.
Also i had the sake problem with the sell logo. I went into clockwork recovery and in the partition menu mounted everything. That seemed to work.

[Q] Is my streak bricked?

I was using Type Fresh to change system fonts on stock 2.2 rom. Fresh type didn't tell me to reboot like it was supposed to. After manual reboot, it stopped at the Dell logo screen.
The factory reset didn't resolve it.
I found the update.pkg from the xda streak wiki. I can flash it successfully from the sd card, but at reboot, it still stalls at the logo screen. I left it there for several minutes, and it was still was stuck there.
yes but its a soft brick you should be able to fix it with a bit of reading here on XDA i would recommend the multi flasher tool it is easy to use but installing the drivers i think was a little difficult so yea bud good luck also did you try factory reset
Yeah, factory reset was the first thing I tried...
I'd run the QDL repair tool on it. If you can get your hands on it.
If not try the factory reset a couple of times consecutively and remember to give it plenty of time.
A factory reset of the DELL android system with all the junk they have in it can take up to 20 minutes to boot

Stuck on Dell Logo
Little note on what I had done to unbrick Streak from Dell Logo.
I had few trouble getting 2.2 installed
1) turn off
2) press both vol keys and power
3) select "Update from update.pkg from SD"
4) (re)Install update.zip (Steves) using Clockwork
5) Reboot and press both vol keys
6) "Factory reset"
tada!!! thats how I managed to get pass the Dell Logo.

Thanks for the tip, I read in some other threads about 3 mins. But last night I let it flash from the sd card, and left it to reboot overnight while I slept. This afternoon, I turned it on again and it worked!
Thanks!

You can't install 1.9.0 with the stock recovery so you would have to tell him all the steps to get into fastboot and flash a custom recovery.

[Q]Factory Reset Loop ... Blank screen after Update.pkg

well i have a version 347 build no 15274 and i tried to root it and then it got stuck at the dell logo so i did a factory reset and that didnt help then i tried to use an update.pkg and always got signature verification failed, so i booted into fastmood and started flashing different recovery images and basebands, and nothing worked the last baseband and recovery image i flased was 111 so i tired to use the update package for the 111 and that doesnt seem to work. so i tried another factory reset and now everytime i attempt to get into fastboot i get stuck in a factory reset loop with a white screen with factory reset text reboot white screen reboot on and on...and every update.pkg i try doesnt seem to get anywhere but a blank screen and this is very fustrating i have been at this for 10 hours straight please help!!!!
Of course you must make sure you have installed the correct recovery that matches with the .pkg you are using...
When it boots up, hold both volume buttons, then choose factory reset from the First menu. Then do it again.
If that doesn't work, you may have messed something up. Look up QDL tool for the Streak and try to upgrade that way.

There is a post about a bricked streak in the General Dell Streak forum. There are links for the QDL tool and instructions there.
I had to use the QDL tool to get my streak back from near death. And then to prep it for a warranty return since I have some weird issue with a flashing light restart loop when my Sim card is installed.

[Q] Might have just screwed my phone. Any help appreciated.

So. I was on 1.4a of CherryBlur. Flashed the newest FULL WIPE with Webtop version 1.4d. Flashed using Tenfar's Recovery and it said flashing was successful. Now, when I turn the phone on, at the motorola logo screen, with "Dual Core Technology" below it, the screen starts flashing after a few seconds (about 20 seconds) and the white "Unlocked" in the top left of the screen is gone during the flashing. What the hell? I can still get into the recovery mode, but none of the options seem to help my problem, even the factory reset.
And a battery pull is the only way to get the screen to stop blinking and restart.
Any ideas? Could the download have been incomplete/corrupted?

Hold the volume down while the phone keeps restarting. Then try to enter recovery and do a wipe.
Ps: are you on tenfars cwm or rom managers cwm? Only tenfars cwm wipes data.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Aye. On Tenfar's and wipe did nothing for me.
Boot into recovery and reflash Cherryblur. Sounds like your other rom you downloaded didnt finish or is corrupted.
As unbelievable as it may sound, tried this. Have 3 different versions of CherryBlur saved on my SD Card. tried reflashing the newest version (1.4d FULL WIPE) about 5 times and even tried older versions (back to 1.2) out of desperation. All result in this same hang at the motorola screen. This is one of the most amazing things that I've seen. Something buggered royally.

