Just upgraded to 2.1 Nordic (X10a), and everything works fine, excepts Wi-Fi doesn't work.
It worked when I first started the phone, then I think I did a restore with Titanium backup, then it stopped working. I did a master reset, Wi-Fi worked, then I restored everything one more time, and it stopped working.
Anyone know what's wrong/how to fix it?
3G and all other apps work fine BTW.

I'm getting the same thing with WiFi saying "Unable to start". I had installed Titanium, but hadn't restored anything relating to WiFi (have been restoring apps individually).
I can't use static IP,the WLAN settings just display "Unsuccessful" with 2.1.
If you're using WEP, try punching in the WEP in Hex instead of ASCII. Before this, I had problems obtaining an IP address from my router's dhcp server for unknown reasons.
Hope this helps. =)

It doesn't work, like even trying to enable Wi-Fi fails...
Just did a reset, I'll avoid restoring with Titanium, let's see if that works.
Maybe an 'adb logcat' might shed some light on the root of the problem when trying to enable your wifi.

yea i did the same thing and it still kept happening.
I haven't tried reset, but yeah it happens as soon as you turn WiFi on.
I had this issue earlier, it was fixed with a reflash for me. You can try it as a last resort (or sooner, before you add too much stuff to the phone)
same problem here!, any body have the solution??

is it works??
I had the same issue (wifi failed to start) I thought it was due to the rooting process as I could get it to start with a clean flash of 2.1
I had to reflash 2.1, then root.
I presume the issue is due to restoring some 1.6 settings, as I used Titanium again and it did exactly the same.
So, reflash again, wifi works... root, wifi works... titanium to restore apps only, wifi works.
I just changed the setting manually. A little bit of a pain, but now I get Wifi OK.
Wish I knew an easier way, but thats how I got around it
I just re-flashed then re-rooted. Tested WiFi after the flash, and then after the root, and finally after installing Titanium and restoring my apps (only the apps... no system settings). In all three cases when I initially turned WiFi on after a reboot, I would get the "Unable to scan" error, but now WiFi remains on instead of shutting itself back off.
I don't have any WiFi networks available here at work to test, but I'll see if things are working when I get home.

you dont have to re flash the phone. you could have gone into settings > privacy > factory reset. that way you keep root and it wipes everything on the phone.
i did notice that after using titanium i also had a problem with my market. whenever i downloaded an app it would just say that the download is about to start but would never download. so i did a factory reset and and used the stock restore that came on the phone to get my settings and messages and stuff back.
still havent used titanium to restore anything.
last time i used titanium i did restore apps with data and it messed up my phone so this time i will restore MISSING apps with data without the system data and see what happens.
report back soon
Mine works fine now...but that stupid popup everytime you plug it into your computer is really annoying, and if you close it, it's too hard to find after.
Anyone know if that can be disabled/changed?

is it means that using Titanium BackUp isn't permited??,
any other solution to restore our backup (apps with system data)??,
Just wanted to post confirmation that I tried my WiFi once I got home, and everything is working as expected. So the re-flash seems to have fixed things.
Same thing happened to me, I batch restored with titanium..wifi stopped working. I reflashed the FW and the problem went away..I have restored some apps individually (not batch)..and it's still working fine.

You can use titanium to restore. You just have to be careful what batch to use I used restore all apps with data and it messed everything up and had to do a hard reset.
I tried to using restore missing apps with data and was able to get my old apps and keep all settings and info for the apps. And everything works fine. Market and wifi
Like it restored my game saves and notes that I had in color notes
The only thing is I had to manually adjust phone settings

thanks for your advice bro!, IT'S WORKS!!!,
market and wifi works fine!, everything is fine!,
I had the same problems with my WLAN and titanium backup. After some search I found the solution. You need to be root, that it work.
only go to data/misc/wifi and delete wpa_supplicant.conf
and now your WLAN works without problems
For the bug with the market I'm searching a solution too..

After updating on 2.1 I cannot connect on internet...i turn on wifi and it scannig then "unable to scan for networks" appears on screen and wifi turns off. I very disappointed
wifi issue
I am also experiencing the problem. My only guess thus far is that it has to do with restoring data that was backed up in 1.6. I did this using Titanium Backup. Did you do this as well?
yes i did it the same
There is a fix for this. Goto data/misc/wifi in root explorer and delete wpa_supplicant.conf and try the wifi connecting again. The file should just reinstate itself. I had this and other issues because titanium backup restored older versions of a few files, the problem kept reappearing until I factory reset and only restored my user apps and not system ones using titanium.
thanks for your advice...it already works
Any, good to know. I just reinstalled without using a backup everything seems to be working fine.

