hi,m
is there any guide/pic tutorials which shows how to remove the old panel(case) and fix new one?
hey! pleace look here this is the service-manual of htc herald.
from page 10 on you can see every step how to dissamble it
You can also hit up this youtube video that walks u thru taking apart a wing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aN6cKRM2F1M
i used service manual as well as video but the problem that i got is, 4 keys not working.. Z C L and 0. Except that all is fine!!! strange and its really killin me
I' m getting prety angry to tell you the truth!!! I really don't want to bother users to explain the same thing over and over again, but it seems in general, almost no one "TAGS" their questions!!!
I' ve been spending most of the time searching for the answers to some very basic questions and I just cannot believe people get anything done thru search results to the most of their problems. I like to think of myself as far from being stupid and unresourceful and yet I' ve had it with spending so much time looking for solutions!!!
Those of you who know what you are doing are getting it done. Those of us who are yet learning are doing it by trial and mistake, or what??! Well, I for one am not like that! I like to know all the facts and the theory before I do something!
So, to get to the chase...
Please answer me this:
- When I dl. an ICON PACK in a .ZIP format, file, where to put that or what to do with it, before using the icons with ie. Folder Organiser? (there are .PNG files in the folder...)
I get the part on how to change the icons, but no one explains on the above. In plain and simple english, the answer please?
So for the future enthusiasts, let this be a first for all the "noobs" to find the simple and direct answer to the problem! I'll even tag it correctly...
Thank you for understanding and for your help.
I already answered your other question so stop whining. Just extract the zip to your sd card. And then you can select the icons using whatever app.

DON'T BOTHER WITH ANSWERING...
After some more wasted time, I've managed to find this, And just as in all the other cases the answer came in a topic related to my issue, yet a stumbled upon it by accident and not by searching the forum... That's why so much time gets wasted! So many people and no one seems to be bothered by the logistics. Do you acctually realize how hard it is to help ourselves with the thing which is acctually created to be helpfull??!!
Anyways... Here is the solution for all you noobs. Hope this spares you some time...
(1) Download some Icons from the Market. Search the Market for "Icons" and "Icon Packs", most are free and will install on your phone. Most Icon Packs will say you need Bettercut or Open Home to use them, ignore this - they work just fine with FolderOrganizer (and any other app that can change icons)
(2) Optional - Download some icons from the internet. The best way to get icons from the internet to your phone is using a PC and transferring them to your SD card by USB. To do this, create a new folder on your PC called "Icons" or whatever you want to call it. You can create a new folder with a different name for each set of icons you download, which makes them easier to find later. Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable and select "Disk Drive". Open your SD card on your PC using Explorer and copy your Icons folder to the SD card (don't put it inside an existing folder on your SD card, just add it to the top level directory). When the copy is complete, unplug the USB cable and the phone will scan the SD card and find your new icons. (Note: an alternative method is to connect your phone to your PC as a Disk Drive before you start, create a new icons folder on your SD card and download the icons directly to your SD card - just select the icon folder on the SD card as the save location)
...and here is the link to the whole guide...

BTW, I'm not angry at anyone, just the way the world operates... Ufff...
Sorry 'Kev!!! A thousand APPOLOGIES... Did not refresh the page so I've missed the answer... In general, I was pissed by the amount of time spent for such a minor problem... Otherwise I'm not such a nag.
Thanks anyway.
Hi,
I have just received this tablet and it sucks.
But I paid much money for it and it took a very long time for it to arrive, so I just want to give it a try.
It runs android 2.3.4, but it has no android market. I managed to install the Market APK, but to my surprise, there was no way to add a google account, so I can use the market. Anybody knows how to accomplish this?
Second, I want to root this sucker. I tried SuperOneClick 2.3.3, but when I put the device in debug mode and connect it to the pc, it does not search for drivers, even though I have the android SDK installed. Anybody???]
Plus, if anybody has this device too, please share your experiences and maybe one day we have a developer willing to make a ROM for it.
I also have just received this tablet, I am a bit disappointed too (for the display quality actually), but I am trying to understand what I can make out of it.
I installed some versions of Google Market (and also the GoogleServices) but its seems unable to connect with my account. Will search some more if I can find some way to have it working, this post was just to let you know that there is also somebody else in your situation.
As always, any suggestion/step forward shared is more than welcome.
Bye

Hey I managed to install the Market and GoogleAccount and have them working.

I have a ROM that is built for the GADMEI T863. It already has Market cooked in as well as some other tweaks.
I shared it on my google account.