[Q] Optimus One/T (CM9) won't boot past LG logo

Backstory: In October, I ordered my LG Optimus T from T-Mobile refurbished. Shortly afterward, I rooted it, flashed CWM and then installed void. #forever. After Google announced ICS, I did some research but couldn't find any CM9/ICS ROMs for P50*. I kept searching and eventually found Lupohirp's, which I flashed and used for a while. This eventually morphed into Hephappy's CM9, which I have used until about 3 days ago. His ROM reached its final version recently. I tried flashing it, but ran into a bit of a problem.
My problem: From inside the CWM app, I initiated a backup, like I always do before flashing. The phone shut down and started booting but never made it past the LG logo. After about 10 minutes, I got impatient and pulled the battery. I was planning on trying the backup again. However, I have not been able to get it to boot past the LG logo. If I have it plugged in, it will just sit at the LG logo forever (I tried leaving it this way for over 36 hours, but nothing happened). If I don't plug it in, it will turn on to the LG logo but turn off a few seconds later. I can then start it again but it stays on for shorter. I can do it again for even shorter, and so forth until it won't turn on at all. I have tried booting, both plugged in and unplugged, with every imaginable combination of buttons, cards, and having the battery in or out that I can think of and it still won't work. I can get it to boot into emergency mode (under the same conditions as regular boots), but that's for the most part useless to me. I have a feeling I could restore it to stock using KDZ but it seems like it would be a lot of work rerooting, then reflashing, then trying to recreate all of my data. My hope is that someone out there in XDAland has an idea on how to fix this.
Thanks in advance!
-Lucas
explains that not quite understand. want to know how to enter into recovery?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
I know how to put my phone into recovery but it won't get past the LG logo, no matter what I try. I've tried Vol Up or Down + any of the 4 buttons + Power and still nothing.
Thanks anyway
if the problem is on the phone boot you have to do the following en enters recovery after format boot and mount and format system. CM9 install the rom again. when you finish the installation of the rom does reboot and enjoy.
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
I don't mean to sound stupid (but I probably will anyway), but how would I format it? Also, will I lose everything?
Thanks

lol
lol the point is he cant enter recovery
i have a lg p509 but i have none of those problems...
try using kdz and reflashing original 2.2 then reflashing cwm on
remember to backup ur sd card
if you get to recovery
go to mounts then you will see format system 3rd to last
im using cwm touch recovery
do as I am saying that you will not miss anything. makes only format boot and system format. You can be assured that not lose anything you have on your phone.

I can't get into recovery to do that, pt
KDZ if you use you will erase all data you have on your phone

I guess that's all I can do then. Thanks for all your help, both of you
loads while in power key and volume down key home keeps the keys pressed until the menu.
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
What was that supposed to do?
recovery
once if you get into recovery then you can mount usb to a computer copy ur sd card contents make a backup etc
then you can format anything without any risk'
one warning. once you format boot do not reboot until you flash another boot img or ur phone might be bricked forever
if we do not have root on your phone uses the superoneclick. you enter emergency mode that recognizes the pc.
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
But how do I get into recovery mode?
Power / vol. down and home. is always the pressure until you see the recovery menu.
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
60 seconds with all 3 pressed, still just the LG logo
do so press power and vol down for 10 seconds

Need assistance fixing a probable brick. T959 Vibrant

my phone originally started out with the stock 2.1update 1 firmware, t959ujfd...
when i turn on (off then on) the phone it would boot to a "Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000" logo, then switch to a "Vibrant Samsung" logo.
when i received my phone this was how it booted..
Later, i rooted the phone, and flashed clockwork mod recovery.. I made a CWM recovery back up here..
After creating the backup, i put CM10 on to the internal sdcard and installed it via CWM. During the
installation, it rebooted into the newer version of CWM recovery. After choosing "reboot device", my vibrant
would first load the "Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000" logo, then the Cyanogen mod logo. but then the screen would
flash, and the cyanogen mod logo would appear again. Shortly it dumps me right back at the new version of CWM recovery..
At this point, i thought i flashed CM 10 incorrectly, so from the CMW recovery, i restored that first back up. after restoring that
back up, my phone no longer boots.. Right now if i leave the batter in and plug in a USB, the circular spinny charging icon appears,
then freezes (it doesnt spin).. i can turn on the phone, but it stays stuck at the "Galaxy S GT-I9000" logo.. I cant boot into recovery.
so i read a bunch of other threads about perhaps when ibought the phone, it had a GB bootloader. and i have tried ways to get my vibrant
into download mode.. which unfortunately i havent.. So i can't use Odin and flash back to stock.. Hopefully you guys can help me get back to stock so i can at least use my phone and/or start over installing CM10..
Note: i did not install/flash anything else other than CM10. i did not use custom kernels, or install Google Apps etc..
Edit: Ok, now i can reliably get into download mode. for some reason, the physical button combinations were wrong for my vibrant.. instead of the
usual 3 button combo, my download mode was volume up + power.. this was also the reason why i had a hard time getting into recovery since it was
volume down + power.. It seems as if, my boot loader was changed when i bought the phone..
That's the combo I use I don't have boot loaders. Son if that worked did you get it fixed with Odin or heimdall
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda app-developers app
All you had to do is flash cm10 again. Most of the times you have to flash jb roms more than once because of the different cwm versions . Make sure you read the entire thread before taking action, I'm sure it said that somewhere but anyway Gb bootloaders are much more convenient so that's a plus. Just flash back to stock with Odin or if you still want cm10 then boot into recovery and flash again.