Hello,
after the Upgrade and restore from Titanium I cannot use my Wifi any more. On searching for APs it says searching was not possible and turns Wifi off again. Has anyone an idea what I could do?
Thanks!
EDIT: Android info shows WIFI_STATE_DISABLED

I had this on my first attempt at upgrading. I ended up resetting and only restoring apps and data (not system settings) in Titanium.
Mine has no trouble with wifi since
I did also an fresh reinstall and restored apps + data without system settings.
My wifi also doesnt work after 2.1
had the same issue, ended up flashing again & only restore apps, not system settings, all works fine now
I have a problem with xrecovery. I booted into xrecovery, did a factory reset and then restored yesterday's backup. It seemed to copy things over fine but when I rebooted none of the apps were visible. Also basic things like the Market were missing. If I open up the Manage Applications tab it lists all the apps but gives a size of 0.00B. I tried to restore a few more times but no joy. If I do a wipe and then reboot without restoring data the Market is there and root is working fine. Any ideas what might have gone wrong and how I can fix it?

Where did you get it from?
So no one knows what the problem is. Oh well. I spent ages trying to figure it out. I had assumed it would work as easily as nandroid on my Hero. Guess I'll have to restore manually. Next time I'll use an alternate backup.
Normally titanium backup will restore user apps after performing xrecovery restored. So, it's not the xrecovery fault as what I see here.

Hi folks.
I use Titanium Backup for a long time without any problem until I change my firmware to 4.03.
Everything is running fine with my firmware 2.3.6.
I already wiped cache partition and wipe data/factory reset before and after update my firmware.
After I updated my firmware using Odin, I rooted it with a Chainfire's insecure rom or using Mobile Odin, as always.
The problem now is that I can backup all my apps and mobile configurations, but only my apps run fine. All configurations restored by Titanium Backup don't work.
It restores everything, but none of configurations take effect.
If I downgrade to 2.3.6, everything run fine again.
I'm using the latest version of Titanium Backup and SuperSu.
Thanks a lot for your time and help.
Unfreeze dont work the same ! I think is Titanium problem
Did you restore system data
If so reflash rom and restore apps only .
jje
Thanks.
I restored only my apps, but after the backup is finished, any configuration doesnt take effect if I try to restore it.
For example, my Wi-Fi settings.
I backup it, delete my settings and use Titanium Backup to restore it. It asks to reboot the mobile but after that, the configuration doesn't take effect.
A friend of mine has the same firmware, apps like Mobile Odin, Super Su, and Titanium Backup works fine.

having a similar problem myself but worse. Flashed galaxy mod ICS, all was working fine until I started putting my apps back on. If I restore the app and data every single app that has data force closes. IF I download the app a fresh and just install the data it does the same thing. Quite annoying having to set everything up again, emails, wifi etc, plus lost a lot of docs in colournote too. Anyone any ideas?
I'm having trouble trying to restore apps and game data !!! It does the restore operation but it actually doesn't restore any data whatsoever, just the app !! Is this a problem with TB and ICS?
Are you using SuperSu ?

Has anyone experienced issues with calling after updating to 12b and enabling HD calling. For myself I cannot use the add call button after the update and while HD is enabled the call quality is worse and has a waspy raspy sound in the background. I have tried restoring system.img to 11c but that only resulted in the contacts not working and force closing which also messed with the phone dialer. I managed to wipe systems before going back and forth and finally just went back to 12B without 3 way calling. Anyone have any previous experience or advice regarding this issue?
Just tried it and it works fine for me. HD voice is also very clear for me with no raspy sound. How did you update to 12B? OTA or flashing system and modem files?

I used the flash2 system so i wouldnt risk losing root. Ive tried replacing the the incallui and contacts and dialer to no avail. I twrped back to 11c and that didnt work. Besides doing a complete factory reset because i dont wanna lose my data ive tried everything. Is there a simple way to restore everything to the way it is now after a factory reset. Im researching titanuim backup but have never really used it before

If you are using a 3rd party launcher, you can save your home screens. You can also save your G3 TweaksBox settings if you are using that. Make sure both are backed up to cloud or external SD. Download TiBu and backup all non-system apps and app data to external SD.
That will get you about as close to you can as picking up where you left off. You will probably need to set up ring tones again. You can look to backup your wifi codes as well. You can use TiBu for that too, but also you can Google where that file is stored.
You can't always be 100% backed up, but this will get you close.