Just unpack and copy the four items to the root of the sd card. Turn off the tablet. Hold volume up en power button to begin flashing.
Nice dude... you scared me a little when I realized that it has chinese as the default language but I managed to set english quite easily.
Thank you!!!
Thanks!!!
You save my device. My internal sd was corrupted and i've tried a lot of solutions without success. Flashing this rom repair it.
allright, more users with this particular device.
Question, is the wifi on your's slow? My wifi is terrible. I can only get about 1mb/s a second. My router is a Linksys E4200 and my internet is cable 120mb/s.
It is slow with this frimware, the old firmware and the new (official firmware), no matter what.
Please share your thoughts.
My top speed is 1284 kbps with a line with 30mb/s very slow

Hi everybody,
Happy to find some users of this tablet. I'm really satisfied by this stuff. The 3D effect is nice and the performances barely good. I've put on the back a door hinge to create a kickstand
I rooted my device thanks to two little things : PdaNet to get a generic driver, then DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582
@hyellow : Thank you very much ! Where did you get this rom ? I'm curious to know the modifications provides by this rom, and i would to follow his evolution

Thanks.
This rom is great, finally my Google account and better performances in the system and 3D player. 'm Waiting for the next version
Does anyone see in the 3D mode strange rainbow-like color effects? Is it a low-quality panel or is it my device that has problems?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
today all cheap panels 3d glasses-free are low quality with rainbow colors and duplicates.
Best view at 50cm distance with low tilt in the y axis, when you stop to see the rainbow effect is the optimal distance-tilt, best with a solid color foreground in the movie.
I got one 2 weeks ago from BRANDO.
I don't think it's expensive, the 200 $ get exact change to euros, so it's 160 euros with delivery included.
The hardware is Ok, not the best but quite reasonable. And the glasses free display really works with the included video and photo players. The screen is HD-ready resololution and the video works quite well with every format I have tried.
On the bad side: the screen gets scratched easyly just by using it. It comes with very little documentation in chinese and just a few apps installed and some more on the internal SD, included a chinesse market. The construction looks a bit cheap and the plastic back makes sounds when you catsh it.
Still haven't tried to root it, with the Android Market installed surely will get more from it. Does anyone know if there is a chance we could upgrade it to Honeycomb or Icecream?

yes, it has the 3d player. But make a backup of the 3d content (movies and pictures). because, that is not included.
Does anyone know if there is an SDK to activate 3D mode?
LG and HTC have them for their phones. I assumed this device only needed the image to be vertically interlaced, but it appears something needs to switch on for the parallax barrier to activate.
thanks

Thanks. Does it also fixed the internal SD problem and improved Wi-Fi performance? Do you know how to make a backup of the existing ROM before upgrade? Could you share any screenshot?
Trying to install this rom,
It boots to the sd install screen and gives an error
E.Bad Boot Loader Arguments "(null)"
E.unkown volume for path [/udisk/factory_update_param.aml]
E.Can't mount /udisk/factory_update_param.aml]
anyone know what this is?
have you put the extracted files on to the internal or external sd card?
It might not make any difference, but i put it on the external sd card.
Be sure to extract the rar file and copy it to the sd card.
Pls can u help me guys.. i have a wave 525 set.. now i hv backed its contacts already.. but how to transfer contacts from memory card to htc desire V??
i mean tell me the whole process pls
As per my experience, you maybe able to back up contacts directly between the two phones. The two phones you are talking about are completely different, running on different operating systems, so the backed up contacts must be in distinct file formats. The desire V will not be able to understand that Wave format.
Tip: In your HTC desire V there is a inbuilt app called 'Transfer'. Using that application you can copy contacts from your old phone to the HTC desire V using Bluetooth.
I hope this helped you. If not feel free to ask here..
Hit the thanks button if I helped you even a little.
No,not a gud help.. i know al dis.. i kudnt do it.. ok .. i wil try smthng else..
Step 1: Open the inbuilt application 'Transfer' on your HTC desire V from the App drawer.
Step 2: Unlock the screen of your other phone.
Step 3: Turn the Bluetooth of the other (old) phone ON.
Step 4: Set it's visibility to :Visible to all.
Step 5: Touch next on the HTC desire V from that app mentioned in step 1.
Step 6: Turn ON Bluetooth of the HTC desire V
Step 7: Select your brand of old phone from list (in your case it is Samsung) and touch NEXT.
Step 8: Select the model of phone(in your case select OTHERS) and press NEXT.
Step 9: The application will search for Bluetooth devices.
Step 10: Select your phone (Wave 525) from the scanning result.
Step 11: Proceed as directed by the application UI on the HTC desire V.
Hope this helped you...
Hope this helped.

I would also like to mention a few suggestions to anyone who reads this...
In this era of continuously changing technology, we tend to change our handsets often. But then what about our precious contacts. Following I suggest few basic ways to make life easier about porting contacts..
1. The best option according to me is to have all your contacts backed up on the SIM card itself or at least the important ones.
2. The second best option is to save your new contacts as GOOGLE contacts and back up them with Google servers. This is very handy and fastest way for porting contacts from one device to another; at least for Android devices.
3. The third best option is to back up contacts from your old phone onto Windows Outlook and then using HTC sync to synchronize the computer Outlook contacts back into your new HTC phone...
I hope this helped... Press thanks if you found this informative..
are i said na it dint help.. i meant that wave 525 is not a recognisable phone by it.. it cant transfer contacts..
i wil copy them to sim and then to HTC.. thanks neways

Hi there, So my sister recently found an old phone of hers and asked if i could get any and all of the pictures and videos off the phone but doesn't remember the pin code to it / the Google account she used for it. So is there any way to get the personal data off the phone and possibly bypass the lockscreen? If we can't use the phone thats fine as long as I can get any pictures/ videos from it.
The Phone i believe is the HTC Desire Eye E1
Thanks for any help! And if this is on the wrong place im sorry, I'm new here
